It was CLEARLY a Will Smith/Jada Pinkett joke. Either it was that bad of a joke (which it probably was), or UT is Bizarro Drax whose reflexes are so bad everything goes over his head.

Morbius: It was ok at best, several scenes in the trailer either aren’t in the film or have been altered. Didn’t have high expectations with the amount of delays. Also for those expecting a certain cameo
Andrew Garfield isn’t in it.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2: Dragged on a lot as well as most of the jokes falling flat for me, definitely a different vibe seeing it in an almost empty theatre as opposed to the pre-lockdown original. Just seemed to go in a more “kids movie” direction than a movie for everyone though a few references are aimed at people 30+.
Shadow mid credits scene was cool though

I normally hate when people yell stuff out/react out loud in movies but I feel like this would have been a completely different vibe in a packed session with people reacting or even laughing at the jokes.
Session of a few people was completely silent, film
was different but not necessarily good. Maybe has more impact in a puritanical place like the US, but it was just gross in parts not shocking.
I did like that all the characters weren’t portrayed in a negative light & you understood their motivations for doing/filming porn. Rather than going the route of annoying people you want to die

Cheaper by the Dozen (2022) - This seemed to pop up on Disney+ to watch, didn't realise they were rebooting this Franchise, I enjoyed the previous 2 with Steve Martin in them, and this one goes in a different direction with Zack Braff being the dad in this one. This one felt different, as it was more of a one divorced family and another divorced family marry, and then join families and have to navigate the complexities of all of it....oh.....and a sprinkle of current culture, surrounding race.
It's a good family movie, if you family lot are looking for something to watch.

So We Need to Talk About Kevin got much better after those annoyingly jarring first 30 minutes or so. Much better pace and flow as the movie went along and I got pretty hooked in. Great acting jobs by everyone involved - especially the two Kevins. God I hate that kid.
I knew half of the ending going in with the school but didn’t see the other ending coming at all. That was a punch in the gut and broke my heart a bit. Also the other actual ending - not sure I could even look that kid in the face much less hug him.
Started out looking like a 4/10 but ended up being like a 7.5/10. Without the first part being that way it was it would probably be closer to 9/10.

Now you have me pondering whether I should go back on my word to myself and re-watch to see what was up with the first 30 minutes. I wonder if I had the same reaction once upon a time too, but then the rest was so devastatingly upsetting and thus gripping that I've blocked out the poorer bits? Wife swears by the book. Apparently it's written as letters from the mom to Kevin or something. It's apparently a little disjointed. I wonder if that might've been the vibe then that the movie was trying to go for in the first act?

Did not like We Need to Talk About Kevin. Tilda Swinton was good, but and the adaptation was well done, but the book I thought was lacking. Thought went very not doing a school shooting and the warning signs were all very tame. The twist was all that saved it for me. I think sooner or later someone will make some minor changes and will get an oscar for a remake.
My top never again film is Nymphomaniac hands down. Amazing film, that I never watched start to finish a second time. Then again it is a big ask with a 5.5 hour run time.
Charlotte Gainsbourg though was unreal in this film. Absolutely fucked over by the academy for not giving her even a token nomination. I mean she even had a fucking song in that film...

In the past couple weeks I've watched Foxy Brown and Ava. I guess I'm on a badass-women-getting-revenge kick.
Foxy Brown is a classic and holds up. People today may have a problem with the forcible-heroin-use-and-implied-rape scene. Foxy's ultimate revenge on the baddies is probably the most hardcore ever.
Ava is fine. Badass assassin is targeted by her own organization and kills everyone.

Found out yesterday Netflix still has their DVD program going. Does anyone still use it? I imagine it's the best way to get movies that aren't on streaming.
