TKO stock unaffected by this news. Investors seem to give no shits either way. If I was a TKO investor:

I do like that this has properly divided PW. Makes for fun discussion. I think it helps that PW is less smarky than Twitter or Reddit, so the ratio of Rock fans to Cody fans is more balanced. Even if the Rock fans are all still wrong.

Going to a Royal Rumble is still on my bucket list. I’d rather go to that then a Wrestlemania as crazy as that sounds.

I’m an old school wrestling fan and watching Rock vs Roman at Wrestlemania is what Wrestlemania is all about. Nobody is going to give a fuck in 10 years or at Roman’s HOF night that we got Cody/Roman 2 at WM. People will remember Rock/Roman.

There’s definitely an old school/new school divide in terms of which side of the fence people are falling on.
I don’t think there’s any chance Rock/Roman won’t be memorable, to be quite honest. The question is will it be fame or infamy.

At least carry the casual interest through to the end of the second night. I don’t even hate the idea of the match. I like the idea. Just not this year.

The fact it hasn’t impacted the price isn’t a good point for Rock supporters, it proves Cody fans right: Rock isn’t moving the needle in finances and he’s not going to help business. That talking point should be officially dead (even though is was silly to begin with given the earlier point WWE revenue is almost entirely fixed now).

Rooting for or against matches because of how much money it’s going to make already rich people is weird.

There are 2 big reasons I stopped going to WM (I can't speak for Rogue ) : 1) I wanted to see and do other things with the $3000-5000 I spent every Mania 2) I hated the other fans. Legit, straight up hated them after 5 Manias. Hated signs, but mostly hated their perceived sense of entitlement they felt they had over the wrestlers, the other fans and the show. Not once was it because I cared about what match I would see because we booked our travel packages around SummerSlam. Sure, I had my favorites and I always hoped, but honestly you are left with whatever hand you are dealt and overall I had the times of my life. Rogue and I still speak about doing a Rumble. I stopped going to bigger shows because of the assholes. I do mostly small local shows where that shit will get you tossed.

The only thing I dislike at smaller local shows is having one of the dudes next to me mansplain wrestling to me. I mean, it's RT, so I try to be nice...

Meltzer thinks HHH is martyring Cody on purpose, but didn’t bank on Rock getting booed. I don’t understand that - it’s symbiotic. Just like it was for Dave Batista when he got the spot over Bryan. I think there’s a chance that we’re not understanding the full picture here one way or another.

That talking point should be officially dead (even though is was silly to begin with given the earlier point WWE revenue is almost entirely fixed now). If you believe WM will be bigger you would hold your stocks to sell after the earnings from it are made public. If you believe it not be as strong without Cody you would sell now before others realize this too. Not sure how revenue is a moot point either, the sponsorships were signed with the Rock being there. Millions of dollars coming in there from the Rock. When he resigned he gave them back merch rights, which they expect to make another few million at least. Sure Cody sells a lot of shirts, but all this cash is on top of what Cody would have made headlining. They got all the cash they can out of Cody, the Rock cash is on top of whatever he could have made. Again feels like everyone is hating on the Rock because WWE did not just book Cody to lose the Rumble. Decision comes above the Rock here even for who will headline, and fans should get used to this. WWE no longer has full control of the company and when needed stories will change whether they like it or not as that is what happens when you sell majority rights to someone else.

Have Rock bring back corporate Rock leading to a match between the two down the line. Let Rock be the evil authority figure of WWE. And if need be, explain to people that wrestlers play characters on TV.

Sex scandal barely moved the price. Drop about 4 points, but still up 15 since the Netflix deal. People are holding right now. Clearly they are playing the long game. Stock is listed as a moderate buy as well.

And if you think a few million for shirts (allegedly) offset The Rock’s fee, you’re also crazy.

I think there’s a chance that we’re not understanding the full picture here one way or another. I want Big Dave to come back and play on his Drax character. He could get huge boos in the ring with Cody and genuinely believe they are booing Cody. I don’t know what that has to do with anything but I really love Drax and Big Dave.

If people truly believed this was going to kill WWE, and destroy the value of WWE like many are claiming, the stock price should fall. That is how the market works.
