A new Monkey Majik album released last July(JPOP group) and it has some pure bops:
(Probably my 3 favs off this album in this order)
Have been a fan of theirs for like 15 years more or less, always preferred their upbeat catchy pop music over their ballad stuff so this new album has a very energetic feel to it, feels like a pure late summer sort of vibe to it. Probably my fav JPOP group due to their mixture of Japanese & English.
Pleasant surprise to stumble upon this, I thought 'Borderline'(Which is just a meh single for me) was going to be a 1 off but cool.

Wow, I've just finished listening to the new album by Foxing and it's absolutely incredible. sting you were asking for a guttural scream or two the other day - I think this will satiate you. I discovered them a few years ago with their great Nearer My God record, but thought their next album Draw Down The Moon was a little bit one-note, but this one is so varied and unique. I don't make too many unsolicited recommendations on here but I think a lot of you might like this, it's a return to their original midwest emo roots but with art rock and catchy hooks they have explored since mixed in. The top Youtube comment on this standout track sums it up well: "Oh we driving into oncoming traffic to this one boys"

Everything I’ve heard about Chappel Roan has been against my will, I didn’t even know who she was when that article came out about her issues with being famous. With this cancellation might look like she doesn’t want to be famous so fading back into obscurity might be a good thing.

With this cancellation might look like she doesn’t want to be famous so fading back into obscurity might be a good thing. She had such a meteoric rise it's probably very confronting to have the entire internet suddenly dissecting everything you do and say (especially for someone already with a mental health diagnosis). Stan culture is so stupid, and it would take a certain type of person to be able to cope with it. "Fading back into obscurity" is a harsh way of putting it, but I saw someone else suggest that it might be beneficial for her to follow the career arc of Carly Rae Jepsen who exploded onto the scene but then ended up in the a critically acclaimed pop girlie lane rather than cultural superstar.

I'm a sucker for early 2000s inspired pop-punk. I must have listened to a handful of songs by Like Roses 30 times over, over the last 24hrs.
This band hasn't broken though yet, but I'm going to call it, they will.

Absolute Elsewhere - Blood Incantation Saw people absolutely glazing this online and while I enjoyed it I would have enjoyed it more without the death metal elements and that’s as someone that likes Death Metal. Few artists can pull of a crazy genre switch but they seemed constrained to being a Death Metal band as all the other almost Pink Floyd style stuff was much more interesting.

I think I have found a new favorite band. These 3 are sisters from Mexico and the more I hear/see, the more impressed I am and the more I love them. Pau the drummer won a Drumeo award early this year.
I present to you The Warning:

I will be seeing them (with Halestorm & Evanessence) days before you on Oct 20th. I'm mostly excited for them and Halestorm. Less Evanessence because the last time I saw them I was disappointed but maybe they'll be better this time.

This song is pretty generic for me and it doesn't touch their older stuff but I am always happy to see this band back and maybe with a new album incoming. Def. grew up with this stuff in the mid to late 00's. I would say maybe my musical tastebuds maybe grew out of this as this song sounds like Vintage Breaking Benjamin but IDK I jumped back into their musical catalog and there was more clever tracks from them that didn't feel so formulaic as this one did.
Hoping maybe there's better tracks for me.

I agree about releasing music on Tuesdays again but for different reasons. See countless posts of “I pre-ordered this CD/vinyl and it got delayed” then the person had to wait until Monday to get the album when it defeats the purpose of pre-ordering.
At least if it doesn’t arrive Tuesday you can get still get mail on Wednesday. Same with gaming.

Dean Lewis new album came out on Friday - I preordered the vinyl and it’s not expected to arrive until Tuesday 😭 I haven’t listened to the album yet because I wanted to be better to really enjoy it, but they really should send the album out early with preorders so people can have it on the day

Stumbled upon this in my feeds and this is good stuff. Good voice, cute, NY/NJ based, hits all the checks tbh. She sang for Final Fantasy XIV and League of Legends: Arcane, two things I have no real interest in so she's pretty big but fell below the radar for me despite me being a gamer...until recently.

Chromakopia - Tyler, The Creator
I just need to accept Tyler doesn’t make music that’s appealing to me anymore, not that I highly rated his stuff on the first place but I’ll take his earlier stuff over whatever this is any day.

I saw Sum 41 on their retirement tour. Absolutely perfect show. They nailed it from start to finish. Played for over two hours, perfect setlist, the sound was great, phenomenal frontman, lots of bells and whistles. They even did a convincing second encore. It's fortunate it took me a while to get to the bathroom, otherwise I might have left without realising they came onstage to play a couple more songs.
Thanks for a fantastic career, Sum 41. You will be missed.

Thanks for this. After a few they all sound similar. Kind of reminds me of Avril Lavigne mixed with pop princess of your choice. I only added 7 Minutes in Hell & Pick Your Poison but good additions.

This is kinda cheating since these aren't 2024 songs but the acoustic versions were unreleased until recently. Such a damn shame these guys broke up(Or well the lead singer left the group), such a great group outta 'Straila. One of the closest things to a Mike Patton/Faith No More/Mr Bungle of 21st century group you would have gotten. Big fans of their work for a while, wish they caught on more.
EDIT: Oh band broke up entirely, that sucks. Really shitty.

Great anime+Ryo of KNOSIS(And formerly Crystal Lake)+Metalcore=great track. Might have to peep this album that came out earlier this year.
EDIT: Okay a mix of European & Aussie.

So I figured it out, the lead singer of this group has done a shit ton of great covers that I have listened to in the past, so that's where the connection lies.
Yeah so I listened to this album, absolutely fantastic. If you're familiar with Dance Gavin Dance and that type of Post-Hardcore music, you'll really dig this. So glad I am diving into this genre some more this year altogether. Perfect blend of screams/cleans, some songs are just relentless.
There hasn't been a poor track on this album for me, I am actually impressed. Great melodies/choruses, superb instrumental, nothing feels generic or rehashed. Such a fun listen altogether. Some tracks hit me harder than some others but pretty good altogether.

So I just gave Brooks and Dunn's Reboot II a listen too... I have to say I really dug it for the most part. Some interesting takes on classic songs, that in all honesty just really work well. My Top Three Rebooted SongsBoot Scootin' Boogie (w/ Halestorm) iron maiden, not sure if you've heard this take or not, but I would be interested in your thoughts on it. Play Some Country (w/ Lainey Wilson) Believe (w/ Jelly Roll*) *Actually, just got tickets earlier today, to see him in concert, for March 17th (Also seeing Kane Brown (again) on March 27th).
