When I pointed out to my boomer-ass parents how much shittier America is compared to most developed European countries, I thought my father was going to have a heart attack. Did you get any version of don't like it leave?

I got the old "Why are they coming to America for Health Care" and "why are Cubans getting on doors and paddling to America" when A) that first one is a fucking myth, which I explained to them, and B) They just fucking AREN'T. There's been a severe downturn in legal and illegal immigration into the United States in the past three years, probably because the President is a raging white supremacist.

Been reading about Bloomberg's rise. With Biden's fall, Bloomberg is moving fast into the Hillary role. Will be a lot closer at the DNC but if Biden drops he has a good shot at taking Bernie even if the people vote otherwise. Bloomberg is pumping insane amounts of money and manpower into the election now that it appears Joe cannot secure a win with a plan to use the South and Midwest to counter Bernie's support from main state liberals.
Also unlike the other campaigns, Bloomberg is reportedly heavily investing in a data science team to use Trump style analytics in the election. The other campaigns, and democrats as a whole, have been very slow to adopt this. So he could actually beat Trump by playing Trump's own game.
Curious to see how far he goes. Do not like him politically, but he is playing a very smart game.

If Donald Trump didn't exist, Michael Bloomberg would run as a Republican, same as Joe Biden. Fuck 'em.

Bloomberg is a democrat. There is no doubt about it. He ran GOP to become Mayor of New York, but he was always a moderate democrat at heart. I am more concerned that NYC during his reign became a lifeless shell of what it once as every action he took was placing corporations interests over the people of the city. Also his third term was super fucked up too.

Biden came in fifth tonight. Bernie looks to be taking NH, and a two party fight is emerging between Bernie and Mayor Pete. Amy finished third. Bloomberg was no on the ballots.
Standings after tonight should be:
Buttigieg 23 Sanders 21 Klobuchar 7
Be a good time for Warren to make nice with Sanders. Sanders / Warren is a strong ticket. If they combine their support, should put Sanders above Pete for convention time. Joe has not put really any thought into his campaign, so I expect him to trudge along until convention. I think unless he pulls a miracle on Super Tuesday, he is done though. Even his supporters kind of expected more from him. Bloomberg is a Biden without the baggage and Pete is moldable to DNC insiders. That said, if Pete gets the general nomination it will be ugly. Good chunk of the country will not elect a gay man for president and most of them do not see anything wrong gay bashing. Would not be too shocked to see Amy become Pete's VP pick. Two different bases that can easily unify.

Another win for Sanders. Shitlibs get ready to bend the knee! The party is about to convince two or three of these “moderate” dems to drop out with promise of cabinet spots or whatever fluff they need to get them out. They’ll consolidate their power behind whichever one they think can beat Bernie and to a greater extent whichever one they think can beat Trump. Yep they learned nothing from 16. They deserve this loss big time.

Wait, you guys think Bernie isn't the best chance for the dems to beat trump? Who is better than Bernie? I don't think Bernie can beat Trump as I feel he isn't willing to get dirty and is a bit too passive, especially when it comes to on stage but I'd guess he's the best shot. I'm not on the DNC though.

Wait, you guys think Bernie isn't the best chance for the dems to beat trump? Who is better than Bernie? The problem is Bernie needs to win at over a 50% percent margin or the candidate is picked by the DNC. The DNC exists to prevent a candidate that does not best represent the interests of the democratic party from being picked by the people. Bernie not being a democrat is the exact thing they exist to stop. This means likely the DNC will back Bloomberg who's ad money and data team can match Trump's team. It is unlikely even if Bernie wins the nomination he can compete with Trump on ads. Will need Bloomberg to help, and not so sure he is going to happily do it. Nor will Bernie likely offer a top spot to him to continue his ads against Trump. Gonna be painful for democrats when they lose again. This is two more supreme court seats and the court going 6-3. That is enough to get rid of Roe vs Wade. Also will allow four Trump judges to be sitting if he goes for a third term using the elastic clause to supercede presidential term limits. Likely if Trump wins again and controls the Senate they will get rid of the filibuster as well. Really bad election to fuck around with. The belief that new voters will elect Bernie or Trump voters will support Bloomberg instead is insanity at best.

They’ll consolidate their power behind whichever one they think can beat Bernie and to a greater extent whichever one they think can beat Trump. I do not see Warren, Biden, Amy or Pete dropping. That means six will enter the convention. Sanders is not going to drop leading and Bloomberg skipped caucuses based on his plan to use the superdelegates against Bernie. Biden believes the supers will take him, Pete is second after Sander in delegates so I doubt he will drop and the women will not drop out as if they did it would really turn off the female base of the democratic party, many of which still believe Warren is taking the nomination. This leaves Amy, who I do not see leaving if Warren is still in in case the party wants a centralist woman.

Wow, perhaps this is what happens when people consume only media that supports their view point.
Bernie is unelectable. I respect the guy for living his principals for the longest time.
Put him against Trump and you get a republican landslide. It's not about motivating the base or appealing to new demographics. The majority of voters are centrist in their views with leanings at best to the right or left.
Go tell the rust belt worker who fears his jobs disappearing that Bernie wants to open the borders. Tell the middle class guy working a 12hr shift that his taxes are going up to pay for an entitled blue haired shit to do an arts degree. Tell unionised worker with the great health care plan that he has to give it up so everyone can have a worse one.
Whether or not these things are directly true there are so many attack vectors that he's a dead man walking. Trump is a shit head of the highest order but what is anyone going to say about him that isn't already on the record?
Trumps biggest threats in order of ranking: Biden Bloomberg Amy Mayor Pete ... ... Warren Sanders

You forget Incy that the average poor rust belt worker does not vote. Bernie has a youth moment that could very well displace Trump. Also Bernie appeals a lot to the rust belt. The people who moved the jobs out their towns were the people that congress rewarded with tax cuts. Bernie is telling the rust belt he will make them pay for this and take back they money we rewarded them with for crippling that areas and use it to revive industry in these places. Rust belt is filled with workers who would benefit greatly from a new green deal. To modernize America, we need their skills in factories once more. He turns these people who Trump's policies have ignored, into the blue class heroes of his policies. His message is powerful to these groups.
The people who his message is not hitting well with are people working for white collar corporate jobs who are doing very well under Trump. Their lives only got better the last few years, and they do not see how the other half live. If their employers are taxed more, then jobs will be cut and they could be downsized. These more central democrats are shitting themselves as they are more than happy to enjoy their success that came at the cost of most of America.
Bernie's campaign contributions absolutely show he can beat Trump if people vote. The question is, can the old man get them out. I do not think anyone else running can outside of Bloomberg and his ad machine. Even then, ads do not connect as well to people than Bernie himself does.
That said I am already writing this election off for Democrats. I think Bernie will get screwed at the caucus and the ship will sink as voters just stay home. I put my hopes in 2024 when the party drafts AOC to challenge Trump's third term or Don Jr. This is Bernie's last run but AOC will take his mantle and she will get the youth out in numbers we have not seen since Obama.

I’m seriously concerned for the guy. He also tells them in the same breath, if you don’t like him then vote for the other Biden. Yikes. Biden should have been able to easily win the nomination but it is like he does not give a fuck about the campaign at all. He does not try at all to change his faults or even hide them. It is like he just expects the superdelegates to hand him the nomination then for the voters to elect him because of Obama. If cannot even be arsed to campaign though why the fuck should any of us believe he will actually push an agenda as president.

Also kind of surprised no one threw the late stage curveball and announced Hillary as VP. Amy and Pete really would have nothing to lose from doing it since they clearly cannot win at this stage. Hill still has a loyal following.

You hsve to be at least 35 to be eligible to run for President. I'm not sure if AOC will be old enough by 2024. 2028 or 2032 is probably more reasonable for her.
