Clicker is a Ontario/northeast United States term. I’ve never heard it anywhere else. As for Zoolander, if you don’t like it you just don’t understand comedy. You’re probably boring. People see you at a party and go “oh look it’s that boring person.” We are from Ontario and have never called it that, but to be fair we didn't have a TV with a remote until years after we moved out West. What are we rich folk?
Some of you agree with me and the rest of you are wrong.
I smell a PW 2.0 Mania match brewing.

WHAT?! You don't find Dodgeball funny?
'If you can dodge a ball you can dodge a wrench'
It's one of my go to's to tickle my funny bone up there with Bringin' Down The House, The Birdcage, The Hangover, Uncle Buck, Great Outdoors, Planes Trains & Automobiles, Wayne's World, 40 Year Old Virgin, Anchorman, Office Space, Austin Powers, Old School, Wedding Singer, Liar Liar, Ace Ventura & 50 First dates. If those are on I'm sitting down, watching and laughing no matter how many times I've seen them.
Nah. I thought Dodgeball was awful. Now I'll admit comedy is the most subjective genre. And I'd hate to be a branded a film snob. So lemme just say I like no fewer than 5 Adam Sandler movies. There is also more cheese on my Favorites Movies than in the entirety of UT 's great state of Wisconsin. Wayne's World=CLASSIC. Old School & Ace Ventura=ehh...sure. I'll call them classics too. But Austin Powers is Dodgeball levels of garbage and Office Space is overrated! #HeelTurn
*sputters*
Overrated? OVERRATED?!
You've gone too far, sir. TOO FAR!!!! My red swingline stapler and I are going to beat you like the printer in Office Space.

Victim of overhype + it just wasn't funny. Friends I trusted and usually agreed with when it came to movies had hyped it for a while. I finally watched it and....almost laughed. Once. Michael Bolton being an angry guy named Michael Bolton who listened to gangsta rap was....cute. I cracked a smile. But it wasn't quite enough to generate an actual laugh (fwiw the Michael Bolton character was better than Dodgeball's concept of The Ocho, which was the least terrible thing about that movie). As for the rest of Office Space, Milton was annoying. And the only other thing I remember was it generated 0 laughs. Merely calling it "overrated" was me being nice

IM: Uh… we have sort of a problem here. Yeah. You apparently didn’t put any logical thought into your post. Baker: Oh, yeah. I’m sorry about that. I, I forgot. IM: Yeah. You see, we’re putting logical thought into all posts now before they get posted. Did you see the memo about this? Baker: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I’ve got the memo right here, but, uh, uh, I just forgot. But, uh, there’s no problem. IM: Yeah. If you could just go ahead and make sure you do that from now on, that will be great. And uh, I’ll go ahead and make sure you get another copy of that memo. Mmmm, Ok?
Overrated my fat, white ass. It encompasses everything I feel at work everyday on an elemental level.
Peter Gibbons: I don’t like my job and I don’t think I’ll go anymore. •Joanna: You’re just not gonna go? •Peter Gibbons: Yeah. •Joanna: Won’t you get fired? •Peter Gibbons: I don’t know. But I really don’t like it and, uh, I’m not gonna go. •Joanna: So you’re gonna quit? •Peter Gibbons: Uh-uh. Not really. I’m just gonna stop going. •Joanna: When did you decide all that? •Peter Gibbons: About an hour ago. •Joanna: So you’re going to get another job? •Peter Gibbons: I don’t think I’ll like another job. •Joanna: Well what are you going to do about money? Bills? •Peter Gibbons: You know I never really liked paying bills, I don’t think I’m going to do that either.

You don't like Adam Cole or Office Space?
On a somewhat related topic, I once put a sign on our office printer that said 'call me Bob Marley because I be Jammin'. My boss did not find it humorous. Ironically, 6 years later I still have a job.

Wait, the dumb cringe-inducing movie for me is Napolean Dynamite. I mixed it up.
Actually...I think Dumb and Dumber also made me cringe though?
Maybe it’s both. I think it’s both.
Dodgeball is amazing.
Office Space is amazing.
I might even have less controversial takes than Baker in this thread. This is insane. I’m giving him a run for his money probably though. I think Dumb and Napolean Dumbermite are pretty loved.

I logged onto PW today with 20 new notifications. That's a record. I'm pleased to see most of them are for this thread, but I was kinda hoping most of them would be for the post where I crapped all over Step Brothers. Only some of them were. Anyway, there's like 1.5 pages of posts since I last was in here, and some absolute gold. Time to quote the gold. Let me put it this way, I would watch Scream 100x before I would even think about watching Zoolander again Zoolander is a backyard vanity project for marks. Zoolander is a lot better than Forrest Gump. As for Zoolander, if you don’t like it you just don’t understand comedy. You’re probably boring. People see you at a party and go “oh look it’s that boring person.” Baking a loaf of bullshit. This is the last straw. I am officially cancelling Lionheart. Forrest Gump is the most brain cell destroying movie of all time for sure ever end of story. Twice. ------------- The toilet store line will stay with me forever and will eternally be my go-to anti-humor joke to break the ice. What is this line? Wait, the dumb cringe-inducing movie for me is Napolean Dynamite. I mixed it up. Actually...I think Dumb and Dumber also made me cringe though? Maybe it’s both. I think it’s both. I think you were in a bad mood when you watched both of those movies. I was not in a bad mood before Step Brothers. Step Brothers put me in a bad mood. ----------- I want to conclude by saying that Office Space is excellent and most certainly not overrated, and I am glad we have moved onto better topics of conversation than Stiller and Sandler.

Man, just caught up on this thread. What a crazy path we've been on. With all the hate for beloved favorites being thrown around, I wonder what PW's consensus Top 10 comedies are.
Office Space, as good as it was/is, 8 think probably resonates so much more once you have that corporate drone experience under your belt for a few years. The Office is way too lighthearted about that miserable existence. Office Space does a better job of capturing the darkness, despite all the florescents.

The Longest Yard should have been a perfect storm for me , football and Sandler , you don't get two more beloved things from young UT than that and it ended up being... good. Nothing great , nothing too memorable for me other than seeing all the football players and wrestlers take part. It's weird to see Sandler take such a back seat in the comedy part in his own movie but he really did. I know the diehard fan of the original generally hate the remake but I wasn't a fan of the original so there's that.

How does this one hold up to the original? Never seen the remake, but the cast does make me morbidly curious. I loved the original though, so I'm nervous.

The Longest Yard was my #6. It's not quite as good as the original, but it's still a worthy successor. Sandler played the part exactly the way he needed to IMO. Also loved the various guest stars.
