That's literally what they called the Harts vs King and his Knights.... Shawn and his knights. It just occurred to me... At least in 1992, Perfect's announcements of Shawn leaving the building was clearly intended to relate Shawn in some way to Elvis. Were they still doing this shtick by late 1993? If so, maybe "the king" at Survivor Series was always meant to be the Elvis-like Shawn? That's the furthest stretch I have in me this morning.

That's not even a stretch. That's a disembodiment of epical proportions.

UT, during this experience watching Superstars, what's been your favorite storyline to happen on the show? Curious to see what UT goes with considering how much further along he is. I'll rank mine so far, including ones dropped far too soon. 1. Papa Shango voodoo cursing the Ultimate Warrior and others 2. Zerk trying to stab Taker 3. Nailz assaulting Bossman with his own nightstick 4. Mountie shocking Sarge and threatening others 5. Beverlys painting LOS on jobbers to mock the Legion of Doom 6. Repo Man strangling Bulldog 7. Martel stealing Tatanka's feathers

Are we talking just Superstars or the WWF in general? I guess it all kind of blends.

Also, I think my dream WWF Family Feud teams for this era would be...
Good Guys: - Mr. Perfect - Crush - Jim Duggan - Rick Steiner - Scott Steiner
Bad Guys: - Shawn Michaels - Doink - Repo Man - Ted DiBiase - Irwin R. Schyster

If Rick Martel would have become the model 5 years later, I believe he would have been a perennial main eventer.

Are we talking just Superstars or the WWF in general? I guess it all kind of blends. I mean 🤯 covered all of them pretty much that came about before Raw started to get intertwined in there. I’d even agree with his Top Two though Zerks attempted murder shocked me enough at that time I’d have to put it #1. Shame nothing really came of it. Favorite storylines overall since my New Generation rewatch went underway: 1. Owen/Bret 2. Bret/Lawler 3. 123 upsetting Razor 4. Team All American vs Team Foreign Fanatics 5. Razor/Shawn IC title I’m probably forgetting something.

That’s a bit of a stretch. He might have been able to have a program with Bret or something but consistent main eventer just wasn’t going to happen. Razor wasn’t even a consistent main eventer - or main eventer at all for the most part.
Not to mention , once he got off the juice his whole aesthetic changed and it felt more awkward and forced. Like when the 50 year old Backstreet Boys were still calling them the Backstreet Boys.

Well apparently this is the only thing YouTube recommends for me anymore... Who would be your ideal wrestler Family Feud teams?!?!? Pfft. Family Feud is yesterday's news. I'm all about Bingo Break nowadays. Will elaborate in a new thread before I go to sleep tonight. Gut reaction on the ideal wrestler Family Feud team... Vince McMahon Sunny Raven King Kong Bundy The Rock Chris Jericho *First 6 names that came to mind UT , during this experience watching Superstars, what's been your favorite storyline to happen on the show? Excellent question. UT what about favorite matches? Curious to see what UT goes with considering how much further along he is. I'll rank mine so far, including ones dropped far too soon. 1. Papa Shango voodoo cursing the Ultimate Warrior and others 2. Zerk trying to stab Taker 3. Nailz assaulting Bossman with his own nightstick 7. Martel stealing Tatanka's feathers These would all be on my list for that era in a similar order. Don't remember the Beverlys painting jobbers. But that confirms what I've always suspected- Destruction Crew > Outsiders. NWO were a buncha ripoff artists! Favorite storylines overall since my New Generation rewatch went underway: 1. Owen/Bret 2. Bret/Lawler 4. Team All American vs Team Foreign Fanatics And these would all be on my list from that era. Great minds think alike....or maybe it's just a case of the cream rising to the top. I liked The Model. Good look. Good in the ring. Fun gimmick. He was perfect in the role of "annoying" midcard heel. But I just can't see The Model as a WWF main eventer. Not even for a throwaway IYH. I think he was destined to peak at "poor man's Rick Rude" and 5 years later he'd have been Val Venis. IC Champ? Sure! I would have bought it. WWF main eventer? Nah.

I mean the oft mentioned Knobbs/Warrior match for being effective and a surprise stands out the most off the top of my head plus the Shango Shenanigans.
Tatanka vs Borga and that one Steiners squash standout as well. Plus Bret vs Adam Bomb. I don’t remember a TON more - it was mostly built around squashes.

I can’t get enough IRS bashing.
He went from a gimmick I fondly remember from my childhood to one of least favorite wrestlers ever.

Commentary has been the best part of this Superstars. - Polo gets a toothpick in the eye causing Lawler to take over for a bit - It’s April 2nd so Vince has made about 27 April Fools Day jokes and gets a kick out of it everytime like he’s just crushing it. - My first experience with Reno Riggins and the Reno-plex with Polo putting over the move against Earthquake. Great stuff Baker.

If you were to seriously think of a list of 10 best wrestlers to be on Family Feud, at least 9 of them would be ECW alumni or you're just not thinking hard enough.
You get true ECWers like: New Jack, Raven, Sandman, Buh Buh Ray, RVD, Taz, Paul E.
Then you get the transient ECWers like: Austin, Pillman, Cactus Jack, and if I wanted a ringer that just barely qualifies, The Bad Guy Scott Hall
It would be the most insane assembly of ridiculous people ever put onto one stage, like borderline too crazy to even comprehend what is even happening at any given moment.
The only wrestler I would truly miss with this limitation is Kevin Nash, who would obviously rule, and is also an unofficial member of the world famous Comedy Trio of Austin/Pillman/Raven in WCW.

This Spark Plugg and JJ story is fun. Dumb but fun. I'm intrigued. Don't remember this. Please elaborate. Been two weeks now of false finishes and reversed referee decisions and Doink and Dink somehow being involved. Jeff pinned Holly with Hollys foot on the rope so he restarted the match and Holly beat Jeff with his foot on the rope. The next week Jeff beat Holly by putting his feet on the rope to cheat and Dink came out to rat him out and the ref almost reversed the decision before JJ beat him to the punch and attacked Holly anyways. I always find it fascinating when the WWE randomly throws in replay or people from the back to overturn a decision because someone cheated. It makes zero sense considering they NEVER do it for like 98% of the other times people cheat.

The wrestler or referee running out, that is, to try to get the decision reversed. Has there ever been kayfabe explanation for why ONLY managers are allowed at ringside, or consequences for people coming to ringside or into the ring who aren't allowed? Should be a thing. Save your buddy an ass beating but pay a heavy fine. Determine the value of your friendship. Et cetera...

It's annoying too because it never makes sense. You can use this logic on a random episode of Superstars in a nothing match between Holly & JJ but not in major main events or career deciding matches with impeccable stakes.
I just said fascinating because the WWE just randomly decides to pull it out of their back pocket when its convenient with no rhyme or reason.

Objectively it is fascinating. I think it's just such a personal pet peeve for me, I got hot hot heated. Honestly, I'd even be OK with the inconsistency so long as it only happened like you said only in main event matches or those with very high stakes.

I'm not even sure I like it then , how is a heel supposed to get heat or a face ever supposed to lose if we are going to retroactively change decisions based on replays or eyes in the back? They should have just never drawn back that curtain.

Looking forward to your reaction. I agree with you guys on hating referees reversing decisions for the same reasons yinz stated. There was an early 90s PPV where they had an "Instant Replay Roundtable" with real sports figures (I think Paul Maguire was one?) arguing over whether or not instant replay should come to wrestling. It was actually really hyped going into this event, yet I haven't heard a peep about it in the last 30 years. Weird. Anyway, even as a dumb kid I realized this would be a terrible idea. Obviously didn't have the words for it at the time, but my thoughts were similar to this UT post... ====================== 🤯 Once upon a time you needed to have a manager's license to be at ringside. That old kayfabe tool got phased out along with managers in the mid 90s. I like the rest of your ideas.

I never got invested in Jeff Jarrett in the WWF. I really enjoy his run in Memphis in the infancy of his career, pre-WWF there too & TNA but, not his WWF run.
