I loved Letterkenny.
But, when it's " on " - it's magic. When it's not on its game, it's rubbish. Some stuff is just, WTF.. why did you bother filming this?
Shorsey has been too much of a success not to run with it full time.

Just binged Cunk on Earth...havent laughed that hard in a while. Basicaly a bbc mocumentry about the rise of civilisation but given as dead pan as possible and written by someone with a brain injury.
Throughout they interview professers and historians and im sure each of them regret all there life choices by the end.
Perfect way to waste away a few hours.

Finally got around to Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, and c was pretty spot on with his thoughts. The best non-spoilery or slightly spoilery way I can think of to describe it is, imagine replaying a game but instead of starting by going left you go right instead. Same characters, same vibes, same general scenario but plays out in a different way.4
I think KJ read the books and saw/disliked the movie, curious on your thoughts?
Slowly making my way through Good Omens s2, and need to figure out what to check out after that

Crazy memory! Haha I loved the show. It was a fantastic look at the series and very true to the feel of the books. I also, in hindsight, low key love the movie.

Percy Jackson show on Disney+ is fantastic, especially as a lover of the books. Just as good, if not better.

Always felt like The Curse was saving up something big for the finale, I didn't realise it would change so drastically and wind up being a Twilight Zone esque finale.
I really enjoyed it and while I can see how it ties into earlier episodes, it feels like it completely over-shadows everything that came before it.

Ted.
The prequel series to the movies of the same name.
It is set in 1993, during John's Jr year in High School and follows John and Ted as they attend high school together.
Scott Grimes as the dad, Matty steals every scene. He is hilarious as a angry old fashioned, bigoted Vietnam Vet. His line about plums had me in tears.
To combat all the Bostonisms is John's cousin Blaire, the liberal literature major who is a in constant back and forth with the entire family.
There's some real lol moments. It's non stop Family Guy type humour, naturally.

Mom and I just binged watched Season 1 of So Help Me Todd with Season 2 starting back up Feb 15. I love Marcia Gay Harden and she and Jesse Astin are wonderful together in this. He plays her 'fuck up' of a child trying to regain his life after his former boss entangles him in some legal BS and he loses his PI licence. His mom is a criminal lawyer who throws him a bone when her investigator goes on maternity leave. There's lots of different dynamics going on and you can usually figure out the 'who done it' of the episode fairly quickly, but it's fun getting there with definite laugh out loud moments. Of course most of it would never be admissible or allowed in real life, but like most shows you just need to take it with a grain of salt. Season 1 set up a bunch of different storylines/characters that could be used later on in the show. Smart.

Poor Better Call Saul.
Last night at the Emmys, the show set a rather dubious record.
53 nominations for its entire run, not a single win.

Started the Sopranos. Might be the only person alive who liked Many Saints, and that's probably because I haven't seen the show yet...
Oh my god though @ the mom. If Dad passes first that's totally gonna be my experience. Fuck...

If Dad passes first that's totally gonna be my experience. Fuck... I liked Many Saints thought it was fine prequel. I definitely fell in love with Sopranos, last watchthrough I guess was early 2022 I was able to make it through season 4, season 5 is a nice reward for that with Robert Loggia as Feech Lamana and Steve Buschemi as Tony's cousin, it's a fun ride. On this second watchthrough I remember coming away with thinking all of season 6 and 7 was a waste of time, but damn that last episode was brilliant. Absolutely adore the first 3 seasons, peak of the show. Pay attention to one small thing in that how really stupid little Carmine Jr. is, cliche'd lines and stuff that he tries to use but says wrong, the "whatever happened there" scene, whole character is subtle comedy gold.

I just rewatched Season 2 of The Sopranos. It’s not the best of the seasons (probably season 4 or 5?), but it’s kind of perfect for the early version of the show which has a little more emphasis on the comedy before David Simon felt almost like a vendetta to make Tony and his crew as miserable as possible.
Knowing someone’s watching for first time I won’t go too much further, but really enjoy the intro of Richie Aprile as a fun headache for Tony, love Livia and Junior, Parvati going back to Janice, the Scatino bust out, etc. just a madcap season for a show that became much more intense later.
Not sure if I’ll keep watching, lots of things I should try out like the new season of Fargo, but I did blip into season 3 yesterday. The binge is too easy.

Not sure if I’ll keep watching, lots of things I should try out like the new season of Fargo, but I did blip into season 3 yesterday. The binge is too easy. The new season of Fargo is excellent. We binged it last week and have two episodes left for when I am back from my shift. Whole cast is amazing from top to bottom. Easily the best season since the first. I'm on a Sopranos re-watch myself. Needed something to throw on while I make dinner when I am up north. So I watch an episode a night unless the Leafs are playing or I'm watching wrestling. Almost through season 4. I still think season 2 is my favourite and would say its the best, but none of the best episodes of the show are in that season, which is weird. I dunno how to explain it. Like I can watch season 2 all the way through without being bored, but if I ranked my top episodes I don't think any from that season would be in there. Yet pretty much all the other seasons have skippable episodes imo. Not that I would because I love the show but you know what I mean. Maybe. Has anyone watched the new season of True Detective yet? I'm hearing good things. We are going to start it after finishing Fargo. Might as well keep the depression train rolling.

Yesterday I learned that the second season of Kengan Ashura was finally on Netflix after waiting for four years, so I signed back up for Netflix. I really like this show, my complaint is that the seasons are so slow and short. Have you watched Baki, I think if you like one you will probably like the other. I just finished Reacher season 2 and it stretched the bounds of believability more than the first but enjoyable. Also just finished Echo, what a great series. Everyone at Marvel should be forced to watch this to learn how to portray a strong independent female character without needing to make some tired political statement.

I have never skipped an episode when rewatching but I might start in the future and this episode will definitely be one of them. At the very least it is going to be background noise while I stare at my phone or do something else. It's so stupid. The only good scene is at the end when they are driving back from the casino. That conversation is one of the funniest in the series.

To me season 4 is terrible all the way, but the worst episode is for sure the one with the old lady singing happy birthday Mr. President

One thing I'm enjoying about Sopranos is the time period, so reliving things like DVD PLAYERS (certified early 2000s classic) and Mario Kart SIXTY FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUR.

My favorite line from that scene, his disinterest in the DVD player because there were not enough movies out on DVD yet only newer releases. His guy replies saying yeah but the sound quality is the best: “Oh great cus there’s nothin better than popping up some Orville Reddenbacher and watching Men In Black” just the way he says it 🤣 That was so me back when I would go shopping for 4K blu rays when I got that set up early on when the tech was brand new

I like Jon Stewart, he and Bill Maher (who I mostly don't like) are two of the few comedians who are happy to pot shot both sides while being liberal. Stewart can be an insufferable prick at times, so we will see what version of him we get... I do think he won't fall into the corporate line and tow the message the same way Colbert did making him irrelevant.
