What the fuck is a Jeff Hafley?

I did deep dives on all potential DCs for the Packers. Hafley wasn’t close to my radar. I’ll have to some more research before I hate it.

Okay did some light reading. Might as well get it out of the way early…

Pretty wild to go from college DC to NFL HC in two seasons, but he did such a good job with Baltimore it's not surprising. It's a fool's errand predicting who will make a good head coach but I think he was a no brainer over Dan Quinn. Seattle has a lot of good young pieces on defence who weren't being coached up, they should be a lot better next season. Seahawks and Ravens were polar opposites as far as tackling goes.

It makes sense and I think he’s a good OC but he really lends to the Steelers brand of run control offense. They will need to build up the line a little more but I could see it working.

Hell I even think he could be a ton of help for Pickett who has some Tannehill in him.

I don't think anyone is signing up for the job if that's the case. He's much more likely getting the Bruce Arians treatment. And Carroll is the reason their defence has been bad for years now so that really wouldn't make any sense.

That Jets piece that came up today via the Athletic doesn't really surprise me but Robert Saleh asking for the leak/mole to show their face and then threaten to take away all cell phones to see who was contacting who about the Zach Wilson stuff is comical.



Nathaniel Hackett being as uncoordinated and only meeting with 2 coaches prior to gameday for the gameplan of the week is hysterical, he supposedly met the rest of his staff hours prior to gameday.

I am so glad Zach Wilson is getting out of this shitshow.

Not good but that also helped the case of our current head coach who is 18-33 in 3 seasons who was the DC of the 49ers beat down of the Jets that 1 matchup....

Going from Ron Rivera to Dan Quinn is something for Washington.

Reading and listening to a bunch more about Hafley today and I’m at least intrigued and looking forward to seeing what he does. The biggest thing for me is that it’s not going to be more the same passive defense and death by 1000 cuts every drive.

Far more aggressive and press man single high safety , creative six man pressures (especially on 3rd down) and even some zero coverage looks. At least when we get beat now the team will be forced to beat us, not just this game manager dunk and dunk stuff.

Time will tell if he’s going to be successful but the versatility he brings at least has be somewhat optimistic.

Definitely need to look for a safety capable of playing the single high role, wouldn’t be shocked if this is where some Free Agent money goes since this is a weak draft for safeties in general.

I don't think the Giants will re-sign Xavier McKinney - he would be ideal for this I think. He was always better as a deep safety rather than down in the box in Martindale's system.

Yeah he is high on my list of wants. Winfield is the pipe dream but realistically McKinney or Curl is who I’d be okay targeting. PFF has him as their 4th rated FA safety mainly because of his coverage.

Leslie Frazier headed to Seattle as an assistant. Dodged that bullet. He’s Seattle’s problem now.

These Athletic articles are amusing but it's so transparent where they are getting their info from. The Jets source was obviously Joe Douglas who was barely mentioned while everyone else was thrown under the bus, and today there's a Commanders piece which is nothing but a hitpiece on Ben Johnson from Washington ownership.

Jets actually shaped up some of their offense to have ex Titan coaches. Keith Carter(O-Line) and like 1-2 others. He could be in play for Jets if Saleh doesn't get it done year 4. 

Interesting the Chargers is hiring former 49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman to be their new LB coach nice hiring there

Chiefs offseason priority has to be resigning Chris Jones. L’Jarius Snead would also be good, but I have a hunch he’s going to get a big offer this offeeason so that’ll be tough to match.

After that, receivers and left tackle are the big spots.
