From what I understand, People were stuffing 5 sheets of toilet paper inside their mask as an air filter..and many people saw that people were buying heaps of TP and followed suit.

Then everyone else seeing everyone was stockpiling TP..bought some as well before it ran out. Every supermarket in my area is out of stock with signs saying it’s now limited to 4 packs per person etc.

Well huge setback on the Corona vaccination Trump been talking about at rallies. Turns out Trump's solution was just to give everyone the flu vaccine. Apparently he did not understand why the flu vaccine cannot just be used for both.

Trump just said people will get better without seeing a doctor and going to work as normal. US healthcare at it's finest.

Well my town got the virus. Hospital worker too. Should get fun fast. Then again I was just REALLY sick with a weird flu for a few weeks so maybe already immune.

I just got over the flu and last thing I need is some beer virus trying for Round 2 on me.

He's not wrong, people should only visit the doctor in the USA if they're dying of pneumonia and have a kidney to sell.

I'm of the opinion that this is a done thing now so just get it over with, might as well get sick before the hospitals are full than die in a hospital corridor.

It's problematic because we don't know if people actually recover or what the long term effects are. Could stay in people like HIV which would be a total pain in the ass, but not the normal ass pain associated with HIV.

Aparrently the DNA code of this virus is ridiculously long.

We know the long terms effects. We seen this virus a few times before. It was SAR and MERS basically. It is basically a flu that we have no vaccine for and has a higher mortality rate for ages 60+ when it progresses to pneumonia, which is not treated fast leads to multiple organ failure. It can be treated though if caught soon enough, so most of the world is ok. The US not so much, but people with affordable healthcare should be fine.

For a pandemic it is fairly tame. This is no plague or cholera for sure. This will kill more people than the flu this year, but over a 10 period the flu will kill twice as many assuming Covid-19 is a one time thing.

That said if anyone has elderly parents, watch them carefully. Mortality rate for under 50 is below .5 percent. But at 70 it jumps to 8% and 80 around 15%. So if they show any signs get them to a doctor. Once it hits pneumonia in the elderly things go south fast. While most people do not need to worry, 70+ absolutely do as they tend to wait too long to seek healthcare, and there is a point of no return for this.

With Trump ignoring all the public health warnings about the Coronavirus could be a 1 in 6 six chance Pence is president by the election. The administration was close to a few cases already.

3800+ dead, considering this was a virus no one had heard of at Christmas time.

China on lockdown, Italy on lockdown.. we have sanitation police out and about wiping, and spraying everything in Australia. There's no toilet paper either.

The death count is still extremely low. Since infection is exponential deaths will ramp up over the next couple of months. Final numbers are estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands for deaths. Stock Market enacted flash crash protection this morning stocks dropped so hard on fears.

CPAP guest had COVID-19 possibly exposing many senate and administrations in the high risk group. Gonna be interesting what happens with that.

Also self-quarantine in the US is failing horribly. May see more drastic policy implemented as the deaths increase here.

Coronavirus: Italy in 'massive shock therapy' pledge to offset virus impact

Italy's government has pledged to further increase spending in a "massive shock therapy" to offset the economic impact of the coronavirus outbreak.

The country is struggling to adapt to the most restrictive measures since World War Two, introduced on Sunday.

Up to 16 million people in northern Italy now need permission to travel under quarantine rules.

With 366 deaths now confirmed, Italy is the worst-hit country in the world after China.

Well, the western world is invincible, that’s why. No really, it would be to curb mass hysteria, ie; bulk toilet paper buying.

I’d be concerned if a month from now, the death count had doubled and every month it doubled again, then within a year, we’re in some serious trouble.

Two people now in the Trump inner exposed and quarantined. Trump also now afraid that journalists will deliberately send infected people onto air force one to infect him.

But guys just wash your hands. Just like thoughts and prayers works for gun violence, wash your hands will work for public health.

Final death toll should be around 500k if this peaks and burns itself out. If we get a treatment out before then it will be substantially lower outside of the US. US is likely to be hit very badly due to our labor laws and health care. Like third world levels of death that turn nursing homes into plague wards.

But Trump is planning to try for another major tax cut so the rich can pay for private healthcare.  The average person will likely not see much change from this though, so fuck you poor people you can just die and not burden the rest of the people anymore.
