Well, delta reaching fourth wave status in the US. Massive outbreaks all over now.

Moderna vaccine loses efficiency against delta and they are rushing out a third booster for the winter. Pfizer seems to be holding it's own so they are working on a vaccine for kids. Neither offer much protection for people who did the one and dose dosing and skipped the booster.

Restrictions already coming back in liberal parts of the US and with masks and social distancing returning. In the more conservative parts of the US, they are going to let it spread as they have no idea how to convince people to get vaccinated. Congress has no idea how to get people vaccinated when you got people like Tucker on TV every night telling them that they should do nothing to combat COVID, despite Tucker being vaccinated, and isolating himself.

Believed by the end of winter US will have a clean million deaths. Expected the majority of them will be the unvaccinated. Guess this solves the problem of sending kids back to school. No need to worry if their parents will just bring the virus home with them and infect them anyway. Hospitals now in some states already nearing capacity again with talk of field hospitals.

Despite all this, in many states, people believe the epidemic is over.

Australia is literally turning back the clock, repeating July/August 2020. This 5 day lockdown is about to turn into 5 weeks.

Had a bit of a scare as over the last two days I suddenly had a wicked cough, heavy lung congestion, shortness of breath and then spiked a fever. Not a great time when having strep is a relief.

In a one day semi-quarantine to try to keep from sharing it. My wife’s had strep several years in a row now as a byproduct of having a seven year old and it hits her pretty bad. Meanwhile I feel fine, just run down and like I have a heavy cold.

My pulmonologist I see weekly says that the new COVID is manifesting like strep, at least in the cases he sees. But you had COVID and IIRC got vaccinated. Between the two should be covered for a while.

I was real sick last week, with a bad cold. Freaked like all my doctors out and I have to get a COVID test tomorrow now to do a sleep study on Tues. Feel better though now, so, I am guessing COVID it was not.


I would say now 30 percent or so of the US would lockdown again now if they could. The two people I know with stores both said they would do masks again but are afraid of violence in their stores against their employees. No way areas lockdown again here without the conservative side rioting. They believed COVID was over, and now restrictions are lifted, putting them back into place so soon may just ignite people's frustrations.


US is left in a no win situation. Tucker and Fox seem to want to push Biden to censoring them, and they are using vaccine disinformation to do it. Last week Biden's plan to send in people to knock on doors and offer to vaccinate people in their homes Fox said was a cover for federal agents to come to into your homes to take your bibles and guns. Of course no reasonable person will believe this courts will find, but seems a lot of Americans are freaking out over it. Insane we will likely let 400k more die, so Fox can get better ratings though.

In the county I live in in NM today we have 19 new cases today which isn’t to bad but haven’t look how many new cases we have in the state I live in general and I think it’s 60+% are vaccinated in the state of NM and almost 70% are vaccinated in the county of NM as of stand right now and we just have our restriction lifted not that long ago and NM are one of the most strictest state since this shit started last year too.

Don’t think lockdown works but people even wear a damn mask nor social distance and refuse to get a vaccine and Tucker and Fox News can fuck off.

Number is likely closer to 90, as immunocompromised deaths are tallied via the immunocompromising factor (cancer, AIDS, ect), but still the vast majority are simply vaccine refusals at this point.  Project around the numbers a bit, and looking at 100 million people refusing vaccines though, so the death count is still relatively low, but also means we can see years still to come for COVID.

I wouldn’t say it that way for sure. It’s likely they had other conditions, but absent Covid I don’t know that diabetes, asthma, or being overweight were killing these folks anytime soon, and I have a “comorbidity” or two myself…

Even just waiting the pneumonia out can be fatal.  Pneumonia itself kills people without preexisting conditions each year.  Mix with COVID hitting other areas of the body as well and it can be nasty shit.  

And yeah, these days pre-existing conditions are basically anything that gives an abnormal blood count, most of which are stable conditions that people do not know they have.  The reports that claim most COVID deaths have preexisting conditions are very dishonest about what the scope of pre-existing is.

New signs at stores in CT today asking people to wear masks, but not mandating them.  Most people were masked.  All federal stuff here just extended mask mandates.  Social distancing markers were redone in stores as well, after being removed a few weeks back.

Buddy in LA said they just put mask requirements back and people are raging.  Masks should not be needed, but since most unvaccinated people claim they are vaccinated to not wears masks, unless people are checking cards, which are easily faked anyway, there is not much to do other than mask everyone back up or letting it spread.  About 20 states have laws now that only allow the governor or state congress to issue mask mandates, so LA and Vegas will be exceptions in asking people to remask.

And this is why the US cannot return to mask mandates. LA Sherriff refuses to enforce the mask mandate as he does not support the law and said it will be treated as if the mandate is still voluntary. Because this is America and cops are the ones who make the laws, not the politicians.

Hannity nightly now has been telling people to get vaccinated. So curious how this plays out. Will people get vaccinated or will they turn on him entirely. Tucker still questioning the vaccine and will not publicly even admit he got it. MTG just took a 12 hour twitter ban for saying unless you are obese or old COVID is no threat to you so Q land still not cool with the vaccine.

Makes sense Hannity turned. Dead people don't vote and he is smart enough to know that. Also at some point he needs to cover his ass. Seems more and more of late he is willing to break with Q while remaining loyal to Trump. Which again makes sense since Trump does not give a shit about Q so long as they worship him, so Hannity can do his own thing, and long as he pleases Trump, Q does not matter to him.

Tucker seems willing to go down with the ship with Q, which also makes sense, since rumors are he may be looking to leave to move to Newsmax where he can get other reports to back his reports, which Fox reporters will not do.

Hannity's reason for the change of heart on vaccines has been revealed. The Biden team contacted him directly and asked him to promote vaccines. Fox in general advised their news team to promote vaccines as well, which is why Tucker has spent so much time trashing them in recent broadcasts.

If I choose to not have the vaccine that is my business and nobody elses (I have my second shot booked for next week)

If you are against the Covid vaccine you have to be okay with the government opening up and letting the unvaccinated get sick, you have no right to complain.

I don't understand the anti-vax mentally, so many people will happily smoke and take drugs aware of the dangers, but a little vaccine is too much to handle.

Freedom of choice means one group has freedom at the expense of others.  I mean, should Americas who refuse vaccination be able to come to Australia in the near future?  They are pushing to reopen the world to tourism without vaccination limitations.  Should they not have the freedom of choice to come to the country without vaccination?

Google literally sends me an e-mail once a month to let me know what cities I've been to.

Was reading an interesting article earlier that if the anti-vax movement persists, health insurance and life insurance groups may end up dropping people who refuse vaccines. They are losing money hand over fist in the past few months primarily from people who are not vaccinated as they break the risk models for pricing.
