It’s a tough balance he has to strike to be fair. He doesn’t want to betray his original vision and core fanbase by moving to a more story-oriented product, and he is right to differentiate himself because WWE-lite isn’t going to do anything, but the ratings drop this year must be giving him pause for thought. Is it sustainable to continue to book like this?

Are the ratings concerning given the network is extremely happy with Tony's ratings and keeps ordering more shows?  Moving to four shows on the network in the near future, with RoH possibly as a fifth show in the future.

Not exactly.  Most people they brought in got renamed and given new gimmicks and the original feds were not really talked about.  Some people got to keep their old names and gimmicks but that seemed to be the exception and not the rule.

NXT was less about showcasing international talent and more about owning them.

They’ve lost 20% of their viewership in a year and in the demo they’re down further than that. The network may be happy, or they may not. You don’t know either way. You don’t have to get so ultra-defensive of any mention of AEW criticism.

They literally praised AEW in their pressers and ordered a fourth show.

But I guess what does the president of Warner know about what Warner thinks.  

As opposed to all their other shows which they insult in their pressers.

I raised a pertinent point about the difficulty Khan faces in balancing attracting new fans with storytelling and fulfilling his core fanbase. I mentioned declining business which is factual. I praised AEW for sticking to their identity and providing an alternative. Somehow you took that as an attack and started making sarcastic comments about executives of a TV network as if you had them on the phone.

You know this idea on the internet that some people have that AEW fans are insufferable? They’re talking about you. The inability to take any sort of criticism, even when balanced out, as anything but an affront to their identity as an AEW fan. Fucking grow up

You realize that Warner has been literally doing pressers this week for the new show right talking about how successful AEW has been for the network? And just ordered a fourth show. You are trying to claim they are upset with the decline in ratings, when clearly they are not. And now are throwing a tantrum about it.

Reports today also are Punk wants to come back now.

Well that makes sense because the squash was a horrendous idea.

Nearly as bad as giving the Punk-MJF away on Dynamite, going 40 minutes and working it around CM Punk being old.

Should remember Punk was sued for lying about his medical condition in the past, and changed his story completely when he testified under oath.  Went real fast from a doctor said he has a staph infection the size of a golf ball, to no doctor ever looked at him and the backstage assistant drained a cyst from his back.

Two sides to every story but based on this and Meltzer's testimony, it doesn't seem like he completely made this story up.

Yeah and it would make sense. But with Punk's history he is not the best person to trust.

Tony should have got balls and fired him by now. There is situation where Punk leaves AEW happy. And from what I seen, no one wants him back in WWE due to the drama he brings.

I still think Tony will bend over backwards and bring him back. He'll lean into the drama and if he had his way, after The Elite go over the Blackpool Combat Club at Double Or Nothing, Punk/FTR would storm the ring and there's your big summer angle.

I believe Tony the businessman would be all for that, whether he can get The Elite on board is an entirely different conversation.

It seemed like Omega would be open to it based on his interview with Renee.

The big take-away from this recent development is confirmation that Mox-Punk had tension. Before their program, Punk seemed to be Pro-Mox and obviously got on well with Renee. However, now it's coming out that Punk & Regal had heat and that may have flared up which put Mox offside.

Clearly that internal investigation was purely lip service and nothing was resolved.

Hopefully one day Phil comes crawling back to the WWE to get his HOF and Hunter's first words are, " on your knees dog "

Now being reported the reason they buried Miro was Tony wanted him to lose to Page in a battle royale at Full Gear and Miro said that does not work for me brother. After that AEW stopped planning anything for him. Which is stupid since he has three years left of contract. He has been in Bulgaria most of the year, likely expanding his real estate empire.
