I agree with this mostly.but term limits won’t prevent how stupid our leaders are. It just means will get new stupid ones sooner. The older I get the less I’m cariing though. Carlin was right years ago, we bitch about our politicians here in the US but honestly this is really best we can do.


Our leaders come form American schools, American churchs, American businesses. In short products of us the public. And we all can agree the public sucks. Therefore our leaders are always going to suck because they are a product how much we suck.

I do not support term limits, but I do support age limits. There is no reason IMO for someone in their 80's to be representing us. When they were young adults was 50 years ago, and many are completely out of touch with the reality of everyday life for normal people. Frankly I would be willing to lower this to 70 even with a cog evaluations at 65 annually.

True reform would start though at killing Citizen's United and banning lobbying. Money in politics on both sides is a serious issue and why the US is the way it is really. The people have no representations, only those that special interests pick for us. On both sides people bitch about extremism of the other party, but you need to go extreme if you want your interests represented because the other side is going extreme and meeting in the middle you need to balance extremities. Kill the cash, you will see moderates most likely take over with a small group of conservatives and a small group of progressives like every other country. And a moderate base, despite my personal feelings, is good for most countries as it leads to gradual change.

And yeah since I have no kids, personally, the world can burn for all I care, just hoping it occurs 15 to 20 down the line since I should be dead by then. Seems this is what people want, short term self-gratification and leaving their children in an unlivable hellscape. I do hope I am alive to see the rise of the second true megacorp. We had one with East India Company but they were cut down by the age of revolutions. The next one will likely be unstoppable due to the economic power that our largest corporations wield.

Believe now that Trump lost the civil Fraud suit, that every bank and insurance group he dealt with will be filing their own lawsuits.  Will also mean immediate repayment of all outstanding loans.  

For the fraud suits, looking more and more like Trump will deny all involvement and try to stick liability for most things on Eric who was the person who finalized most of the deals on behalf of his father.   

Trial starts Monday and likely first order of business will be to turn Trump Org over to an independent owner who will sell off assets to pay for whatever fines comes from the trial.  As noted before, this is civil and a summary judgement was already made against Trump, so he lost.  Question now is how much did he and his kids all lose.  Suit is against them directly and Trump Org. 

Kevin to put forth a clean 45 day CR, without Ukraine funding via suspension today. Needs 2/3rds to pass, and he is hoping that most Democrats sign on so he does not need the Freedom Caucus. His group is saying the Freedom Caucus had their conservative CR and did not vote for it, so now they need to do something else. Likely the Senate will be willing to break off Ukraine aid to avert a shutdown in the 11th hour. Given how razor thin margins are, many paths for groups in the senate on both sides or house dems to block this and push the house GOP into finding another solution.

Gaetz after the vote is almost certain to call for a new speaker.  If he does we do another prolonged speaker race.

CR passed 335-91. All but 1 dem supported it, while 90 GOP members opposed it. Senate plans to pass it.

In retaliation rumors are circling Gaetz will call for a speaker vote and his group will back Jefferies as speaker to embarrass McCarthy completely. This is kind of the only easy path really to remove McCarthy, and MAGA wants blood badly.  They are furious that Kevin passed what they see as a Democrat bill.

Gaetz tried to push a motion vacate but the chair ignored him and adjourned the House.  Next session will open with a speaker fight.

He said he was in a rush to get to the vote and pulled the fire alarm by mistake, thinking it would open the door.   That will be very apparent in the video if that is true.

If he is just casually walking up to the fire alarm and pulling it, you know he's full of shit.

Motion to expel him already announced. But will need Congress reconvened, which will see Gaetz immediately call for a speaker vote. Any call to expel Jamaal will be met with a call to expel Santos. They do not have the votes to expel Jamaal, but expelling Santos finally is a possibility as he keeps looking worse and worse and an appointment would be far better for everyone. Should Jefferies manage to become speaker after the Gaetz coup, all motions to expel anyone will be tabled.

Gaetz said he will primary McCarthy next week and has enough to make sure he will not be speaker anymore.

Trump NY trial underway. Trump and his sons have different legal teams, and different strategies. Trump is calling this a witch hunt set up by Smith and the DOJ, and claiming he is being framed. Eric and Don Jr are just trying to chip away at credibility of the witnesses.

As time goes on, it looks like Trump will claim he has no knowledge of operations of Trump Org because others were in charge during the period examined. Those others are usually Eric. So Eric's lawyer may also have to defend him in cross from Trump's team.

Trump getting hammered by the media for complaining about being denied his right to a trial by jury, after his lawyers did not mark he wanted one on his legal forms.

Debate on removing McCarthy started. Freedom caucus claims it is because he did not allow them to do cuts that only 10% of the House supported and that he did not pass a balanced budget bill. Biden would veto both however should it even pass the budget. They are saying they needed to shut everything down to force Biden and the Senate to give into their minority.

No sure where this is going as it sounds like they will end up putting Jefferies into the speaker role. And he will not support their cuts. But not a bad play, put Jefferies into office, claim dems control the chamber over it, then tank his ability to get anything passed because he lacks the majority.

And thus ends the speakership of Kevin McCarthy, the weakest speaker in US history, and only person to ever be removed as speaker.

Believed after a new speaker is elected, McCarthy will push for an expulsion vote for Matt Gaetz due to his interstate sex trafficking and drug use involving a minor.  House ethics committee it is believed has a completed report waiting.

All Democrats would be expected to support it, and majority of mainline conservatives can be whipped to support it.

Will end Gaetz's political career when the GOP takes it all to the networks.
