Yesterday afternoon was a spring-like 61F. When I woke up for work this morning it had plummeted to 30 and the ground was covered with our first snow of the year. Crazy conditions here in the Old Line State.

We have been experiencing a deep freeze here. Usually we get a week or two in Jan/Feb but this has been ongoing for a couple weeks now.
Had a bit of a reprieve on Sunday at -11C/+12F but now we are back to the freeze with a another week of -30C weather. Ugh.

Well, after having the warmest New Year on record, we've had snow today.
Very weird crap.

We were expecting 4-5" for today. I set my alarm a few hours early in case I needed to unbury the car, drive slow af and then prepare the buidling because hard-rs would still insist on checking their PO boxes in a snowstorm. We have a company that will plow it, but if they haven't arrived I gotta shovel and salt. I finally got the snowblower to start (made it my mission to figure it out yesterday). I was actually looking forward to using it, but then this morning there was no white so I said fuck it and stayed in bed until my usual time.
As I left work today we started seeing flurries. Guess it could just be a day delay. Fuck snow in it's tight juicy ass.

Past week - fire and 100 MPH winds burning the city down, snow, sunny, snow. That's horrible. Where are you Gyro LC? My car is frozen so I'm stuck at home until it gets nicer and I can pop the hood to get a boost. Shucks.

My car is frozen so I'm stuck at home until it gets nicer and I can pop the hood to get a boost. Shucks. It happened just outside of Denver. I am a bit to the south so I wasn't affected. It was heading towards my parents' house but the winds petered out before they got a pre-evac notice.

Absolutely ridiculous what people will drive in. Back window completely covered in ice... how is that a good idea to drive in? No one clearing off the tops either so sheets of ice go flying. Even had my first honk/middle finger exchange with some idiot who thought hey I'm in the left turn lane but hey why not turn right. Been driving since 16 and never so much as used my horn. For fuck's sake, this area doesn't deserve a super bowl win.

Summer here has been all over the place, it’s like Melbourne weather here.
Can be a clear blue sky on a scorching hot day then an hour later it’s pouring rain and miserable, then back to clear blue skies.
It’s annoying to plan around, just either rain all day or be sunny all day not both

Pouring rain almost every night for the last 3 weeks, some sunshine during the day but that’s about it. Several areas of Queensland & Sydney flooded (I’m in the Hunter valley in NSW) so counting my blessings but it doesn’t look far from that scenario here too. Near where I live (roadwork has nothing to do with flood) Is a road underneath all the water ^

Yesterday we had a record high of 77. When I woke up this morning it was down to 36 and extremely windy. That's Maryland in March for ya. Reminds me of my days playing high school baseball. It would be in the 60s-70s when we started practice and flurries by the end just a few hours later.

Rains almost every day here now, I have no idea how people who live in countries where it rains all the time do it because it’s definitely taking a mental toll on me
I guess it’s just a shock from it being sunny 80% of the time in the past.

Cold and windy again here in Maryland. We keep getting teased by spring only to have temperatures plummet and snow flurries return as they did yesterday afternoon. It was in the 20s and windy last night and this morning.

I did two years of meteorology for my college sciences and the shit that is showing up on front maps is absolutely insane. Like the past few weeks in North America the weather is doing shit it should not normally do with multiple fronts collapsing on each other and the fronts cycloning out over the Atlantic. Pretty scary as if they collapse just a little sooner it will be over NYC or DC into super nasty storms. Basically Northeasters minus the blizzard.

Another day of rain scheduled tomorrow, max of 18 degrees (64.4f) Arrive in Dubai on Wednesday when it will be 38 degrees (100.4f) without a cloud in the sky. Curious to see how I handled the heat I’ve lived in parts of outback Australia for years throughout my life, can’t imagine the desert heart is much worse (famous last words).

Flooding in this area again, government spent 1.5 million to raise this road instead of building a bridge and as pictured it’s worked wonders: Some train lines are stopped due to flooding and other areas being evacuated. Crazy this is the 3rd time it has flooded this year, I’m moving to the desert 🐪. I live in in the Hunter Valley (about 1 1/2 drive from Sydney) but this is insane:

Very grateful to say I’m safe & sound, area I live isn’t that bad but almost all surrounding areas are flooded and entries into suburb I live are flooded. Area sandylea’s mother and stepfather live in is flooded at both exits, as aforementioned area they’ve paid over a million to fix from flooding has worked wonders: Thankfully said area is much more developed now as it had a housing boom so more shops etc they can access, which wasn’t the case in previous years when it flooded. my brother works in that area and had to be taken home by SES boat. You’d think with all the rapid boost to the area they’d consider building a bridge but i digress. This is about 5 mins down the road from me, main way to get to suburb I live in, can access it via one other route correctly but that’s at risk of flooding too. Pretty bad when searching “Hunter flood 2022” gives you 3 different occurrences.

Expensive, wild ass kangaroos and the water is being all disrespectful.
Australia looks appealing and scary.
So they always say Miami florida or California completely.
Is Australia gonna be Atlantis? On fire, under water... all the elements.

On fire, under water... all the elements. Of all the hype Australian animals get, there’s only one animal in Australia that strikes fear deep into my heart: During spring this things will attack people relentlessly, taken out peoples eyes and other horrific stuff. Made riding my book to school an absolute nightmare when I lived in Cobar (outback NSW, more so the climate you see portrayed in movies.)
