Bill O'Brien's fired. 9 months too late, Houston. I heard Todd celebrate from here.

Nah Carolina isn’t good. Sorry UT but I’m throwing some nice money down on ATL winning tonight. Davante Adams tweeted that he’s not playing tonight and then deleted it. I guess GB yelled at him for giving Atlanta the heads up. I think Jamaal Williams has a big day today as he will be relied on more but I think Atlanta takes this one and doesn’t give it up. We are down our top two receivers , if we win it’s going to be Jones.

Holy shit!
I literally just read an article about how he was taking over offensive play calling duties and now he’s fired!
That’s insane!
It’s about time but Gase should’ve went too by now.

Are teams allowed to poach coordinators middle of the season or do we have to wait until the season is over? I really hope we can dangle the Watson cherry and tempt Bienemy to take the jump (sorry mikec).

Never mind, Romeo in charge until the end of the season. An old, steady hand to keep the ship from rocking. It's good enough for me.
It's going to be a very interesting rebuild for the Texans because they have the toxic combination of a lack of high draft picks and lack of cap space. You could argue really that the GM hire will be even more crucial than the coach.

Can't say O'Brien's firing is surprising. When you trade away one of the best receivers in the league for a running back who has fell off as they tend to do, it's deserved. Like CM Punk'd said earlier, 9 months too late.

Why didn't the owners step in before the Hopkins trade?!
But let's be honest, there are a number of teams that could do a lot worse than hiring O'Brien to be their head coach. He obviously made some terrible decisions as GM which may have boned the Texans for the next few years, and provided a cautionary tale for any franchise who considers giving too much power to one person, but his coaching record speaks for itself. He kept the Texans relevant for a number of seasons at the beginning of his tenure despite mediocre quarterback options, and then registered 11 and 10 win seasons in Watson's full years as starter.

Good points but in the end he left the Texans in shambles. Miami is going to have another top 5 pick because of Houston. Shit, Miami might have 2 top 10 picks this season and that’s going to help that team rebuild for Tua Time. Sorry Jets and Blindy. A competent GM could’ve traded Hopkins to the Raiders for a 1st round pick because we all know how quick the Raiders would’ve been to jump on that. Not for David fucking Johnson.

Johnson is so bad as well. The guy just has no second gear whatsoever. The Texans run-blocking doesn't help but Carlos Hyde was good behind the same line so what can you say.
O'Brien is just a terrible fit for this Texans team as coach right now. He's a time of possession guy that relies on run-pass balance. He needs a good defense to keep his offense from chasing the scoreboard so that he can keep his balance. The defense is terrible though and the result is running on first and second down and tying the offense up in third and long situations early in games and behind on the scoreboard.
Give him an offensive line, a run game and a defense, Bill O'Brien is not a terrible coach. He isn't a championship winning coach, but he's serviceable. I wish I could wish him luck, but he's brought the franchise to its knees so I won't do that today.

Boooooooooooooooo Kind of interesting to note that Crennel took over as HC of the Chiefs when Todd Haley was fired in 2011, and was the bridge to the Reid/Dorsey era....

Hoyer looks terrible, every pass has been high so that interception was coming. Time to get Stidham in before the Chiefs go on their typical second quarter surge.

I saw a hit on Hoyer called like two times last Thursday, what is a late hit and what isn't or do they just call it on a team whenever they feel like it?

Rashad Fenton is having a nice season so far - second game in a row I've seen him be completely shutdown.

I would love for Williams to have himself a game , for a player I used to bitch about constantly - he has really turned into a really good #2 back. More so though , he is an unsung leader of the locker room and has one of the best personalities in the NFL so I constantly root for him. He just never should have been out touching Jones like when McCarthy was here. I don't have a great read on the game tonight. It should be high scoring , if the Packers were healthy at receiver I'd say we don't punt once in the game but with two guys coming off the practice squad as the only receivers alongside the super up and down MVS - I have no fucking clue what to expect. LaFleur can scheme guys open but it's also a matter of A-Rod trusting them. Also wouldn't be surprised to see a lot from the tight ends again like the Saints game. BobTon for the win! Play action and sustained drives is how we are going to win the game. Can't allow Ryan and company to start running up and down the field and wear the defense out.

Hard to feel bad for the Pats but that is a truly horrible call by the refs. That was 100% a fumble. I honestly do not understand how the refs continue to blow plays like that dead. Let them happen and then check the replay if necessary.

Horrible play by Hoyer taking a sack on third down costing them the FG before half time. That's the absolute last mistake you expect a vet like him to make.

Time to bench Hoyer.
That was such a rookie mistake and it came from a vet. Unbelievable.

This is what we could have enjoyed all season if literally anyone had bothered to sign Cam Newton.
Why did they push back the kickoff of the Packers game? Would have been a perfect start to lineup with half time here.

Worst sack in history. Oh shit. I think Matt Ryan being sacked out of FG position in that infamous Super Bowl still beats that.

This is an unreal performance by the Pats defence. They lose a few of their best players and are still the only team that can remotely slow down the Chiefs. Belichick is so good.

Hoyer gives up points again! Loses a fumble this time in the redzone. Horrible awareness, Charlton had two swipes at him. Throw the ball away!!
