Cody opened the show with a decent promo against Solo. A-Team Down Town or whatever the heck they're called interrupted. Tag match for the main event. Cody has to find a partner, THE JEOPARDY! Of course it's Kevin Owens. They win, Bloodline come out, Cody gets put through a table. I expected Bloodline to take out KO while Cody watched.

It was a good show for Bayley who defeated Nia Jax in a sit down interview then attacked Nia Jax and destroyed Tiffy's briefcase.

LA Knight and Logan Paul had a pretty good face-off/contract signing.

Roman Reigns' return to Smackdown wasn't particularly special. A generic segment with him beating up the goons, getting some shots on Solo, the goons saving Solo who narrowly escapes. But we got a whole three OOOOHH-AAAHHHHHs so I was absolutely content.

A nice detail is how Solo called out Roman. He had a tremor in his voice, an expression that showed a sliver of fear. He knows he's a fraud, and the real king is back, but he has to go along with this ride to save face. What choice does he have?

Jacob Fatu was screaming and grabbing his leg at Summerslam after he dived on the announce table. Felt more like a shoot than a work. But it is a blessing in disguise as it keeps him away from being mauled by Roman, so he retains his mystique. Reigns vs Fatu may main event a Smackdown or leser PLE. Just as everyone had to go through Solo to face Roman, Roman will have to go through Fatu.

Solo's Bloodline used to be a threat, now they are a joke. They're being very deliberate with how they are booking Jacob Fatu, but why does it have to come at the expense of Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa, who can no longer beat up a single wrestler by themselves?

Roman Reigns was rightly criticised for winning all of his title matches by Bloodline interference, but he was clearly the strongest in his own faction and could hang with any other top wrestler. Meanwhile Solo is losing credibility by the minute. I'd argue he was more of a threat as Roman's enforcer than as the new Tribal Chief.

Looks like Cody may have been busted open hardway on the Solo headbutt. Could have been the cage, but didn't see the bleeding until then.

I really don't understand why anyone climbs the cage when exiting via the door is a recognized method of escape. It just makes the high spots that occur because of the climbing seem really dumb.

Solo looks like he was directing Charles Robinson to tell Cody to move because he wasn't in a good position for Solo's dive from the top rope. 😂
