With the first pick in the 2014 NFL Redraft , the Houston Texans select: Aaron Donald , DT , Pittsburgh This would have created probably the most dominant 1-2 punch on the defensive line in history if you matched Donald with Watt at this time. The need was there as the Texans drafted Clowney to pair up with Watt but the guy was sitting right there waiting to go 12 picks later. Multiple time DPOY and surely the leaders of what would have been a #1 defense in the NFL for multiple years out of the next decade. Insane to think it actually could have happened. @admin and the Rams are OTC

Here is the Idzik 12, 12 draft picks and none are still on the team today.
Calvin The Bust Pryor Jace Amaro Dexter Mr Soft McDougle Jalen Saunders Shaq Evans Dakota Dozier Jeremiah George Brandon Dixon Quincy Enunwa, by far the best guy on the team until the big hits took it's toll and may have ended his career IK Enemkpali AKA the punk who sucker punched Geno Smith in the locker room Tajh Rex's pick Boyd Trevor Reilly
Awful. Just awful. One of if not the worst draft class I have ever seen and this is coming from classes that had DARRON THE BUST LEE AND CHRISTIAN HACKENBUST in round 1 and round 2!
This was the draft and moment the Jets fucked up and we hired a terrible GM after Idzik to compound on this.

With the second pick the St Louis Rams select Khalil Mack, EDGE, Buffalo Mack is the pretty clear cut #2 player from this draft, bared out by that position in pro bowl selections, approximate value, and total sacks. Mack and Quinn would have been a really nice pairing on the edges for the Rams and obviously become the identity of that defence in lieu of Donald. The Jaguars are on the clock Blindy

With the 3rd pick of the 2014 NFL Re-Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select QB Derek Carr out of Fresno State Is he the BPA? Nope. Is he a top 10 QB? Not at all. At times, especially in cold weather, not even a top 16 QB in the league. But when it is all said and done, Carr has stabilized a position that has been famine for ages in Oakland/Las Vegas and despite the most recent regime being lukewarm at best on Carr at times, he continues to give the team as good of a shot to be respectable record wise, especially when having to play Mahomes and Co. twice a year. There are a few options that has been better but this QB class was once again a shitshow and Carr is the standalone top dog of the position and the Jaguars, fresh off the Blaine Gabbert nightmare jump on Carr and watch him, and not Bortles lead the Jaguars to Super Bowl glory for the very 1st time in franchise history because he gets it done vs New England in the AFC Title game. With the 4th pick in the 2014 redraft , the Buffalo Bills select: Davante Adams , WR , Fresno State They needed a receiver and while Watkins showed glimpes early in his career IMO it's a no brainer who the best receiver to come out of this STACKED wide receiver class really was and he was even a second rounder. It took a little longer for Adams to come into his own , along with being behind a pretty deep receiving corps but when he did , he really came on. I'll take him over ODB because he is not the same diva and while he does get banged up from time to time - he has yet to have a season ending injury. Plus I'm a homer. @admin and the Raiders are OTC

Was curious when Carr would go , I like him and think he has a good place with Gruden and as always - even if they Jags could get a competent starter their franchise would make leaps and bounds. Also I'm pretty sure Carr could have gotten that defense to the Super Bowl a few years back.
Also also ... how get Greg Robinson miss? Was he too perfect of a prospect? Dude also had everything you'd ever want from a tackle and just busted HARD , almost like this era's Mandarich. At least Mandarich went on to a solid career at guard ... Robinson just sucked at football. Guess Gallery is a lot the same too.

With the fifth pick the Oakland Raiders select Zach Martin, G, Notre Dame Pretty clearly the next best player in this draft is Martin, and while Oakland had an awful lot of needs at this time, the offensive line was definitely one of them. With four all pros and six pro bowl selections he only trails Donald from the draft class, and it would mean they wouldn't have to start guys like Austin Howard and J'Marcus Webb over the next couple of seasons, and probably negates having to make kinda crappy decisions like bringing in Richie Incognito down the line. I was just looking up the Raiders being curious , man was that a bad fricken team. 31st in offense and 32nd in defense , truly needed to go BPA there. At least Martin would give them something to build on , the only other option was wide receiver.

Davante Adams going to Buffalo would’ve been so bad for his career. From Kyle Orton to Tyrod Taylor. Considering Adams first big year was his 3rd season, he would’ve been stuck in that trap Robert Woods was apparently trapped in for all those years. I thought Woods was a bum and then he went to Los Angeles and balled out. I’m sure Adams would’ve been traded elsewhere but oof that would’ve been bad.

With the 6th pick the Atlanta Falcons select OT Taylor Lewan out of Michigan The Falcons had the right idea to protect Matt Ryan with the gaping hole that existed at LT and Jake Matthews was a can't miss franchise LT and Matthews has been solid if not good, Lewan has been great however. Yeah he's a dirty player with a suspect background and he got busted on PED but he's been the backbone of the vaunted Titans OLine that has help transformed them into a super bowl contender the past couple of seasons and to swap Matthews with Lewan would have upgraded that high powered Falcons offense to the next level. He was a douchebag in Michigan but heck if he isn't important and I feel that Lewan would be valued a little more than giving a new toy at WR to Matt Ryan who'd play 2nd fiddle to Julio, especially when they gave up so much ammo to get Jones. Lewan suffered a torn ACL this past season and with the loss of Conklin in FA, the Titans Oline took a step back so the importance of Lewan to what Tenn can't be understated enough. Big time add for Atlanta. UT Tampa Bay OTC

Lewan is a solid pick for sure , they needed defense in the worst way but they also took a LT there for real so it stands to reason to just take a better one without an obvious defensive piece on the board. Though CJ Mosley is incredibly underrated. Just barely behind Zack Martin and Donald in All Pro and Pro Bowl selections. With the 7th pick in the 2014 redraft , the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select: Mike Evans , WR , Texas A&M I don't want to change anything , Evans and the Bucs have seemed like the perfect marriage so far and he's hit 1000 yards in every season there and has been a true #1 and consumate professional. His consistency could place him as the first receiver off the board but I still question whether he has that next level to truly contend for being the best. Still though , great pick then and the right pick now. The Cleveland Browns and @admin are OTC

Mosley has been a letdown with Jets so I took him down a little but he was fantastic as a Raven. Injured week 1(He was fantastic in that game vs BUF) in 2019, opted out 2020, now in a 4-3 D at the MLB.

With the eighth pick the Cleveland Browns select Odell Beckham Jr, WR, LSU Assuming we've already fixed the Browns QB problem from our other redrafts with Andrew Luck, I'm going to add Odell to Keenan Allen who I picked in the previous year to form a really nice looking offence. Miles Austin and Andrew Hawkins were the starters this year which is highly uninspiring and part of the reason Brian Hoyer could only muster 12 touchdowns. I think it would be really interesting to see how Odell's career would have differed had he started off somewhere low key like Cleveland, not had the one hander on SNF that catapulted him to super stardom. The Minnesota Vikings are on the clock Blindy (don't miss the pick)

Well you can’t really hold either against him , injuries happen and it’s not like he’s been ravaged by them and Covid took everyone off guard. As for being a consistently good-great player when healthy though there aren’t a ton that match Mosley in the draft.

This was tough for Minnesota, there are 4 legit guys here that I could go at the same position. Matter of who the hell do I take, the recent superstar at the spot, the guy who was great couple of seasons ago, the actual fit at the team or the face of this draft who hasn't been as advertised but still solid. With the 9th pick of the NFL Re-Draft, the Minnesota Vikings select DE/OLB JaDaveon Clowney out of South Carolina I expect this to be shredded but I feel under Zimmer, Clowney would have been featured as the go to pass rusher, one the team desperately needed until they hit the Hunter pick in a future draft. Clowney's two big problems have been health and not sticking on one team the past 3 years(Maybe 4 as he's a FA), fault of his own for his ridiculous price tag. With Watt next to him, Clowney didn't have to have the weight on his shoulders of being the top gun on defense and I feel with guys like Harrison Smith & Linval Joseph up front and a couple of other guys, Clowney would have been an upgrade over Barr, as a run stuffer and as a pass rusher. Clowney never hit the ceiling that garnered him the face of the draft but he's still a good run stuffer at his position and has shown to do the little things outside of going for the fancy pass rush. The other pass rushers had me really ponder this pick, one has erupted the past 2 seasons to earn that mega deal, the other has been THE if not the 2nd best defender on his defense. Barr has also been Zimmer's right hand man on defense too but I feel Clowney does a little better than what Barr provided and the Vikings end the slight fall of Clowney. I feel Clowney signed on very late in the process last year and suffered with the Titans because of it and the trade to Seattle which was another BoB blunder sort of threw Clowney out into a defense that wasn't catering due to the lack of talent in the front 4 next to him. In Minnesota, they had the beef up front that would have made him roll as a 4-3 DE that might have been catered to him and I think in hindsight, he may have stayed in Minnesota as they wouldn't have messed around due to the production in the 2016-2018 seasons. Clowney is a victim of his price tag and also a victim of the hit of hits vs Michigan that hyped him up as the next Lawrence Taylor when that wasn't the case. He doesn't carry the expectations here as 9th pick and can operate without the weight of the world on his shoulder and would just have to battle health to get the job done. Lions OTC UT

Clowney ... meh. I wouldn't have went there for the Vikings but I'm also harder on Clowney than most. With the 10th pick in the 2014 redraft , the Detroit Lions select: Joel Bitonio , OL , Nevada The Lions took Ebron here originally and I get it and their defense was in surprisingly good shape at this time , their offense needed work though and it would have started up front. Bitonio gets the nod for me due to his versatility on the line and the fact the could play a few different position including being an All Pro at guard. The Titans and @admin are On The Clock

Also on Ebron , I loved him so much coming out of UNC and wanted the Packers to try and get him so bad. Another dude that it seemed impossible to bust out with his size and speed combo and no huge red flags .. just maybe some development needed. Pairing him with Johnson should have been lights out for defenses but he just never fully matured to the elite prospect he seemed to be even if he's had a decent enough career for a journeyman tight end.

Without all of that hype, he'd have the monkey off his back and operate as a featured pass rusher down the line under Zimmer. He'd also not have the inflated ego of having a ridiculous price tag that forced himself to sign on late with the Titans and be behind the eight ball with no OTA and preseason. With the 11th pick the Tennessee Titans select Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M With Lewan off the board the Titans need to fill their LT spot so this becomes a swap between them and the Falcons. I'm not going to pretend that I've watched these two closely for years but I think Blindy has probably overstepped the mark saying that Lewan is definitively better considering Matthews has graded higher on PFF in five of the last six seasons, has a higher approximate value, and has been more durable. I don't think Tennessee would be too upset by this at all. The GGGGGGGG-men are on the clock Blindy

Also interesting little run on offensive linemen and the order. I took Bitonio over Matthews because I feel he's more consistent and versatile. The Lions needed help at a number of spots on their offensive line and he could play at least three of them I think and be better for them overall.

Giants select WR Jarvis Landry out of LSU I had a big writeup that was deleted but he essentially you get the 2nd half of the electric LSU duo and Landry has had 3 1100 yard seasons under him despite having the amazing Adam Gase and Freddie Kitchens calling up plays for him in his career. He stepped up as the go to for Mayfield last season when Odell got hurt and he is a fearless route runner and can be chippy as a run blocker so he is more than substance than flash. Not sure if like with OBJr if Eli's struggles later on in his career would have Landry happy but he would have been instant impact upon the GMen drafting him. Rams OTC UT

I don’t think you can take Landry over another receiver on the board. It was between the two of them if it's who I think your hinting at. The other guy lost a year due to injury and got hampered by poor QB play. The other guy has been better in 3 of the seasons but overall body of work favors Landry. Landry had two of the worst signal callers in the game by far though, amazing he put up numbers the way he did. Damn HR hates the pick

With the 13th pick in the 2014 Redraft , the Rams select: Allen Robinson , WR , Penn State The Rams are in a tough spot here , they need offensive line help but I don't love any of them in this spot. They needed a QB but it's too early for Mr. Two Gloves but they can still look to receiver where Kenny Britt and Tavon Austin were their pass catchers. Robinson IMO is one of the most overlooked players in the league because of where he's played but he's more than capable of being a dominant outside receiver and has produced despite having maybe the worst quarterback situation(s) of anyone in the league since he's came in. Spending a majority of your career catching passes from Blake Bortles and Mitch Trubisky doesn't exactly help your bottom line. As a fan of a team that has to face him , I know his talent and if he was with an even decent quarterback I think he would be a consistent All Pro. The Bears and @admin are OTC

Damn HR hates the pick He didn't have two of the worst signal callers in the game , and it's easier for him when he's catching a ton of 5 yard outs from the slot. I'm not trying to degrade Landry at all - he is a baller but I prefer guys like Robinson who can dominate on the outside and I just think given a choice - I'd take Robinson and his ability on the outside over Landry. I doubt HR hates the pick , he probably agrees with you.
