@admin we doing anything with kickoff/punt return points in fantasy with the new rule change? It’s going to give players extra opportunities to score if they return kicks for their team. It might make the position more valuable, maybe too valuable, but I still think it’s just another reason to draft smarter/better. Adds a new element to the game of fantasy. What you think? You just said you are listening to the fantasy pods, what are they saying about it? My inclination is that it won't really make any big difference, maybe adds some slight value to a guy like Corrdarelle Patterson but that's about it. Like I said when the rule was announced I'm sceptical that it will have the big impact that people are suggesting, I suspect teams will still be happy with the touchback to the 30.

I’m not hearing much about it at all. No fantasy analyst really go in depth about return yard points. I don’t think that’s common in most leagues. I think it’s a nice little boost for some WR2s (Shaheed, I’m looking at you) but I don’t see it making a massive impact in the fantasy landscape.

Patrick Mahome is the Kenny Golladay of receivers.
That joke ass Lamar is probably #1 because players are stupid.

Tyreek winning can also be explained by the timing of the voting I mentioned. At that time he'd just come off a three game run of 405 yards and 4 touchdowns and was right in the MVP mix before he was injured the following week.

He edged out Justin Tucker to be the highest paid kicker in the NFL by 400K. Holy shit. :laughy: He did the deal himself too.

Love that we are now even judging kickers by Super Bowls. Sports talk in 2024.

Most big kicks made behind Vinateri. I’m not saying he hasn’t been a great kicker and obviously has his place in Chiefs lore but if we are going to start using rings as a talking point when talking about kickers we should just give up because sports talk has gone full retard. Rings in general is a dumb talking point. Pacheco over McCaffery? MVS over Justin Jefferson? It’s all silly. Butker and Tucker are both great at their jobs and I don’t think the Chiefs trajectory changes one iota if you swap them out.

Between the Butker extension and Matt Araiza nailing a 75 yard punt bomb today, Chiefs ST is eating good today. I can't believe the NFL let the fuckin Chiefs get the Punt Gawd. x.com/_MLFootball/status/1820497715236937918

A kicker’s success is so situational. It’s not Tucker’s fault that the Ravens haven’t put him position to kick memorable postseason FGs. He’s still the most accurate kicker of all time.

Justin Tucker is the GOAT. I am only defending Butkers worth. Plenty of kickers have had opportunities to kick their teams to big wins, but have choked. Ask RT and Bears fans. A kicker is super valuable and Butker is a huge part of the Chiefs postseason wins. He’s making major 50+ yard FGs with games on the line. He is the second best kicker in the NFL.

Puka week to week with a knee injury.
Everyone forgot how he spent his collegiate career. The Rams are a walking injury bug with such potential. I would not be surprised if the Rams finish last in their division.

He’s pretty good, but I always think about how if the Chiefs just plucked him off a practice squad, didn’t have to pay him much for years, and he did great that maybe they could just save money and do that again. Probably not. But anyway, he’s been a really reliable kicker with a big leg. Keeping him is a win, even if he’s a bit regressive in his worldview.

UT Hey buddy. What’s going on with the Packers receivers? I’ve been doing a lot of mock drafts with my draft coming in a few weeks and I really want to have 1 (or even 2) of these guys on my teams. I have my favorites but I would love to hear from someone who knows more about the Packers than my fantasy podcasts. My thoughts: (correct me if I’m wrong on any) 1- I want Christian Watson to be that dude, but is he just a glorified Gabe Davis? I hope the new work he got done in his hamstrings help him, but I need to see it to believe it. We’ve seen his ceiling but it was short lived. I do want him though but he’s going around the same ADP as guys like Odunze, Hollywood and JSN who I just want to roster more for a higher ceiling. Unfortunate Pass2- Jayden Reed is going the HIGHEST in fantasy for the GB receivers and he’s super exciting since he seems to do it all BUT is he going to see the field more then last season? His rookie season numbers reflects someone who will have continued success, but will he evolve to full time? Can he stand out enough? Hoping for a dip buy3- Dontayvion Wicks is my favorite of the group and he’s the CHEAPEST in fantasy. I hear many people saying he is the next superstar receiver for Green Bay. I’ve heard “next Davante” a lot, but again people can just want to be right early. Are you hearing/seeing anything different? Is he going to be able to pass up the other guys to be the 1? Big BUY!4- Romeo Doubs is the guy that nobody likes or respects in fantasy, but puts up good numbers when needed. I don’t know why nobody likes him, but is he good for real or just a product of injury replacement? I’ll buy if I miss on every other Packer receiverHonestly in a perfect world, I’d love for Wicks/Watson/Reed to be a lethal trio but Doubs is interfering. I just don’t know if all 3 of the other guys are legit.

Watson - I’d steer clear of - he needs to prove he can stay healthy first and foremost and even then I don’t see the value. He could have some huge games but I think he’s going to be super boom or bust.
Reed - probably has the chance to be the most consistent - especially in PPR. He is the one receiver with a defined role in the offense and obviously is a playmaker. He should be the first receiver off the board for that reason.
Wicks - I love Wicks and agree he has a chance to be the next special Packers receiver. I have a feeling though it’s going to be back and forth between he and Watson but if Watson misses time he has true WR1 upside and could be the steal of the draft.
Doubs - the hardest one to figure out. He by all reports has been Loves favorite target all camp and is balling out and has been the best receiver on the team. I think in what should be close games … Doubs is going to be the guy because he just has that in him in big moments but not sure how high his ceiling can be. I could see anywhere from 800-1200 yards from him and 5 - 10 touchdowns.
If I had to rank them based on certainty:
1. Reed 2. Doubs 3. Wicks 4. Watson If Watson misses time that Wicks becomes easy #1 and Melton is worth a flier in deeper leagues.

Good to know on Doubs because he goes undrafted sometimes because everyone is grabbing Wicks instead.
I was high on Jacobs a month ago, but all I’ve been hearing is great things about Lloyd and I know my league mates don’t know him so I could be able to grab him late.
Stroud is going 4th/5th round and Love is going 7th/8th which is interesting too. I think GBs receiving room is just as good but Houston has the name value.

I’m not sure at all what to think of Jacob’s. Obviously I think he’s a really good back but it’ll be interesting to see what his goal line opportunities are. Jones had the chances but wasn’t always the best in the clutter at the line but with these weapons it’s going to be hard not to pass down there. Lloyd has reportedly flashed a ton but Dillon is the #2 and it’ll probably stay that way for awhile. He’s also reportedly had a really good camp and lost 5% in body fat which is huge. Plus he has the pass pro. I don’t understand fantasy predictions at all. The one I read had like 29 TDs projected for all 5 of the Packers receivers combined. Then when you add Kraft/Musgrave and the RBs you have to assume it’s at least 35 TDs plus a few rushing TDS. And then put Love 8th or 9th … if that’s the production he gets from all the weapons then he’s no worse than QB3 with QB1 upside.

Jordan Love is a tricky one this season. Fantasy and betting have him ranked differently. In fantasy, he’s going 7th ish round and when it comes to betting he has the 5th best odds to win MVP.
Behind Mahomes, Allen, Burrow and Stroud.

Ayiuk drama continues reports that now the Pats back out trade talks with the Niners good! One down and a few more to go! I read that their offer was Bourne and a draft pick. I also read that the Browns offer is Cooper and a draft pick. I think the Niners know he won’t go to those teams so they’re hard balling Pitt. Because I read SF wants either Friermuth or Pickens with a draft pick for Aiyuk. This will be massively disappointing if he doesn’t get traded at this point with a new rumor every day.

Previously I didn't think the Patriots were a realistic option because they wouldn't have a player that the 49ers would want in return, so I'm a bit surprised that there was a trade agreement in place and it was just that Aiyuk didn't want to go to New England.
He seems to want to go to Pittsburgh (for some reason) but I wouldn't have thought the 49ers would be particularly interested in Pickens, he's more drama than Aiyuk and doesn't block.
