Very deserving #1, Star Wars wasn't just a movie, it was a cultural landmark. No movie made a bigger impression on my childhood. I showed it to my daughter and she absolutely LOVED it. It still holds up to this day.
Original cut is still the best though. Han shot first damn it!

My List
1. The Godfather 2. The Godfather Part II 3. Jaws 4. Taxi Driver 5. Chinatown 6. Mean Streets 7. Manhattan 8. Network 9. Annie Hall 10. Star Wars 11. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest 12. The Deer Hunter 13. Kramer vs. Kramer 14. Rocky 15. Grease
Surprised Mean Streets didn't make it, thought that would be a film right up PW's alley. Maybe lots of people haven't seen it.

If I had to do this over again having now finally watched Sting, and also given some further reflection based on discussion in this countdown... My list probably ends up looking like this:

1. Dersu Uzala - DERSU UZALA2. A Clockwork Orange 3. Conformist, The - Absolute masterpiece. No question about it. Incredibly gripping, dramatic, and well-shot character study of a man living in fascist Italy and dealing with all that entails.4. Duck, You Sucker - This is the most underrated Sergio Leone movie by far. I had barely heard anything about it when I watched it but it is up there on the same bar as the Dollars trilogy. James Coburn is one of the best performers I've ever seen and easily rivals Eastwood.5. Deer Hunter, The 6. Murder on the Orient Express 7. Long Goodbye, The 8. Manhattan 9. Sting, The 10. Network 11. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest 12. Apocalypse Now 13. Taxi Driver 14. Chinatown 15. All the President’s Men And...six movies of mine made it on the list. Well, that's not too bad. The problem is only TWO of my top ten made it. The other four were in the final five. Lame. You all are SLEEPING on Dersu Uzala. Dersu Uzala GOAT. Dersu is my main man. He'll Uzala all a ya.

I bit the bullet and browsed PW on my phone after hearing all the horror stories. Turns out it's not bad at all. I've had a travel nightmare today, so thank you all for filling my idle airport hours with some good chat. Lionheart trying to troll me with Harry Potter and instead pissing off everybody else and converting this 70s movie thread into a Harry Potter discussion is amazing. Well done! Strobe, please tell me about your #1 pick. Mobile version or no? I love the mobile version. Full is crap on my phone.

Maybe it defaulted to the mobile version?

Strobe, please tell me about your #1 pick. It is the only film that when it finished, I just sat staring into space for about an hour, thinking about everything really. Had a profound effect and I've read of others having a similar experience. I'm sure many consider it pseudo-intellectual (I'm not in on this joke here so unsure how jokey or serious it is being taken) but it is just a beautifully crafted film.

On it's own merits, Last Jedi isn't a bad film at all. But as a continuation of the Star Wars story it's complete bollocks.

I noticed a distinct lack of Clint Eastwood love on this countdown. I mean seriously this was one of his best decades
-Kelly Heroes -Dirty Harry -Magnum Force -The Enforcer -Two Mules for Sister Sara -High Plains Drifter -The Outlaw Josey Wales -Every Which Way But Loose -Escape From Alcatraz
I mean damn. That's a pretty impressive list for one actor.
