GOP raging that Hunter took a deal. A deal like was offered to Trump that he refused to take.
Hunter's investigation was set up by Garland and his deal arranged with a Trump appointed judge. Hardly shielding him.
The best part of it all, is the GOP is fighting to end the type of audits that Hunter was flagged on, and believe the second amendment should allow people to have guns with drugs. They want Hunter in jail for crimes they do not believe others should be charged with.

Adam Schiff censoring debate today in the House. He is being censored for calling Jan 6th an insurrection and investigating it as such. Meaningless move ultimately, but allows the GOP to do political theater.
Biden impeachment vote should be next week. Bordergate will be the charge.

Schiff censured for investigating Jan 6th by the House.
Next items up for the GOP:
Impeachment of Biden will get a floor vote in the near future. Motion to expunge Trump's impeachments is going to be put forth by MTG and will get a vote. 15 week national abortion ban is being drafted and will be pushed to a vote.
House GOP debating on changing rules to remove the power of any one member to be allowed to bring bills to vote, a concession made to the Freedom Caucus to allow McCarthy as speaker. All three motions strategy people are saying would be political suicide to allow. And GOP leaders realize they cannot keep allowing these votes to happen as the Schiff vote hurt them without really helping them in anyway, something they do not want to do repeatedly.

Sadly was a manufactured story. The group said consistently it was not a coup. The media REALLY wanted it to be a coup though. Of course our GOP is claiming if we supported the coup it would not have failed. Of course Russia is still our ally though, so they wanted us to support an ally being overthrown and just hope no one remembers what they said last week, this week.

Judge Cannon just blocked the government's motion to file the witness list against Trump under seal. That is enough should the DOJ wish to appeal and ask for her removal from the case since making that list public creates undue risks for the people who are named on it. Because Trump's team gave no reason as to why it should not be sealed, it also shows bias, which justifies the recusal motion.
Loose Cannon playing a very dangerous game. This case turns out like the first one, she will likely be facing disbarment.

Well this awkward. With a Supreme Court decision today, victims of the OSU molestation scandal can sue the employees still that allowed the abuse to take place. This includes the Head of the US House Judiciary Committee.
Literally Jordan will be on trial for allowing grooming basically as he is expected to be sued by the remaining victims that did not get a settlement. The victims are in the hundreds too, most not realizing that what was done was sexual abuse as it was explained to them as being medical in nature. With Strauss dead, the assistant coach is now the target of the lawsuits, and that is Jordan. And this suit essentially removed the statute of limitations from these cases, allowing everyone in the problem now to sue Jordan directly.

New book about the Trump admin by Taylor said Stephen Miller's plan for a migrant boat coming to the US was to attack it with drones. Miller believed since it was in international waters there was nothing against missile striking the boat to prevent any of the migrants from reaching US shores. When he was told this would be an international crime, Miller pushed to label them as terrorists to justify it.
Miller is shortlisted for a major position in Trump's administration should he win again, possibly even secretary of homeland defense. He also is the architect of the invasion of Mexico as a counterterrorist action, or covert drone strikes inside of Mexico, both highly illegal actions against an ally.

Early indicators of a housing market crash are showing. People used Trump's pandemic loans that did not need to be paid back and handouts to buy properties during the pandemic that then were set up as Airbnbs. Now the feds are cracking down in this as fraud, and the market for airbnbs has crashed due to increasing poor quality of them due to lack of upkeep.
We are the point where the airbnb properties are no longer earning enough to make mortgage payments at the same time people are facing court dates for financial fraud over the loans used to pay for them. Once these start to default will see a rapid collapse in housing prices as supply of houses for sale rapidly increases.

Alina Habba put her law license on the line filing a countersuit against Carroll on behalf of Trump claiming she defamed him by claiming he raped her, asking for 5 million in damages, the amount from the first case. A jury already awarded her 5 million in damages for sexual assault and defamation. The countersuit was filed with the same judge who already dismissed much of what is being argued in this countersuit.
NY has anti-slapp laws which this lawsuit clearly violates.

Supreme Court ruled that affirmative action in college admission is unconstitutional via the Equal Protection Clause. Claimed it was being used in a manner that was racist against white students.
Schools likely to move to a 10% model now, where schools automatically admit people in the top 10% of their classes. Conservatives prefer the affirmative model to this, as this means their average kids will not get into the colleges they want.
Some already said they will move to household income in place of race as the end result is the same. And in the machine learning age they can use a combination of non-race factors to recreate race anyway if they do desired.
Expected there will be a lawsuit in a few years about underrepresentation of Asian students as a backlash to this.
///
Also ruled 9-0 that Christians should be able to have Sundays off unless it causes a substantial hardship. Expected a wave of lawsuit coming as people demand all Christian holidays off.

It seems that you frequently punt decisions to the supreme court that really require a change in either legislation or constitution. Some of these arguments such as roe vs wade cannot be argued in front of a court as it is a question the constitution could never have envisaged. I don't think the supreme court should be used that way, if there is no fundamental principal violated then the states are free to make their own laws, in this case I can see how a positive race bias is still a bias and breaks the principal's of the constitution.

Yeah, the Supreme Court more and more often is legislating from the bench. But this is why we have an ethics crisis. The lack of stare decisis in particular is very concerning to the courts, as courts have no clue what precedents are lasting, and what will be repelled.
I find it interesting that Harvard can no longer consider race, but is free to do legacy acceptance. The legal justification now the Supreme Court used to defend each practice is contradictory. And there is now a bipartisan push to kill legacy acceptance, which means the people who pushed to kill affirmative action just fucked themselves as they are the same who supported the legacy system, which was almost exclusively used by white students.
The death of legacy would make the death affirmative action well worth it IMO. Of course the court may rule that the legal framework in affirmative action does not apply to legacy, and that private colleges are free to use any criteria they wish for students except minority racial status.

Habba tried to use presidential immunity as a defense in the Carroll in the defamation suit in NYC, and asked for the case to be dismissed. I really think she loses her law license after this case. Appears the attorney who defended Trump on the first case is not working on this one.

Roberts in the Student Loan decision claimed the liberal justices were undermining the integrity of the court. Feels like maybe he should make a code of ethics or something if he has problems <.<
But this week showed one thing clearly, Democrats should start to bribe the conservative justices and they will clearly get the verdicts they want from a court for hire.

Harvard announced this morning they will end using race in admissions, and now, as the Supreme Court explicitly said was allowed, will be moving to use how race effect's a person's life in admission decisions.
Something tells me white race experiences like neo-nazi protests or confederate society activities will not be high on their list of desired aspects of a future student.
Something theses petitioners did not consider, was they also pretty much locked white kids out of MIT. Go by the test scores and experience, few white kids can beat an asian. And now diversity for the sake of diversity is not legal.
