I imagine the impact would have been larger in the independent companies, especially those in the UK. I know the issues were investigated quite seriously by the police in the UK when it all kicked off. Don't know how it ended though, I lost track. Considering many of the stories were along the lines of " my friend on twitter said this happened.. " how far can you possibly investigate? And how many victims went to the police? How many were legit stories? In Riddles case, he admitted to an affair and now his mistress is suing Riddle, WWE and Evolve for 10 million a piece. Also, it reawakens this debate of what should be a legitimate cause for alarm and what is just generally dickish behaviour. Wasn't one story, the victim in question felt intimidated because he didn't like the banter between two wrestlers at a meet and greet? Possibly Joey Ryan and David Starr? On Joey, I find it strange that The Garganos basically stated " we knew nothing " either meaning they're lying or Joey is actually just a sleezeball and not a predator.

UK police investigated but all of these were just people chasing rumor of things that happened years ago. Even for the stuff that was illegal, there is not much they can do years later.

What a surprise, no one in the wrestling industry cares about the speaking out movement The world moved on. And if and when the world awakens from covid, it will be a distant memory. Past incidents can't be reversed, but the culture and behaviour in the future can change. That's probably the best case scenario.

There was a little uproar again in the past weeks over two incidents. Joey Ryan faked a charity for women's wrestling to try and get some credible names on a card he was promoting. Nobody knew he was involved until he PUT HIMSELF ON THE POSTER. Everyone pulled, the show was cancelled, and some internet sleuths figured out the charity didn't even exist.
Another incident with some NJPW guys who agreed to work a show, but then found out Marty Scurll was also at the show. Some of them spoke out and said they never would have agreed if they knew he was there. I don't have much more info than that.

Since the allegations came out against Joey Ryan, hes been working this born again Christian gimmick IRL. It's vomit inducing seeing photos with what I'm guessing, are unassuming people.
@ness, Marty admitted to doing things with a then 16 year old girl, he claims it was consensual and I believe, in whatever country it was in, it was legal. But she was 16 and he was in his 20s and its very off putting regardless of it being legal or not. There were rumours for years of Marty being this way inclined.
Which makes me dislike The Bucks somewhat more, you've spent years on the road with the guy. Not knowing, or not seeing anything odd would either suggest you're either incredibly naive or chose to either ignore it or accept it.
