My work's site will actually tell you all your clock rings when you log on. With a time card as opposed to salary there's always the worry of being paid the correct # of hours and sure you can keep track on your own, but seeing it super official in real time is an amazing feature.

I had my first appointment with a psychiatrist today as I think it’s time to fight my demons so I can be a better man for my family.
Unfortunately, I got nothing out of it but annoyed. This dude had no idea what the fuck he was talking about.

My advice, do not see them again, and see a second one. IIRC with your past you have impulse control issues likely related to disinhibition. Basically, where most people have a loud voice that says you should not do some risky things, yours is quiet is easy to ignore. Ignoring that little voice makes you prone to taking risky actions, which is made worse when you join a group of people like yourself.
That is my gut reaction but I do not have a full history.
Also I think you would be far better suited seeing a male therapist. There are sex differences in the style of therapy preferred by male or female therapists, and males tend to be more analytical compared to females that tend to prefer to use more emotional counseling. Also im my experience males do not try to heal the "spirit."
Doctors also rely on meds to treat to with side effects whereas therapists the only side effect of a bad one really is wasting an hour. If you do not trust a doctor, I really would not let them put you on meds that may cloud your judgement. What I tell everyone is in a class of 100 doctors getting their degrees half of them were below average. If a doctor does not make sense or seem to not help it is likely you are dealing with the one of the ones who were simply not as smart as others. Getting a second opinion drops the chance of getting two shitty doctors down to quarter.

If doing any form of remote healthcare, make damn sure they know NYC too. NYC culture truly is unique and few who did not live there will be able to understand it. Just how public life is in NYC for instance many who do not live there will simply not be able to understand as they do not realize how much relying on mass transportation instead of private transportation changes everyday life.

Dealing with him did nothing for my anger problems BUT helped with my anxiety because I was more so pissed then anything. If that one also goes badly, see someone else for sure. Almost every therapist has their own methods so if you do not like someone it is unlikely the next person will try the same techniques. I also suggest when possible try for someone older. Experience is very important in this field and many younger people suck at their jobs still for not having the field training to see what actually does and does not work in real people. For anger post-Freudian methods are IMO the gold standard but few will use them these days. CBT is the modern gold standard, but for me post-Freudian methods are superior as they try to get at the root causes of anger, whereas CBT just deals with reducing the symptoms. If you end up doing anger management stuff, I suggest trying to figure out what sets off your anger and the trying to figure out why that action makes you angry. Write it down someone and eventually a pattern will emerge that should reveal the source of the anger. Fix that root issue and you can fix the anger itself.

If a part of my body touches furniture, I have to go touch it with the exact same part of my body. If I spot, I have to force a second spit. When washing my hands, I have to count to an even number. God forbid my finger or hand touches a part of the sink. Then I have to touch it again and restart the countdown. But while touching it again, if another part of my hand touches it accidentally then do that part again. The countdown could take awhile to restart if I don’t move carefully. Because if I don’t do it, then something bad is going to happen. At least that’s what my head tells me. I have had this number OCD thing for about 10+ years now.
