No Liverpool but Birmingham has been home for the last 9 years, so I get to Villa Park a few times a season. A game of two halves to use the cliche, with an amazing last 10 mins. Grealish is such a nice & intelligent footballer to watch but Villa don’t have much else.

Watch any of the European games? Spurs/Leipzig was the best of the three I saw - impressed with Leipzig, they're a nice team to watch. Great in possession and really should have scored two or three had Werner had his finishing boots on.

I did, both Liverpool & Spurs. I have to say, I’ve always enjoyed Athletic approach, especially in the CL, just the masters at ‘shithousery’. The second leg at Anfield should be fun. It’s a shame the Dortmund game was on at the same time, young Haaland ripping it up again! Spurs are very lucky to still be in with a shout.

A little bit of an indulgent post here that I'm guessing that nobody will understand too much! Except maybe for Todd (if anyone else is a member here from the old PW, and the TBG subby then I apologise!) So at least 10 years ago, possibly more, it was decided that the TBG subby needed a communal side that we could all support and get behind. We somehow ended up with a non-league side, Kettering. What followed was years of misery for Kettering as they went bankrupt, and plummeted through the non-league ranks. The reason I bring this up is that with Coronavirus, the sporting programme here in England has been decimated. Non-league football however survived this weekend and went ahead, so I decided as I'm not going to be able to see my team anytime soon I would go and see my local team - AFC Telford. And as fate would have it, they were at home to none other than Kettering. So today I went and watched my first ever Kettering game, at least a decade after they came to my attention through the old PW site. As I say, I'm sure nobody will find this interesting but when I saw that was the game it immediately took my memory back to the old site.

Suppose the world restarts in July and we are allowed to have sports again in august. I read the FA said the current season must be finished before the next one start. Is that feasible? Why not just call the season at its current point? There's no way Liverpool blows their lead, Norwich sucks just relegate them. Or fuck, just don't relegate anyone and bring up Leeds and the Baggies and run next season with two extra teams, cancel the league cup so they can handle the extra games in the year.

I think there's too much money involved in relegation & European qualification for them to call the season finished, too many teams would be disadvantaged. Even from Liverpool's perspective it's not ideal, having the title they've waited so long for tarnished because it wasn't a proper season. Even if it's still a while before they can play again I don't see completion being a particularly big problem (beyond all the background logistics like sponsorships and contracts), they can play the remaining games within a month.

So the Belgium league cancelled their season and declared whoever was at the top the champion. And the UEFA makes a statement they've now risked being banned from European competition next year because they didn't consult with UEFA. Someone at UEFA has an ego issue.

I don't think it's really an ego issue. UEFA obviously have to play a key role to keep everyone's calendar as unified as possible to be able to move things forward. Recommencing the Champions League becomes much more difficult if you have individual countries moving ahead at different speeds.

We've got a restart date - June 17! Heaps of midweek games scheduled to hopefully have the season completed by August 2.
Serie A is also looking to resume the same weekend, whereas Ligue 1 will not return.

For the first time ever, live Premier League football on the BBC - Burnley v Crystal Palace!!!

As much as I've enjoyed the Bundesliga the last couple of weeks, I cant wait for the Prem to be back. Gutted I'm not going to see Wolves live again for the seeable future. Bern offered a part refund on this seasons season ticket, or a deduction on next seasons. Will probably take the deduction but god knows when I'll be able to attend again

You were almost dead on daveymolz, the first BBC game is Bournemouth vs Palace. The transfer market has really started to heat up again with some of the big boys trying to load up and get closer to Liverpool. Chelsea now have Werner and Ziyech coming, and are apparently one of a number of clubs trying to get Havertz, while United are linked heavily to Sancho and van der Beek.

8m for David Luiz apparently Money well spent. Harsh. I’ve always been a Luiz apologist but that was bad yesterday. Can’t see him being kept on past this season. Villa got away with one in the early game but that was a game they needed to win with the fixtures they’ve got coming up. Really looking forward to Spurs Utd on Friday night.
