My point was : Joe used it for 2 months and no one seemed to notice until 2 days ago. Rock used it for a month, and still no one noticed Joe using it. It seemed not even AEW fans noticed Joe using the term and most AEW fans, judging by social media were perplexed Joe was using Rock's moniker.
It's like someone went to AEW Shop 2 days ago and went " wait.. what? You're joking? "

Because AEW really do not think it is a big deal. It only became an issue when tribal fans tried to accuse Joe of ripping it off forgetting for years that literally was his RoH gimmick. People would compete in matches for the mere chance to face the Champ, and he would lay them out definitively.

Replace the sheep with Samoa Joe, Serena Deeb and The Rock specifically in that order.

Lol. Where's the proof he used the term in ROH in 2003? Dave Prazak used it once on commentary at some fixed camera b show. Checkmate marks!

Is the full interview anywhere rather than these Twitter snippets?

Is the full interview anywhere rather than these Twitter snippets? Ariel Halwani's show is still going, Rhea Ripley is on it right now. Probably end of the day it'll be up. They're setting up a (fake) Ripley/Lynch meet up now on the show.

You're really on the pulse. How often are you on Twitter? Came up on the feed immediately upon entering it. There's no way to avoid this if you're at all into wrestling on twitter.

Punk really can't take it can he? Loves dishing it though. Yup. Move things to court and Punk's attitude and stories change fast though. Sure WWE will make great use of the perpetually hurt Punk in the future though so AEW fans can now move away from the non-stop drama he brought. And clearly Perry made the right call as after years of trying, he FINALLY was able to drop the Jungle Boy gimmick and become larger than he ever was before. While still getting a paycheck from Tony for working in Japan.

Big "please don't fire me" energy. I would be nervous too considering he has been suspended twice and the company clearly doesn't need him.
As for the CM Punk stuff, of course he's gonna run his mouth. WWE shills will eat it up and he can act like he's the big tough guy again (as proven in this very thread..you guys couldn't wait to run in here and post it  ).
Also did we forget there is a video of the incident that was used to fire him with cause? And he was the only one punished? He conveniently left that out of his little rants.
Punk only picks fights when the other person is down and is just another old wrestler that complains too much. He built a career talking shit about those guys and now he's one of them. Can't stay healthy for 5 seconds so has to stay relevant by trashing others. Good for you, bro.

I listened to the entire interview and it’s not as bad as the clips make it out to be. He does compliment AEW, Tony, and other talent multiple times throughout. That won’t make for engaging headlines though. “Omg think of the billionaires” is a great line. RT to be fair, the clips were posted by Blindy who’s not the biggest Punk fan here. Lol.

Yeah this is being lost in the ether too. He dropped little jabs throughout because he knew those clips would satisfy people's complaints and get them talking. He knows what he's doing. Also Ariel is a huge WWE shill and friends with Nick Khan. Like this interview is a joke and people eating it up are showing their ass big time.

Ariel was definitely fishing for quotes the entire interview. And Punk wasn’t shy about giving him some either. Like you said, he knows what he’s doing. The worst thing he said during the whole interview was calling Ariel a real wrestling journalist. LOL.

That won’t make for engaging headlines though. Pretty much this. It was an entertaining and level-headed interview, but of course the social media journalists cherry-picked and sensationalised specific moments. He hardly went "scorched earth" on Jack Perry. Give me a break.

And yeah RT I don't hate AEW but I don't watch the shows either. I don't really watch much of any wrestling with baseball back and whenever MNF is on, it's over. I do try and keep up with NXT though and WM weekend I am in. These were the only clips available at the time, thought it was worth sharing. I put it in the CM Punk thread to avoid stirring up the hornet's nest but I don't blame the decision to move it here since it addresses issues with AEW management.

I found his part on AEW a good listen, just because someone finally talked a bit about AEW backstage. The NDAs get tiresome after a bit, so it's nice hear at least one side of the story.
It's why I always wish New Jack was still alive and under contract with AEW. He'd spill the beans on everything, and when someone would say something about an NDA, he'd be like "you gonna sue me? Because then you're just admitting I'm telling the truth".😂

Because then you're just admitting I'm telling the truth".😂 Back in the day you could trust Meltzer, Keller etc. to cover this. Unfortunately they largely skirt the issue so you have to wait until these type of interviews from Ariel and Van Vleit before you can get any insight into what was happening.
I don't think Punk painted himself in the best light and I'm sure there were some embelleshments and omissions. However he did seem pretty balanced about the whole situation and clarified a few things that didn't add up. I listened to Meltzer and Alvarez' response and they forgot that the Jungle Boy story only came out after Punk made the peg-warmer jab at Hangman. The difference is that Punk reportedly reached out and apologised to Hangman - Jungle Boy decided to stand his ground when he was being unprofessional.
However we largely knew all about that. What we didn't know is that Punk received no support for the tricep surgery and rehab which he had to sort out by himself. We also weren't aware of the circumstances behind Punk visiting the WWE and what inspired him to do that. Punk is playing coy, but something tells me if MJF did something like this he wouldn't have been so understanding.
Still, this was all a fairly bad indictment on Tony Khan. I don't think even the most passionate or sensitive AEW fan could disagree with Punk's assessment on Tony.

It does feel like Khan doesn't get as much blame as he deserves for AEW's problems. Like dirt sheets reporting Khan was blaming Jack Perry for costing AEW Punk (which who knows if Tony does blame him for it), which made me think "Perry didn't cost Khan Punk, Tony cost himself Punk".
In companies, shit runs uphill, meaning that the higher you go up the chain, the one in the higher level of power that doesn't do their part to fix the situation, gets the bigger blame. I think Bischoff said before "If I get credit for stuff that was good that I didn't think up, I also get the blame for the bad stuff, even if it wasn't my fault".

The first real evidence of this was when he threw the pyro guy under the bus for screwing up the now infamous death match bomb ending. The thing with Tony is he’s living his childhood fantasy. He wants to be the booker that people love. He’s not a serious leader and I don’t think he ever will be. It would be manageable if he was more open to surrounding himself with people that can do that. I hope he does so soon.

Kenny talked about this. Was not Tony's fault but a last minute change by the pyro guy the day of saying he had an idea to make it even better than it was in the rehearsals.
