You should come to Canada.  I think you are allowed to grow 4-7 legally. Most my friends have them in their back yard, living room or basements.   No one has to hide them (unless you have a grow up) so they are just there chillin' looking like all the other plants.

I don't bake. I barely cook, but I appreciate a nice Pumpkin Pie with whipped cream.  

When you find one, let me know how it turns out. The pastry is the hardest part.

We are catering in our Thanksgiving meal this weekend.   Instead of Pumpkin Pie we are having Pumpkin Charlotte Royale (pumpkin cheesecake mouse encased in swiss rolls).  I know fancy right? We did it at Easter too.

This way it kills a bunch of birds with one stone:  1) I don't have to cook 2) we are supporting a local company during this difficult time for them 3) I get to see my kid who comes to visit once a month if I am lucky.  Not looking forward to the nursing home.

I don't have a bad word to say about Pumpkin pie. It's amazing. In fact, I had a pie bar at my wedding (as iron maiden can attest to) instead of a wedding cake. And pumpkin was one of the 6 that made the cut. It's a solid pie. But it's not an all-the-time kind of pie. I't s a September to January kind of pie. You don't eat that in the spring or summer.
