We're into FEB and no 2024 music thread!!!!
So the 1st album I am listening to of 2024 is Any Given Day's "Limitless" and again you sorta know what you're getting with this band. There's no real curveballs, it's the perfect gym pump up metalcore band. Their older stuff sorta stuck more with me though, more memorable. About halfway with this album on a 1st listen so the opinion can change but it's exactly the type of album/tracks I would expect from this band. If you want music diversity, this isn't the band but this is adrenaline fueling. Their older stuff is easy stuff to work out to.

Gonna be a pretty quiet year for music for me. Except for perhaps, the rumored new Halestorm album coming later in the year.

Taylor dropping a new album already seems pretty quick, although I guess by the time it comes out, it will be a year-and-a-half since Midnights and the current tour is not for a specific album. I also feel like she just loves making music and is in a position that she can create stuff pretty carefree and release it into the world whenever she wants (folklore/evermore). We all know it is going to be well-received, at least from a commercial standpoint.
For the record, I think she's fantastic and her song-writing is a huge part of the reason why she is so popular right now, but I do fear "too much", especially with the NFL coverage too, could lead to a drop-off, but I hope I'm wrong.

Lets gooo, hope there's a new album by Bayside. Excluding that they're from Queens, this band comes in out for me for so many years. This new single sounds exactly like the stuff they've been doing in the 2010's, loving it.

Taylor could release an album of her cat meowing and her fans would be 6 different versions of it. I like her music but her fans are next level when it comes to buying her stuff & she used that to her benefit. There’s different coloured versions of 1989 (TV, which is already recycled material) on Vinyl and fans have been buying each individual one. Insanity.

Pearl Jam release official bootleg live recordings of their tours. The initial 2000/01 bootlegs, fans were collecting them all. Why.. who who knows.

Somewhat different track by Imminence but it has it's moments. I have gotten used to the breakdowns with them that this song doesn't have them where they're usually at.
Sooner or later an album has to come from these guys....maybe. Wishful thinking?

Brush up on your A-E-I-O-UUUUUUUUUUS. The best part of being a Pearl Jam fan is never needing to learn the lyrics, just the sounds.
Anyway, there's a new Pearl Jam album, Dark Matter. And a world tour to support it kicking off.

Amazon music sucks. Tribal Seeds is one of my absolute favorite bands, probably the band I listen to the most the 2010’s, was able to see them live twice(not that great by the time I caught them in 2019-2020 their best days were behind them). They had been going through some issues and shelved a new album that had been advertised for February 2020 release. Been patiently waiting since 2014 for a new album from them, finally released it on February 9th and I’m just now finding out. I get notifications for new bullshit but not this album. About to crank it for the first time!

About to crank it for the first time! Awesome album, jammed it on one earbud at work then on the ride home in full stereo, I forgot how much I love this band. Quite a bit of the album has been released as singles as far back as 2020 but a couple have been re-recorded with different guest vocals, all of them sound remixed/mastered. The album is great though, lots of great new stuff including the track with Kabaka Pyramid which may be the MVP of the album. The story I heard was that the lead singer has just about blown his voice all the way out from all the touring. I didn’t know this at the time but supposedly he was struggling around the time I finally seen them July 2019. They sounded flat that day and seemed uninspired, rushed through their set didn’t play any new songs(Which I was aware of a few vids of them playing some at other shows). In their defense it was over 100 degrees that day in the sun downtown Houston outdoors in July. But what a disappointing performance especially since they were too lazy to break out one of the new jams they had been playing. I drove 4 hours across Texas in July in a truck with no ac for that show. Hirie the opener stole the whole show that day and made it worth it. I seen them a second time at the One Love festival in Long Beach in 2020 days before Covidmania really kicked off. It was much better set, they had a mini orchestra for one of the new songs. Still something was just missing. They made some lineup changes around 2017 that really effected them, watch the 2015 Cali Roots performance when they still had EN Young on keys and their other drummer 🔥

So in love with this album, the track with Elovaters ❤️
To me they were the best of all the new Cali style reggae bands, they fell off but this album retakes the throne it’s he best I’ve heard in a while, they made me wait a decade for it. 10 years ago they put out one of my all time favorites Represent. Great album here with a band getting their shit back together and putting out some of their best stuff.

And a world tour to support it kicking off. Main reason I envy Pearl Jam fans is that PJ can still make new music. Soundgarden will never make a new song again, and Alice in Chains just isn't the same without Layne Stanley

Honestly I'll take this over 90% of the bro country garbage that's out right now. I prefer 16 Carriages to Texas Hold Em but yeah I can't wait to hear the rest of her album - particularly her Jolene cover. It's a fun time for country music with artists like her and Lana Del Rey coming in to the genre. Kacey Musgraves' new album is also totally beautiful.

I can't believe it's been a decade since his Control verse. Drake can at least fall back on his streaming numbers even if all of his recent albums have been lame, but I love Kendrick saying yeah nah to Cole acting like they are in the same league.

New album of theirs "The Black" coming out April 12th, that's what I am talking about: This song is really good, very pleasant clean vocals with screams/heavies that compliment everything and the violin of course is the moneymaker from these guys: Great feeling about this album altogether.

J. Cole > Kendrick.
And while I'm at it, Beyonce's take on Jolene is straight fire. Cowboy Carter is like one of four albums, I've actually listened to this year.
