Hilarious news from Trump. His lawyers wanted to give back the documents before the FBI raid, then aim for a deal, but Tom Fitton who runs the website Judaical Watch, told Trump he had the right to take whatever he wanted and could declassify with a thought. Trump believes him more than his actual lawyers, and keeps trying to insist his lawyers follow bad advice he is getting. Fitton wants Trump to do the trial and win to embarrass the DOJ. None of his paid lawyers want this to go to trial. Reason for his lawyers bailing last week was they were sick of dealing with Fitton.

Likely that Fitton will be influencing the trial itself too once it starts, should be a hilarious failure.

Daniel Penny indicted in NYC subway chokehold killing of Jordan Neely. Charges will be released when he appears in court. Likely 2nd degree murder or manslaughter.

RNC is a weird place this week. They have a pledge that they will accept whoever wins the primary as the GOP candidate. Some people running are asking if the RNC is really going to make them back a convicted felon if Trump loses the lawsuit.

Trump also will not be able to vote again if he loses the Florida lawsuit due to felony disenfranchisement laws in Florida.

No Labels says they will only run a candidate if the race is close in the spring. In other words, if they cannot spoil Biden then they will not waste their money.

DOJ George Floyd investigation is finished. Found that the Minneapolis Police Department discriminates against people of color, and uses force recklessly when it is not needed, and shoots people before accessing if force is needed. The death of George Floyd was not a one off event, but resulted from regularly occurring actions of the police force in that department.

Findings were that 75% percent of the time the police used force did not warrant it, and often it was used for petty, non-violent, crimes.  One example was a women walked next to a police car, spooking the cop in it, who then shot her in the head in self-defense claiming he saw a gun.

This witness was said to have two recorded phone conversation with Joe Biden, while he was VP, that will prove he was influence peddling. Influence peddling was what Trump was impeached for, so the GOP want to impeach Biden for the same. Except they cannot find their witness, which means they cannot find the tapes. Also, it was almost certainly a Ukraine national, which means it is not unlikely the tapes were destroyed in one of the many Russian missile strikes, and the informant is dead.

Will be more Bidengate hearings this week, as the GOP decides how to nail Biden to the influence peddling charges they been trying to push for four years now, as they want to run in 2024 on this as they got nothing else really to run on, and their platform is extremely unpopular.

Smith asked for disclosure of discovery in the documents case to be limited due to other ongoing investigations. Likely Trump will be charged in New Jersey, and others may be charged in either state. Order is also a general gag order on Trump about discussing the documents.

Cannon is also requiring all of the Trump's lawyers to get security clearance which should get interesting.

Trump now in a spot where if he talks about the case with outside parties, he could be hit with contempt of court charges.

DeSantis with a desperation move is lobbying the RNC to ban anyone under indictment or convicted of a felony from receiving the party's nomination at the convention. Other candidates already expressed concerns that they may have to back a felon so this does have some level of support. The downside is if they do not nominate Trump, even if he does not win the primary, he will break his promise to the RNC and run third party since he is running to avoid prison by either dismissing his case or pardoning himself if he wins.

Almost every GOP candidate is ready to go to war with Mexico if elected. They want to authorize military action in Mexico against the cartels without Mexico's authorization. They can do this without an act of congress by declaring the border a national emergency and that cartels are attacking the US. Which is the language Fox has been using for ages to astroturf this.

Updates on some of the Trump legal stuff. The DOJ investigation was first started by the Deputy Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen after the capital riots. Rosen was appointed by Trump to his position. So if this was a political witch hunt it was the GOP that started before Garland was confirmed. He merely continued the investigation they started.

Other Trump appointees have said that for at least one of the documents taken, the president does not have the ability to declassify at all. Nuclear secrets need the Department of Energy and Defense to declassify.

Finally, Trump's Secretaries of Defense, Attorney General and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff all have publicly said that Trump did not follow proper security protocols for classified documents and that he would show them to people without clearance.

Sadly, everyone seems content on letting the voters decide if Trump should be tried or not, as he is expected to delay this until after the election and no one really seems to think the voters deserve to know if he is be found guilty or not of his various crimes before they vote. Should be win, he will kill the federal investigations and lean on the states to drop their own charges. Should they not, he will use the full weight of the DOJ to defend him.

Massive two prone legal attack against the top teams in disinformation research. One prone will see professors and researchers hauled in front of congress to be berated for studying disinformation and how it spreads. The other is a legal attack dragging them into the courts in class action suits claiming they enabled internet censorship. The suits claim the researchers were directly involved in the removal of free speech online.

Between the two, researchers must spend a lot of time complying with requests for congress that want pretty much all materials from the last 8 years organized for them, and money to defend themselves in courts. Goal seems to be spend the money to sue and lobby to lock up researchers with other things, so they cannot investigate disinformation leading up to the 2024 election.  Several groups already had to cancel what they were working on to move full time to dealing with this.

Stephen Miller is said to be handling point on this operation, with the hopes that Russia and China will swing the election for Trump via disinformation on social media again.

Subpoenas are out for Bidengate. Hearings will start in a week or two.

Funny how this week a lot of conservative sites are talking about how bad the student loan payment pause ending is gonna be.  Almost like they finally realized that if people are spending money there, they are not putting it into the economy.  Maybe they should have thought of this, before they opposed loan repayment to own the libs.

Retail expected to feel almost the weight of repayment starting, leading to major losses to big box retail stores and likely a massive hit to holiday spending.

Pro-life groups are openly turning against Trump, claiming he could have banned abortion as president but did not. Instead they are supporting DeSantis who supports a national total abortion ban.

Likely leading up to the primary the push for a total abortion ban will come into play more and more.  

After getting the gender affirming care bans passed, the group behind it is now pushing to ban birth control, suing the same logic. Since Thomas said he was open to overturning Griswold v Connecticut, this groups wants states to be ready as soon as the decision is reversed.

Hunter Biden took a plea deal from the DOJ. Pled guilty to the tax charges, and a diversion agreement for the possessing a gun with drugs charge. Diversion agreement means after x years if he is not in trouble charge is dropped. Common in the US for first time offenders of low level, non-violent crimes.

Amazingly, no democrats screaming witch hunt or misjustice. Then again, unlike MAGA, we are not a fucking cult.
