The world is negative enough right now, so share something positive here going on in your life right now or concerning any other happy happenings 'round the world.
Share something, anything, no matter how mundane or inconsequential it may seem. As long as it made you laugh or put a smile on your face: I wanna hear about it.
Thread Rules: -- This is a safe space intended to be free from all negative vibes. Any negative vibes will receive a very harsh, Matt Riddle-esque: "Not cool, BRO!" from this ol' OP in return. Literally: post something negative here and you're getting flooded with Matt Riddle memes and walls of text reading "BRO" so I can properly cleanse this thread's aura. NO NANCY'S PERMITTED!

Me and the gf took in a stray cat a couple weeks ago. Meet Nibs: Poor little guy was starving so I just gave him some pate and went on with my day. A couple days later our neighbor found him hanging out underneath someone's car in the complex and I told the gf we could take him in as long as he wasn't a he (we have a female cat and she's not fixed yet). Turns out she somehow missed his giant set of black balls in the process. He and Luna have become the best of friends but I'm pretty sure Nibs isn't interested in her like that, considering the only thing he's humped since we've provided him shelter and food has been me. The little bastard won't stop trying to throttle my arm or leg.

Tips aren’t customary at all in Australia so to get them is rare.
Have been on gaming more so than bar lately (I take drinks out to slot machine players/fix machine faults)
Made $65 in tips one night. Made another $37 a week later.
Wondering..what did I do with that $65? I can’t remember where I spent it. Most places either don’t accept cash or frown upon it atm.
Turns out I never spent it begin with 😂.
McLobster here I come.

Hell, they're customary here and it's still rare to get a decent one sometimes. hope that McLobster was good (it's gotta be better than the McRib, I'm sure.) Best tip I ever got was $50+ at Subway on New Year's Eve because a really generous but also drunk customer felt bad that I had to work that night. I somehow conveniently left out the fact that I was getting paid double time for the holidays, but still: God bless that Good Samaritan Drunkard.

My company is downsizing, one of the consequences being that almost half of my team are being made redundant.
The process they implemented to select who stays and who goes was to evaluate all of the "at risk" employees based on various performance metrics which would be drafted and discussed and re-discussed among the senior managers.
I received the results today. Conclusion: I still have a job. Hooray! That's positive! The corollary is that I am performing well enough to be in the top half of my team, which is a nice morale booster.

My son (2 1/2) is starting to like superheroes all on his own. We barely watch any TV at all (20 mins max per day), so all his exposure to new things are books. My dogs have an Incredible Hulk chew toy. And my son has been asking his name. Then he saw a birthday card I had received with the Avengers on it. He asked for a Hulk book. So I ordered a little golden book about the Hulk and it came today. We read it twice. The Avengers are on one page, so now he wants to know more about Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man. This is such a win for me!

Congratulations, Emperor! Given the state of the economy and world right now, that's something to celebrate. My son (2 1/2) is starting to like superheroes all on his own. We barely watch any TV at all (20 mins max per day), so all his exposure to new things are books. My dogs have an Incredible Hulk chew toy. And my son has been asking his name. The Avengers are on one page, so now he wants to know more about Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man. This is such a win for me! Maybe I'm overly sensitive, but this almost brought a tear to my eye knowing how big of a comic book nerd you are. That's a beautiful thing, Foos! This is a big pro of possibly having children for me, being able to hopefully pass down my love of something to them. I am definitely buying that "I'm the Babyface, Dad's the Heel" shirt if I ever have kids.

Now that the video game pilot test is out of the way, plans for the remainder of the night shift are start streaming the Netflix Transformers show iNCY recommended and/or start a WrestleMania watch-thru beginning with the first. I want both Optimus Prime and Howard Finkel's voices ingrained in son's subconscious.

I am very blessed. Mom and I were going to hire movers but then we both had to take our cars in and there went moving money BUT fear not! I put the call out to my tribe and we have 15-20 people coming tomorrow to help us move. Not only that others have helped us paint, lift floors, do plumbing, move boxes ahead of time. I am lucky to have wonderful people in my life.

My garden continues to go insane. I've picked 108 full sized cucumbers. I've given away so many. I need to get some really big glass jars and make MONSTER PICKLES. And now the tomatoes are ready. I've grown a bunch of heirloom ones. Some variety called purple something my dad gave me. They turn a very dark shade of red, almost purple. About a million orange grape tomatoes. Amazing. My garden has been ridiculously bountiful. Green beans, yellow beans, beets, spinach. It's been great! This is what I harvested just today:

There's a running gag on a wrestling meme page I follow that's bringing me so much joy.
Nikki Cross/Danzig memes are the greatest thing since Sliced Bread #2. I'll never unsee this now.

Something of a project of mine, that I've been fixing up over the last year. She was pretty rough when I found her. I owned a similar model 19 years ago as an eager 18 year old - yet it was never in the condition this one is now, nor did I have exceptional taste. The one I had then was covered in skateboard stickers and the interior mangled to fit stupidly oversized speakers. Part nostalgia trip, part trying to recapture my youth, part righting the wrongs of my boy racer past, part working with my hands.

Now that I've got that off my chest in the sinister sister thread, I wanna spread some love and balance it out. Taking the time to appreciate all of you guys now in case I never get to (fuck that sounded grim lol; I guess I mean that life's just short, especially with all things considered in the world right now). The positive thread? Let's see, well the girlfriend's oldest kid (he's four) started calling me dad, not going to lie I actually really like it when he does, as it always puts a smile on my face. I can relate to what Foos said, in regards to the superhero stuff, but honestly just other nerdy stuff in general with the oldest kid, IE Pokemon (as a whole) and video games (though that's more as a special reward for him). It definitely warms my heart seeing them take an interest in the stuff that I'm in too.

Tomorrow my son turns 5 and today we had a birthday party for him by the lake. Not all his friends could come because of COVID but most of our bubble made it and it was a lot of fun.
Also after dropping off my wife and son to set up, my daughter and I ran to Tim Hortons to get donuts (son wanted donuts instead of cake), and while driving back she requested to listen to Green Day (my favourite band). While driving along the lake with the windows down and the sun shining, I could hear her singing along to Basketcase, and I damn near cried.
Now we're chilling at home in the AC and I have beer. No complaints from this guy tonight.
