Lol there is NO WAY the Dolphins fire McDaniel UNLESS they just don’t like his chillaxed attitude. I’ve seen shit like this in companies through my life and the NFL is a business. They don’t really want the jokester buddy who doesn’t fit their agenda of a leader. There’s businesses that prefer the tough hard nosed guys and maybe they want someone different for Tuas replacement. Let’s face it, Tua has 2-3 years tops left.
I’m just trying to think of possible destinations McDaniel could go to which would be exciting. I love the idea of him going to Denver. He’s got Jeudy and Sutton as his receivers. They might not be lightning quick like the Animal House he has in Miami, but he can make it work. Surely getting Russ to throw the short passes like Tua could revive the Russ we used to know too. Now he’s got a defense that could very well be the #1 defense for the next 2-3 seasons in the NFL and the Broncos could be legit.
Man the more I think about it, the more I’m leaning towards Sean Payton going to Denver. He dealt with Brees declining well and figured out a way and could do the same with Russ. That defense is just such a massive selling point to a HC.

McDaniel would have a job by next week sounds a little close to how everyone treated Flores getting canned last year.

Yeah man this just smells like Harbaugh and Ross been in cohoots. Harbaugh is going to pull a Pete Carroll and just take an NFL gig, get a fancy payday and get his own guy as GM too. I don't know if Denver, Carolina or Indy can offer that, Miami will drop Chris Grier if that means Harbaugh and whoever his choice at GM are together. That's an awful, awful optic for Ross to worry about.
I know he has tampered with Sean Payton in the past but the timing of this is just connecting me to Jim Harbaugh going to the NFL and maybe Miami is the spot.

NFL owners voting tomorrow to approve a plan of not resuming the game and different possibilities that would put Buffalo/KC or Cinci/KC games in a neutral site and a Cinci-Baltimore first round matchup as flip a coin for home team game.
Meh. Chiefs win, take the bye, take whatever team is left from Cinci-Buffalo either at home or in some dome. I liked it better for the league if they gave the Bills home field, but as a Chiefs fan this is better for me, even if it means not playing at home in the AFC playoffs for the first time in Pat’s run.
If Chiefs win, Bills lose, and Cinci wins then pretty well all those concerns are off the table.

You pretty much have to love chaos when you cheer for the teams I do. GO COIN TOSS!!

It’s 130am and I’m still awake so here’s how this shits going to go.
AFC:
1: Kansas City Chiefs
2: Buffalo Bills def 7: Miami Dolphins 3: Cincinnati Bengals def 6: Baltimore Ravens 5: Los Angeles Chargers def 4: Jacksonville Jaguars
The Dolphins sneak into the playoffs thanks to Buffalo, but Buffalo beats the living crap out of them in the first round.
Lamar Jackson does NOT return for the playoff game, because he wants MONEY next season and he won’t risk it. Cincy beats the Ravens by double digits.
Chargers and Jaguars give us the must see Herbert vs Lawrence showdown and it delivers and is “HEAD & SHOULDERS” better than any AFC game this weekend. Chargers win thanks to a GW FG as time expires by Dicker the Kicker.
#1: Kansas City Chiefs def #5: Los Angeles Chargers #3: Cincinnati Bengals def #2: Buffalo Bills
The Chiefs handle their business against the Chargers. Chargers used it all up against Jacksonville and Mahomes is just AMAZING.
Let’s face it. Cincinnati was about to beat the brakes off of Buffalo on Monday Night. I think Burrow is better than Allen. The Bills can’t stop Jamarr in this one as he goes off for 200 yards. Bengals win by 10 and the Bills season ends prematurely and everyone wonders what would’ve happened if they got that 1 seed.
NFC: 1: Philadelphia Eagles
2: San Francisco 49ers 3: Minnesota Vikings 4: Tampa Bay Buccaneers 5: Dallas Cowboys 6: New York Giants 7: Green Bay Packers
#2: San Francisco 49ers def #7: Green Bay Packers #6: New York Giants def #3: Minnesota Vikings #5: Dallas Cowboys def #4: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Rodgers and Brady go out the same week. One of them will be going to Las Vegas next season. The Bucs have Bowles so they never had a chance. San Francisco owns Green Bay so we already know how that goes.
The story here is the New York Giants pulling the massive upset. Cousins struggles and this time the G-Men win by a FG in a low scoring, old school NY Giant game.
#1: Philadelphia Eagles def #6: New York Giants #2: San Francisco 49ers def #5: Dallas Cowboys
The Giants keep it close for 3 quarters but Hurts goes beast mode in the end to win it.
The NFL cums it’s pants at a 49ers/Cowboys game hoping it’s a close game. The storyline of this game is what it’s been all season. Dak and his turnovers. The 49ers D handle their business here and the game doesn’t live up to all the hype.
CONFERENCE FINALS:
#1: Kansas City Chiefs def #3: Cincinnati Bengals #2: San Francisco 49ers def #1: Philadelphia Eagles
The Chiefs take an early lead, but this time they do not relinquish it. Mahomes finally gets the best of Burrow and the Chiefs head to the Super Bowl and all of a sudden become villains just for getting the 1 seed.
The 49ers are just too stacked. The Eagles barely got past the Giants, but SF’s D is once again the difference. Brock Purdy is a mega star and it’s all because of that D.
SUPER BOWL: Kansas City Chiefs def. San Francisco 49ers
De ja vu. A scary defense goes head to head against God himself in Patrick Mahomes. Brock Purdy has a poor game and the 49ers defense can only slow Mahomes down for so long. Mahomes completes the incredible Cheetah-less season by winning his 2nd ring and getting another Super Bowl MVP.
BADA BING BADA BOOM
KING MAHOMES IN THE ROOM.
Haters are born and many try and give this ring an asterisk for the Chiefs due to all the Week 17 drama. Fuck the haters.

Joe Flacco vs Skylar Thompson showdown in Week 17, Jets will be without Fant/Duane Brown. Basically Ogbuehi & Mike Remmers, AKA they're throwing Flacco out to pasture.

So the Bengals are fired up about the new playoff setup, basically saying they should host the Ravens no matter what.
There was a talk on one of the podcasts I was listening to about the argument between ESPN and the NFL over whether the league told ESPN the game was coming back or not. The NFL obviously can’t admit that was their plan, but now I want them to admit it in response to the Bengals complaint. Something along the line of “well it was our intention to play the game, and your captain reportedly went to the opponents and said you didn’t want to play the game anymore. Be happy we didn’t give you and Buffalo a forfeit loss.”
They also continue to control their destiny against the Ravens this week so I’m not sure the real complaint.
It was an incredibly unfortunate situation and to be clear I don’t blame anyone for not wanting to play or the league for cancelling the game, but making a stink out of trying to fix it for everyone is a bad look, especially when it’s over a home playoff game. The Bills may have lost their bye week, which is considerably more advantageous.
