A band I've been listening to a lot has been XTC, a rock band from the 70s till the 2000s out of Swindon, England. I had always been aware of them, with many bands I like listing them as an influence, but never really gave them a listen until sometime 2 years ago, and they became a favorite of mine.
They stopped touring in 1982, after singer/guitarist Andy Partridge had a panic attack on stage (he's had bad stage fright throughout his life), and walk off stage in the middle of the first song. They'd play one more show two weeks later in San Diego, CA, but never toured again. They instead became a studio band, and kept writing great song until splitting in the 2000s.
Some songs of theirs:
And the final performance where Andy has a panic attack, near the end of this video:

Garth Brooks - In Pieces Garth Brooks - No Fences Ingrid Andress - Lady Like Maddie & Tae - One Heart To Another Scotty McCreery - Same Truck Tim McGraw - Here On Earth
Garth is Garth, he's always gonna be someone whose music I'll always listen to, you also can't go wrong with McGraw or Maddie & Tae either.

You are right about Garth. I'm not a country music fan, but Garth is Garth. I'll go country everyday all day for him/his music.

Can't cheat by putting this in the 2022 thread(Though they did release a track last month that is solid with Matisyahu as a guest) but man HIRIE has been such a fun listen. Everything just clicks with this group. Found them out recently after finding how they are touring with a band I have been all in with for years(Ballyhoo).

Man, this girl on AGT is someone to watch for sure. Just 14 now with perhaps the best take on Rocket Man I ever heard.

After @admin 's recommendation, I just listened to The Postal Service's album right through and I really really liked it! It all kinda felt like a combination of Jimmy Eat World and Hellogoodbye and that's pretty cool. I'll listen to Plans another day - I can't absorb too much new music in one day!

Well it happened. Rage Against The Machine canceled the rest of their tour.
I bought floor tickets to a show in Calgary in February 2020. As you know shit hit the fan a month later and the show got postponed…then postponed…then postponed…then canceled.
However the reason isn’t covid or anything else. Zack de la Rocha tore his achilles during their second show back on tour. They canceled the European leg of the tour but didn’t specify why. Then it came out that he was injured but again they didn’t specify. Now apparently not only is it not healing, he doesn’t know if he’ll regain full use of his leg let alone perform ever again.
I’m fucking furious. I know shit happens but man, Taylor Hawkins died a month after my wife and I scored Foo Fighters tickets for the first time ever and now this. Both bands we’ve been dying to see and both bands we’ll probably never see now. Gaaahhh this sucks.

Went to middle & high school with a guy named Jay who I remember most for coming over to help me get through a particularly tricky part in the original Dragon Warrior. He also went through a phase of singing the following lyrics on the bus- "the hobbit on the rocks is crying." For some reason this song snippet popped into my head at work today. I never heard this song outside of Jay singing it on the bus. Just looked it up and that is what I am listening to right now- Hobbit On The Rocks by a band called Toad The Wet Sprocket.

Currently compiling a super sized playlist for my cousin with all my favorite bands and songs. I'm currently at 435, my goal is to get to 1,000 eventually.
In the process I reminded myself today that Silverchair is such an underrated band. "Frogstomp" has to be one of the best albums from the 90's and no one ever brings it/them up. There's always a US-centric lense when it comes to grunge/alt rock from that time but Silverchair could easily kick Nirvana or STP's ass any day of the week.

Nah not really. I saw them live at a festival and they have a great presentation, but the music doesn't really grab me. They're sort of a softer, less exciting version of King Diamond. King Diamond is brilliant metal except for the vocals, which unfortunately is too irritating to tolerate at length. I'll share a song anyway.

That is certainly an unorthodox reaction to a King Diamond song.

Ive just been listening to Simple Plan's most recent album Harder Than It Looks
I know they're not very cool or whatever, but they're one of my all time fav bands and they really haven't changed much in the past 20 years, so they never let me down!
