It's one of my go to's to tickle my funny bone up there with Bringin' Down The House, The Birdcage, The Hangover, Uncle Buck, Great Outdoors, Planes Trains & Automobiles, Wayne's World, 40 Year Old Virgin, Anchorman, Office Space, Austin Powers, Old School, Wedding Singer, Liar Liar, Ace Ventura & 50 First dates. If those are on I'm sitting down, watching and laughing no matter how many times I've seen them. Holy shit if that isn't the god damndest Ass Planter list I done ever seen. thereallt has his work cut out for him.

What's a clicker and a doofer? Pass the remote, please. Or handset. Handset is acceptable. I've never heard anyone say clicker in my life. Doofer is multi-use. It's like thingamajig, thingamabob, whatchamacallit. Only a psycho would say handset (which is clearly to do with phones) for a TV remote. Or an Australian.

Nah. I thought Dodgeball was awful. Now I'll admit comedy is the most subjective genre. And I'd hate to be a branded a film snob. So lemme just say I like no fewer than 5 Adam Sandler movies. There is also more cheese on my Favorites Movies than in the entirety of UT's great state of Wisconsin. Wayne's World=CLASSIC. Old School & Ace Ventura=ehh...sure. I'll call them classics too. But Austin Powers is Dodgeball levels of garbage and Office Space is overrated! #HeelTurn

Click has always seemed interesting to me ever since I saw previews for it back in 2006 and whenever I am reminded of it, but it is shortly forgotten about and I never did end up watching it. I may one day.
Punk-Drunk Love is good and probably the best film from these two actors but I didn't put it on my list because of reasons.
I never saw Zoolander in full but I recall enjoying part of it when it was on at some point.

Is it just me, or does Punch-Drunk Love seems like it'd totally be mikec's jam? I enjoyed it when I saw it, but it didn’t have a lot of replay value. But you’re right, it’s definitely in my wheelhouse. On a Sandler-Stiller list it would’ve made my top 5. I really don’t find anything about Ben Stiller funny.

What are some specific things that didn't work for you? That are that far afield from other dumb/quirky comedies. I'm trying to think back and put myself in first-time viewer shoes... I vaguely feel like the first time I ever saw Zoolander, it was more miss than hit for me. But then it grew exponentially on me upon repeat viewings. I feel like Talladega Nights and Dumb & Dumber had similar trajectories for me too. Can’t even put particulars on it because I don’t go back to it like I would movies I enjoyed. I just know I was sitting there watching it dumbfounded and annoyed that it wasn’t ... funny. The quotes that came after it never worked for me and annoyed me and fueled the hatred I’m sure. I would say I’d rewatch it and get back to you but I’m not rewatching it. Ever. Twice is enough and 10 years isn’t long enough ago. It probably just went over your head because it is actually a psuedo-intellectual parody that is masquerading as a dumb movie whilst really being an incredibly intelligent commentary on dumb pseudo movies so that, if you're not in on it, then it just feels like the dumbest of all dumb movies.

UT 's thoughts on Zoolander are exactly how I feel about Step Brothers. Step Brothers isn't just "not funny". It goes beyond that. It is so not funny that it makes me angry. It's anti-funny. To bring this post back on topic, I don't think even the worst Adam Sandler or Ben Stiller movie could instil the loathing I feel for Step Brothers. That said, I'm not willing to put that to the test. For me, this is Dumb and Dumber. Which is just dumb and not funny at all. I literally cringe every time I try and watch it. I have not seen Step Brothers, but the trailer looked funny. Maybe you just were in a bad mood.

This is Dodgeball for me. What I watched was one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever seen. At no point during its brutal 93 minute runtime was it even close to producing anything that resembled a laugh. I felt dumber for having watched it. I award it no points, and may God have mercy on its soul. Dodgeball is fucking hilarious. I will agree that it takes a certain kind of humor that involves enjoying watching douchey assholes be douchey in a funny and lame way, but it is really good at what it does.
The toilet store line will stay with me forever and will eternally be my go-to anti-humor joke to break the ice.
