I always assumed a good chunk of outrage and maybe what lt is getting at is you would never in a million years see a Tampax version of the Gillette issue. I would love to witness the outrage of Venus telling women they can do better. You mean like every ad we've been subjected to since we've been born about being the perfect woman? No, we wouldn't know what that's like at all. Fucking thank you. Ads geared towards women are the most passive aggressive shaming on the planet. It’s getting better but it’s still horrible and has been since ads became a thing.

The ad was a flash in the pan, only the outrage is perpetuating it and that is arguably dead. But the notion that women's adverts have been entirely about women not being perfect is rather myopic. Especially in recent years. Female empowerment has been the hot trend for a few years now. To be fair almost all adverts focus on your life being inadequate without their product. Want the girl? Buy this car. Want the girl? Buy this Nordicflex etc etc. I would argue it's equal opportunity degradation to sell you shit you don't need.

(Which is still not a great thing) They don't wag their finger at women and outright tell them how much they suck.

There's no need to start a gender war about commercials. theend already hit the nail on the head. To be fair almost all adverts focus on your life being inadequate without their product. Women are never beautiful/fashionable enough, men are never handsome/muscular enough.

I apologize for the Australian accent. Pitch and tone isn't something we do well.

Ironically now women's magazines and ad's are created almost exclusively by women... And men may not always treat women well, but nobody treats women worse than other women. Of course that's all men's fault because they fire patriachy beams out of their testicles in a 360 degree direction.

NATH45 I’ve really enjoyed her videos, especially the one about the film Blackkklansmen. AJ Styles was on Louder with Crowder for anyone interested.
