I just listened to all of Cowboy Carter. I would not call it a country album, not even close. Just because a few songs have stomps doesn't make it country. I'm not even a big country fan.

Yeah I agree, I found myself a bit disappointed she didn't lean in more. Having Dolly and Willie Nelson in skit roles in favour of features from Post Malone and Miley felt pretty tokenistic.

So I managed to bang off a few more albums while at work, having taken the time to see what's come out this year. I saw Aaron Lewis has released a new album (The Hill), which is awesome, as his last record (Frayed at Both Ends), was one of my most played for 2022, while not quite as good, I still dug it. Outside of that, I was also bumping ¥$ (Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign - Vultures 1), and Kevin Gates (The Ceremony) as well, with the latter being the better of the two IMO. 2024 Albums Played¥$ (Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign) - Vultures 1 Aaron Lewis - The Hill Beyonce - Cowboy Carter Chris Young - Young Love & Saturday Nights Gabby Barrett - Chapter & Verse Green Day - Saviors High Valley - Small Town Somethin' Jennifer Lopez - This Is Me... Now Josh Ross - Complicated Kevin Gates - The Ceremony Scotty McCreery - Red Letter Blueprint I went and saw High Valley in concert, back in February with the Wife. It's the second time we've seen them in concert, and again they put on a great show. Speaking of concerts, the Wife picked up tickets for us to see Avril Lavigne/Simple Plan, for later this year in September, so uh there is that as well. With all that said, does anyone have any suggestions, as far as 2024 album releases go? Edit: The big album going into April, is, of course, Taylor Swift's newest project (The Tortured Poets Department), however, I'm also pumped for Damascus by Elvie Shane.

Cole took a huge L on this let's be honest. He takes a shot at Kendrick not releasing often enough even though they have the same amount of albums over the same time period? And calling TPAB boring when it's one of the most acclaimed albums of the last decade or two just sounds foolish.
Crocodile Tearz is a good track though.

Is there something I missed with this beef?
J Cole was complimenting Kendrick (& Drake) with the big 3 line
Kendrick comes back with a diss over it?
J Cole released a diss track and then backflips on it, but I can see why considering he didn’t diss Kendrick in the first place?

Drake is on FIRE with these diss tracks.
Now he dropped a second diss using AI to have Tupac and Snoop voices on it dissing Kendrick.

Somewhat different track by Imminence but it has it's moments. I have gotten used to the breakdowns with them that this song doesn't have them where they're usually at. Sooner or later an album has to come from these guys....maybe. Wishful thinking? New album of theirs "The Black" coming out April 12th, that's what I am talking about: This song is really good, very pleasant clean vocals with screams/heavies that compliment everything and the violin of course is the moneymaker from these guys: Great feeling about this album altogether. To no surprise, the new Imminence album absolutely slaps. Then again, I listened to almost half of the damn soundtrack already with these videos :laughy:. This is the type of stuff I was hoping Architects would do after the outstanding "Holy Hell" album. Not sure if the "new" songs of the album touch what was shown previous off this album but the latter are simply tremendous so it's tough to expect that high of a ceiling to be met. That intense middle to end of the drums is too good.

Only heard a few songs so far off this new album that sneakily came out last month, so far it's good. Always a pleasant listen, hope the rest of the album is good. Maybe listen to it tonight while waiting for the NFL Draft stuff(Prob not lol).
