I’m grateful to what he did for the franchise, but in a way I think we sold him high. Plenty of CBs I can remember having historic seasons, getting the bag and falling off. 

I don’t think we got enough for him, but at the same time, we drafted him 4th round. Who knows what masterpiece we get in the 3rd round now. 

I figured he’d fetch at least a second rounder, that’s the only slightly surprising thing here. It was always going to be tough to bring him and Jones back, especially with other signings.

It’s the way it needed to go. Franchise him and get a little something for him on the way out the door. Chiefs aren’t going to pay 20 million for a CB when they won the Super Bowl the last two years with the majority of their secondary on rookie deals.

Was a little disappointed in the compensation, especially when the third rounder is next year and probably amounts to just a better third round pick than the compensatory one we would have gotten, but did right by Snead and now we have 20 million in cap room for left tackle and depth.

A lot of new rules & news taking place during the coaches/owners meetings.

- Banning of the hip drop tackle which puts defenders on an even tougher obstacle on how to bring an offensive player down.

- Kickoff rule where this is going to happen:

- NFL Christmas game on a Wednesday AKA 2 day rest and the Eagles will play the Friday after the Chiefs open the season. Only Philadelphia is playing in Brazil! #PlayerSafety

- NFL Trade deadline is pushed back a week from Week 8 to Week 9, still is the halfway point of a 17 game season.

I usually brush off this safety rule changes because they sort of make sense but this one is just stupid. The tackling in this league is already embarrassing.

The kickoff rule will be interesting.

Texans just restructured Mason and now have $20m in cap space and no first. Definitely going to sign one or two more good players.

The NFL game on Wednesday christmas is stupid, but it did massive numbers this year so course the nfl will do it.

With the new kickoff rules, neither team is allowed to move until the ball is caught or touches the ground. The news articles don't say how far the ball has to be kicked. Obviously the kicker can't just onside kick to himself. But there could be an interesting strategy to kick the ball to the space between the two teams, creating a long distance onside kick.

They had to do something about the kickoff because it had become a complete waste of time, but I'm not convinced the new rule will change things significantly, a touchback only brings the ball out to the 30 so I suspect teams will just continue to do that rather than try for the small advantage of pinning a team deep.

Think I saw that if the ball isn't kicked into the "landing zone", ie. past the 20, the offence then starts at their 40 yard line. 

@admin they did add RTP and something else to replay booth official for quick recalls. Which is something.

He’s quick. In space he’s just about the quickest thing I’ve seen on a rugby field. I can’t see it though. Maybe as a returner since that position has the most transferable skills from rugby in terms of slipping tackles, etc. All the best to him but I would be surprised if it goes anywhere.

Louis Rees-Zammit signed with the Chiefs, joined the enemy. 

Could be good for a gadget play or two in that sort of team. Maybe something fun with the new kick off rules.

I wouldn’t assume he makes the team, but fun to get that kind of guy to camp.

Oh Blindy Eagles are trading Haason Reddick to the Jets

After the unsuccessful try to sign Clowney before he joined Carolina, Jets swing a deal with the Eagles for  Reddick. I like it. I would have ya know rather kept Bryce Huff and sign him to something respectable before he built too much momentum and I still prefer Huff's pass rush abilities but Reddick is pretty nice to join Jermaine Johnson and the boys to wreak havoc. Still need a big jumpup in Will McDonald this year.
