Family is awesome, I'm just back from a 2 week holiday with my tribe.

I had a work think in Orlando for a week.
After that my family flew in and I met up with them in California.
My wife really wanted to do the Highway 1 coastal drive from San Francisco to LA, so we did that over 5 or so days. Very beautiful part of the world, some of the most amazing coastline I have ever seen, which is a big call for an Australian.

Then we did the Disney thing, 2 days at Disney a day off, then a day at California park. I told my eldest that I would go on any ride she wanted to go on. I was pretty sure that it would be a safe call, she's pretty timid... Except when it came to rides I found out she's a daredevil and I had to go on everything... I'm not really a rides kind of guy.

We made some amazing memories and used all our credit card and Qantas points. Totally worth it... Only problem is I need a holiday from my holiday 😅

The San Francisco drug thing was even worse than I was expecting... We only spent a night and a bit of a day there.

Me and the missus celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary today.

Lucky to have her, especially with everything we’ve been through.

What did you guys do KJ? Fancy dinner? Go on a short trip? See a play? Take the kiddos to Burger King?

We went wine tasting! Spent the day out enjoying some lovely local wineries. Now the kids are in bed, we ordered DoorDash and turned on “Longlegs.”

Lowkey day, but quite nice.

Foos JR had his first ever hockey game today. Couldn't believe how proud I felt, definitely wasn't expecting it. Certainly didn't feel that way for his first soccer game. We bundled up Foos IV for his first (non dr) family outing. And of course Foos III is already a pro at heading out to watch his big brother do sports.

We got slurpees afterwards. Naturally.

Covid screwed up the timeline, and then my neck surgery prevented some quality ice time. But he's only 6 so we're good!

I think everything you went through served to strengthen your relationship. Most people would choose to just walk away, but you guys did the work. I think that's what's missing form a lot of relationships and why you'll go the distance.

I would say yes...but my Spotify playlist suggested Ruby by The Kaiser Chiefs and then Ruby Soho by Rancid..

So I went with Ruby 👍😎

Jake fun fact, IF my daughter is blessed with a daughter she wants to name her Ruby Soho or Ruby Tuesday.

My dad's dog was named Ruby. Jake good dog name.

Well it's 6:30 over here, and she has slept the night through, which is great. Our other dog has taken to her kindly, few moments of jealousy but it can be managed.

In the midst of being displaced for a windstorm, the missus and I booked our family vacation: we’re going on a cruise to Mexico next summer. Should be a fun 6 days with the fam.
