I've only seen Click once , thought it was fine but didn't really take anything away from it other than the ending. Didn't think it was super funny but I know a ton of people who love it so I probably owe it a rewatch. Didn't make my list by a longshot though , these two just have too stacked of a filmography for my tastes and childhood.

Henry Winkler is amazing in Click. He isn't the most fleshed out character, but we just know him as this goofy but loving dad who loves spending time with his family, even if it involves showing off his magic trick for the 1000th time. It makes the key scene of the movie so heart-breaking because his son effectively hated him so much he wanted nothing to do with him, effectively becoming the antithesis of everything Winkler held dear.
The rest of the movie is surprisingly solid as well. There's a strong support cast with the Hoff, Walken and Aston and the premise feels like a precursor to Black Mirror. It's one of those movies that could lend itself to Oscar bait, but since it's Sandler he really plays it safe. You get one emotional scene, the rest is all laughs and the movie is constantly reminding you of how to feel. They even read out a note to the viewer, even though it can clearly be read.
It was a late cut on my list.

I fucking LOVED Click. Remember watching it by myself junior year of college, probably out of boredom... and being surprised by how much I loved it, and how touching it was for what was supposed to be a dumb/bad comedy. Like, I seriously remember my eyes watering up at points. I have virtually no real recollection of the movie itself anymore... just my initial reaction, and subsequent stance that I loved it. I should give it a rewatch at some point. It didn't make my list, but more due to the depth of each guy's filmography. No knock against Click. Love that it made the Top 15!

Didn't even make my initial brain dump list. UT pretty much summed up my thoughts on it.

Click was my #1. To avoid going ballistic on you mofos, I’m just going to leave it at that. Mad respect. Had this been JUST a Sandler countdown, Click would've been my #6 probably. If I'd rewatched it in preparation for this countdown, it might've eeked it's way back up into my Top 5 for Sandler.

Crazy part is the movie and the next one both got multiple first place votes and they didn’t crack the top 13.

Also, must note: Love that you picked one of Stiller's most iconic characters for the OP... and one of Sandler's more obscure ones? LOL. Is that you trying to reveal your personal preference on the low key?!

I think Stiller is massively underrated though and think this can stand next to as Adler but Sandler has the edge of having the two most quoted and definitive movies of my youth - along with some other bangers we will get into. Stiller also doesn’t have near the lows that Sandler does. He also can blend in much better in secondary or cameo roles.

PDL is in the same boat as Click with me , I remember watching it years ago around the time it came out but I barely remember anything aside from being a bit disappointed in the movie. Now that probably isn't the movies fault as much as 16 year old me with expectations of what a Sandler movie should be and what I got instead. Another one I do definitely owe a rewatch with older eyes and proper expectations.
Also another one with multiple first place votes. So some people love it.

PDL was my #6.
I need to re-watch to see if that's fair.
I've only seen it once, similar to Click, and like Click, I recall absolutely loving it. No recollection of it now, or why I loved it... Just recall the emotion I felt.

Looks like I should go back and rewatch some movies. I don't remember Switch or PDL evoking much in me but maybe I missed something or wasn't in the right headspace.

For my money, this is the greatest film ever created. Sandler’s acting is top notch. My all time favorite movie scene is of him and his employee in a grocery store buying food to get the bonus air miles off of them. While his employee is on all fours getting the food off the bottom shelf, Adam is dancing in the aisle. It’s a scene of pure joy. I have no idea how he conveyed that scene the way he did but it’s just amazing. I watch this movie every time I feel down. It’s incredible how a film can touch you the way this one did me. I love when someone loves a movie this much , especially one that doesn't normally get this kind of recognition or praise. It's awesome , even if the movie didn't resonate with me. Makes me definitely want to watch again.

I just thought it was a Canadian word for remote control. Like how Brits call it a clicker. Reminds me of the anecdote about how Jaws had a different title in Latin America because the Spanish word for Jaws translated to Mandible, which didn't sound intimidating for marketing. So Jaws ended up being called whatever the Spanish word for Shark is.

Switches, like the little sticks that fall out of trees that your grandmother beat you with when you were a kid?
Grandmother? Try my parents. I'm old.
No, control & load switches. Nothing fun unfortunately.
