Brandon Aiyuk is gonezo according to his brother. Justin Fields to Pittsburgh is the Vegas favorite as of right now too. The offseason content cycle has already started, I'm going to say both of these are total non starters. 49ers will prioritise resigning Aiyuk over some of the defensive guys, the leaks through his family are clearly just him in his feelings after the SB loss. It sounds just like what Deebo was doing when he was angling for a new contract. And the Fields thing seems like it's just being drummed up by the bookmakers rather than any actual news. It would be a strange fit considering it's been reported that Arthur Smith didn't like him for Atlanta during the draft process, and he's pretty much Pickett with running ability so I don't really see it making a lot of sense organisationally either.

So where does PW fall on the Bears situation? Should they draft Caleb Williams (or another QB) and trade Fields or should they continue to build around Fields by drafting BPA (Harrison Jr.)? I think the decision is obvious but I see some Bears fans online split on this.

I don’t know why they’d pass on a chance to start over with a new rookie qb contract. Fields hasn’t done anything to suggest he should get a big extension, but if you pick him over another number one QB, you’re gonna have to give him one.

There's absolutely zero chance they are passing on the #1 QB for the second year in a row. They are only keeping the idea alive to not depress Fields' trade value further (although I already suspect they will end up getting a lot less for him than the general consensus believes).
I think Atlanta will be Fields landing spot.

Atlanta was my first thought as well.
But I think Seattle should consider it if the cost is low enough. Las Vegas also should call, but I don’t see that one working out.

The Fields to Pitt rumor started because of Schefter and then Vegas reacted.

Jimmy G getting busted for PED for 2 games and risking his 11 mill guarantee is the current holder for craziest way to fumble the bag thus far into 2024.

General Manager Rodgers is going to pick up the phone immediately and make this deal happen to protect his blindside for like 5 games before the inevitable injury via Metlife happens. This is his QAnon buddy and brother in arms.
I still want OT Rounds 1 and hell round 3 if need be. If Jets aren't getting Adams from the Raiders, this is Rodgers next best coup as GM.

I think Atlanta will be Fields landing spot. Falcons seem like Cousins next home. I thought that would have been Russell Wilson's landing spot, I guess Minnesota seems likely for Russ and Ciara if they're cool with the sub zero temperature. Luke Getsy who was the Bears OC will bang the desk for Fields to be a Raider, I think that's the move more likely. Might make Adams angry if he's looking to put up numbers but Fields is going to be better than anything available to them at QB with where they are picking barring trade up.

I’ve called this since Rodgers joined the Jets. It's fine on a 1 year mid level deal, much like with Rodgers, you better have a safe backup plan looming if and when. Jets need to come away with bare minimum 3 new tackles on the team. Corey Davis may come back from the 1 year retirement (supposedly), he's a great #3 who can be an alright #2, WR doesn't need to be a heavy need on the team. I would still draft one in the mid rounds and hope for the best and pray Rodgers can revive Lazard after a pathetic year 1 but we'll see.

Sucks because Bahk when he can play is about as elite as you can get in pass protection but that knee injury has just messed up such a great career. The problem is there is just no way of telling if he can ever be a full time starter again and if his knee will ever be healed.
Best of luck to him going forward. Dude embodied being a Packer.

It sounds like Mike Evans is going to hit free agency.
a) is Mike Evans already a hall of famer? b) will he manage to keep his 1k streak going on a new team? c) will the Titans save us all by stopping him from becoming a Chief?

Panthers if they're serious about Bryce Young's development because they're putting a lot of eggs in the basket of a 2nd or 3rd round WR figuring this out. Dave Canales connection and would get revenge on the Bucs for not paying him. He's got his SB ring, it's time to cash out now.

Considering some of the receivers that have gotten in he’s a lock. And I agree with Blindy about Carolina. Though Houston would be a blast too. Anywhere but Tennessee.

Though Houston would be a blast too. I saw people posting out Houston elsewhere but I don't really see it, he feels too similar to Nico Collins and they will have to pay him next season. I think Dallas makes more sense if you want to tap into the Texas connection.

I think Dallas makes more sense if you want to tap into the Texas connection. I didn’t even put that connection together to be honest. I don’t think it matters too much that they are similar - sometimes that can be overthought and they could always add a slot or tight end to the middle of the field. The main thing it would provide is forcing single coverage on one of them and they would be incredibly tough to stop in the redzone. Also wouldn’t hate Jacksonville. Would push Ridley down to #2 where he’s much better off and honestly Evans/Ridley/Kirk would be maybe the best trio in the league.

Some crazy other cut candidates according by to NFL.COM
Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, Joey Bosa , Khalil Mack. I wouldn’t expect all four but 2/4 seems likely.
Nick Chubb - this one surprised me but there’s a case. I think a restructure is more likely.
MVS and Justin Reid - sign me up for Reid if he gets cut please. Love that dude as a player. Maybe my favorite Chief.
Justin Simmons - I’d prefer Reid but Simmons is a helluva player as well.
Hunter Renfrow - future Patriot. Though the Bills makes sense too for him on a prove it deal.
There’s more but those are most notable to me.

I don’t think they’d do Keenan Allen that dirty unless Keenan came to KC. 🤔 Soeaking of receivers, I kind of like my love/hate relationship with MVS. He’s been a part of two straight championships with pivotal plays. He reminds me of Robert Horry so much. Spends majority of the season running sprints and shows up randomly but especially when it matters most. I would love for a way to keep him on the roster, but I wish he would remain affordable. I think they figure out a way to keep him.

MVS almost definitely being cut. Had it not been for the AFC Chsmpionship last year I don’t think he would have stayed on team this year. I’d be surprised by Justin Reid, but he’s the second highest paid player on the Chiefs D, they have several good young safeties, and three of their most important defensive players are free agents.
Enjoying the discourse on Twitter about how Mahomes had the lowest air yards per TD as proof he’s not good. The lists top 4 is Tyrod Taylor, Will Levis, Kenny Pickett and Nick Mullens, a true Mt Rushmore of QB’s. Also in the top half of the league: Aidan OConnell, Derek Carr, Deshaun Watson, and Justin Fields. It’s almost like the weapons you have and the respect defenses have for you might have something to do with the average air yards per target.

Tommy Townsend had an absolute banger of a Super Bowl - he'll probably become the highest paid punter in the league. The Araiza story was gross and I think it's terrible that somehow he has been flipped to the victim in it all, I wouldn't want him on my team.

When the Jets worked Araiza out, I would not have minded but I know that would not fly in NY. NYJ just signed Thomas Morstead anyway and he should be brought back 100%. At least in KC, fans saw both Kareem Hunt and Tyreek Hill rehabilitate themselves.
It makes me think Trevor Bauer has a shot to pitch somewhere this year, maybe even in New York(Yankees not Mets, he dicked them over a few years ago).

He kicked the lady and lied about it while he was on the Chiefs. I can’t say I’m concerned about the punter of the Chiefs two weeks out of the Super Bowl. The first two articles that I read from mainstream sources suggest there wasn’t much evidence he was involved, to the point that after ten months the police didn’t recommend charges and then the charges were dropped eventually by the DA.

Ah I didn't know that about Hunt, that's a shame. He seemed to clean his act up in Cleveland at least. It'd be smart for the Chiefs to tag Araiza with Taylor Swift or Brittany Mahomes if he makes it out of camp without any issues.
