QT said the Factory stable had to be broken up due to hate from "wrestling experts." Really stupid if true as it was a great way to get talent on TV and a stable that could have been used endlessly for jobbers, and eventually cycle up stars.
Think this was another QT should not be a producer and a wrestler thing, which is now why he is almost exclusive backstage. Given he almost never won though, really weird thing to be a problem.
Does seem to go with the trend a lot of stories are having of late of vets of TV and vets of indies having issues in AEW after the fallout of Brawl Out making it known AEW is factional.

Short term booking from short term thinking, from a short term vision.

The Factory was DOA. It didn't help that QT was best known for an angle with The Bunny that went absolutely nowhere and wasted everybody's time. When QT turned on Dustin, nobody cared and that Factory-Cody storyline actively got the crowd to turn on Cody. Considering the stable's entire goal was to generate heat and get whoever they faced over as a babyface, it was a massive failure.
Despite this they kept them around for over a year, rarely having them do anything of significance or entertaining.

They did not have to do anything, they were a stable of jobbers for people to beat in minutes.

They've got hundreds who can perform the same function for the fraction of the price and won't instantly bore the audience.
Jobber stables are an awful concept.

They've got hundreds who can perform the same function for the fraction of the price and won't instantly bore the audience. Jobber stables are an awful concept. Up until recently I would point to The Dark Order as an example of how to do a jobber stable, but they've lost one too many important matches for that to be a good example anymore. Up until maybe six months ago they felt like enough of a threat to cause problems for the main roster, but could still look good taking a loss. Those days are gone, but that isn't their fault. They've lost members and haven't replaced them, and creative always booking them to lose even when they shouldn't is stupid. The Factory was just weird. QT Marshall is not leadership material, and the guys in the group were never given a spotlight to try and get them over. Isn't the entire gimmick of your stable to create the next generation of stars through rigorous training? So why are they just goofing around in jump suits all the time and getting their asses kicked? That stable should have been dismantled in 2021. Brutal.

AEW talent getting upset at the house shows. They are not optional, nor are they paid extra for them. So the practice of working side gigs for extra cash is ending fast. This holds up, Tony's leverage to bring in guys from WWE ends since he will be paying them less without the ability to work extra shows to get a lot more cash.

The man is a paranoid dweeb, it's well established. The marching-powder has rewired his braincells - that, or he's an immature man-boy who due to untold riches has never faced criticism in his life nor had a problem his Dad couldn't throw money at. Pick one, they're both correct assessments.
As a lot of people are saying - they need to stop talking negatively about the company. He plays into these ideas constantly that the world is out to get him, while booking 4 guys to go out on Dynamite to basically say " yeap, everyone's unhappy here.. but at least I can be me " fucken' stop it.
I think AEW relied heavily on WWE being shit, and for much of AEW's existence, WWE was shit. That way being " adequate " was enough. Today, AEW is still " adequate "... it's OK. But WWE is on a massive upswing in this build to Wrestlemania.

Like it has been four years, someone had to have told Tony what a troll is. There has been no full on bot swarm I seen as the hate is all unique posts about how much AEW sucks, and they do it because they know a few posts is all it takes to trigger him and get him to look like a bush league promoter.

I mean didn't he use to post on wrestling message boards?

I thought it was an unusually underwhelming finish to an episode, but the devil is in the detail - across the entire episode. - Roman still doubts Jey. - Jey was more than willing to take on KO/Sami at Wrestlemania, Jimmy initially was not. - Cody is in Roman's head. - Cody is in Solo's head. - Momentum has shifted. Reigns has been brilliant promo wise, this was a man only a few years ago stumbling and forgetting his lines against Cena and now he's on fire. On AEW quickly. Kenny Omega takes on a Mexican Viking this week. People online asked " Why? What's the story? " AEW fans replied with " it's a dream match, you don't need a story... " well, one company is seeing a monumental upswing due to a " story " the other is seeing... nothing. The lesson, storytelling is what drives and sells wrestling. Vikingo is the current AAA Mega Champion, winning it after Kenny was forced by injuries to vacate the title. This is the same title that Omega brought to the ring for two years. Video package AEW been pushing everywhere and aired on Rampage covers their history. This is the first match between the current champion and former champion who was not defeated.

I'll shift the discussion over here.
I don't want to clog up the AEW board with negative threads, so I'll keep the 'where's the story?' discourse here.
I do think it's an aspect AEW struggles with. What c has outlined would work well in AAA, but why should AEW fans care? I don't think what happened in AAA really matters to the core AEW audience and they'll enjoy the match regardless because it's two world class performers working together.
The question that needs to be asked is does every match need a story? Can we just have two guys have a fight? Or do we somebody getting jealous over shampoo? Does somebody need to get involved in a hit or run? Or does there need to be a crucifixion?
When Jamie Hayter won the women's championship, I remember it feeling quite sudden. However, if Tony Khan had saved the win for Revolution and had done this big storyline build-up where the Outcasts destroy the originals one by one, leaving Hayter who refuses to join Toni Storm's side, would that have gotten her more over? Or would fans have found it too predictable and lost interest? Sometimes you just have to be right on time and hope the talent can get over along with the title.
I do think Meltzer made a good point a couple of weeks ago. There are stories in AEW, but they struggle to sign-post their matches. There's rarely anything to look forward to because most feuds are resolved in a matter of days.

The AAA history matters since Kenny did carry Vikingo's belt out for two years on AEW TV, and Vikingo did not beat Kenny for it. Sure it is not an AEW title, but it is one that spent a long time on AEW TV. And it is very likely if Vikingo wins tonight, Kenny will go to Mexico and take the belt back.

All titles are props. I mean I get if people do not personally care about other feds, but a lot of AEW's core audience does.

Except fans actually have a connection to the AEW Title and they care who wins it. They've been given no reason to care about the AAA title. It really adds nothing to the match and I bet this is going to be the first time a lot of fans have actually watched an entire Vikingo match.

I've absolutely never understood AEW's obsession with other company's belts.
They've already got a million AEW titles and the ROH ones too - I honestly don't believe many of their viewers (outside all the hardcore internet experts) give a shit about random AAA/NJPW/Ice Ribbon/whatever else belts.

People who watch the other feds care. And that was what Tony did to make AEW different from WWE, accepting there is a wider world of wrestling and respecting other stars. Judge them by what WWE does this is stupid, but unlike WWE, Tony can showcase the people around the world.
Frankly, he should formalize deals with NJPW and AAA for talent and fire half his roster and just rotate people in and out.

Imagine if WWE signed Okada. And Triple H gets on his socials and goes,
" umm, yeah.. Kazuchika Okada is wrestling Roman next week, it's going to be awesome! "
The internet would be chewing Hunter out for blowing his wad all over Smackdown without any foreplay to get people in the mood or capitalising on what could be a PLE main event.
TK books wrestlers like I imagine he treats women. He sees something he likes on the internet, pays them, disappoints them and moves on after a brief and awkward interaction.
