I hope Matt Riddle gets the help he needs.

If Riddle does a stint in rehab I could see him popping up in AEW in the new year.

Seems like a lot of his issues stem from alcohol abuse so if he gets clean there is still hope for him. Hopefully he does the smart thing.

Not sure. Way people talk of Riddle he burned so many bridges it sounds like. Not sure Tony will take him with him being a lightning rod for bad media either.

Think really what matters most is if he burned his bridges with the old GCW crew or not.

Anyone who hires Jeff Hardy in this day and age, can't exactly take the moral high-ground on a guy like Riddle.

Tony takes him, he deserves what he will get from him.

This news thrills me. Maybe that makes me a terrible person but I liked Brock Lesnar more than I liked Riddle. He seems far more hassle then what he’s worth.

Riddle was just one of those guys who couldn't get out of his own way. He rubbed everyone the wrong way when he debuted, but was able to get over through his talent and I'd argue he was right up there as one of the best wrestlers during the pandemic era. Then his life just completely bottomed out and he poisoned the well. The merger was always going to hurt him, but others have pointed out, he's one of the few guys who could actually add something to AEW but he just seems like too much of a trainwreck. I think he can still turn things around, but he'll have to repair his reputation on the indies first before he gets his chance.

Man awesome times, he was actually on commentary during the fight you could hear his chin quivering. At the time I thought Rampage was bad ass but looking back now at everything that was actually a pretty massive upset.

I knew a ton of Matt Riddle types in the early-mid 2000s. Riddle is basically every Towson lacrosse player ever. They can be fun in small doses but get old real quick when you're around them too much.

Looking into things, Riddle is likely to be hit with the Punk clause and banned from working in pro-wrestling or MMA for one year.  They could just move his firing to a layoff to avoid drama, but the option is there to have punitively fired him and lock him out for a year.

He can break it in court though if he pushes.

Looking like he may try to goto Noah despite the non-compete.

For those not following, FTC is looking to ban non-competes like WWE uses in the US and is in the process of doing so.

So your theory on Riddle is based on a theory on Punk around being " released with clause " which is only a theory, a completely different company and as reported the theory on Punk, isn't concrete at all. Right..

No one is doubting Riddle had a confrontation. I'm doubting your theory on Riddle being given some additional stipulations to his release because of said cause - which is a theory entirely borrowed from a, wait for it... a theory regarding Punk having additional stipulations added after his release - from an entirely different company, under an entirely different set of circumstances. Disappointed to see Dolph Ziggler released. Mainly because he seemed very content with his position and enjoyed what he did. That said, they really dropped the ball with him overall. He had a hell of a career and run with the titles and accomplishments, but he could've been a lot more too. He did say it best in an interview that his best trait is that he could be in the opening match or the main event and no one would bat an eyelid either way.

Also, pretty remarkable that he lasted so long when introduced firstly as a male cheerleader before taking on the name Dolph Ziggler and introducing himself to people backstage. He had no right to get over and make it work but his talent ensured that it did.

Also felt bad for Emma after she tweeted her excitement about the Australian PLE only to be released straight after. I never really liked or disliked her as a wrestler, I didn't really care, but I don't understand why WWE brings people back to just not use them or just lose constantly.

Ziggler is a weird one, because you want guys like Ziggler around due to how selfless they are. A veteran who is willing to bump like a madman for anyone.. it's almost unheard of. A guy so willing to put talent over. That, and being damn good.

Emma, I can understand. She's ok.. and has a good look. But she's painfully plain to the point of boring, awkward at times in the ring and an average at best promo. She was part of that first wave in NXT.The Horsewomen eclipsed her, then the next generation were even stronger and it's too a point now, where evolution has just passed her by. Again.
