I had to call my Executive Director today because a worker made a disclosure to me this afternoon that involved some pretty serious allegations about her Director. I then had to write everything up and send it to HR ( @admin?) to review and start an investigation. I wasn't even covering for that unit! I lost my whole afternoon with this BS.

Major props to all of you who've taken the contraception 'hit' for your team (or for your own personal reasons), rather than having your partner going through surgery after they've born your children. Partnerships and peace of mind at it's finest. I'm sorry for any of you for whom it didn't go smoothly for and wish you a speedy recovery iNCY . I should have done this 6yrs ago. One of the worst aspects of my ADHD was the ability to plan for anything until my calendar was clear of upcoming trips or whatever... But it never was and was never going to be. Still walking like a bit of a cowboy.

I normally get stuff delivered to my work now but on this one occasion I decide to get a package delivered to my place. It was just a shirt but I’m still irrationally annoyed.
I get a notification from AusPost that my package has been delivered. I notify them it hasn’t been delivered, they send back photo evidence that the package has been delivered.
Which it was delivered, not to my address though.
So then they send me an email saying “oops our bad. Contact the sender to see what they can do?”
They did their part of selling me the shirt. Your part was to delivered said shirt to my address 🤦🏻♀️

There's an AusPost worker somewhere in regional NSW right now with a brand new I believe in Joe Hendry t-shirt.

My local facebook group is 50% "does anyone know where my parcel is?" and 50% "what was that loud bang" posts. Australia Post is terrible.

My local facebook group is 50% "does anyone know where my parcel is?" and 50% "what was that loud bang" posts. Australia Post is terrible. That sounds suspiciously like mine except add "this hobo is wandering down this street/alley looking into people cars/yards" and "anyone know whose dog this is" aka doggo on the loose posts. Every few nights we play gunshots or fireworks.

Every group is the same lol.
I love a good " I've lost my dog " followed by a post several hours later " I've found a dog " and no one makes the effort to link the two together and the same talking heads appear in the comments on both posts and fail to put 2 and 2 together.

Our local driver for a while wouldn't even knock, just leave the card and go.

I've heard they do this because as contractors they get paid per delivery, and because a dropped card counts that saves them time on walking to the front door and waiting for you to answer so they write the card even if you are there. Just a ridiculous business strategy to piss off all your customers.

Between writing up the card and putting it on the door/mail box, surely it wouldn't take that much longer to pick up the parcel and try that first? But then again, we've had drivers not delivered to work because the roller door was down.

Shocked and utterly appalled by the actions of the far-right scum in my city tonight.
A lot of workers were too afraid to come in, even more afraid to go home.
Fucking shit situation.

I suppose they are comparable. Stabbings are typically associated with London, but the trigger for the riots we are having is a stabbing in Southport, a small town in the North West of England. Three children were killed in a stabbing attack and many more injured. They arrested a suspect but didn't reveal his identity because he's 17 years old. A post was made on a right-wing social media account FALSELY identifying the suspect as an illegal immigrant, leading to violent far-right protests across the country. Since then the suspect's identify was revealed, confirming him as British born, but the damage has been done. The far-right have the excuse they've been looking for. Anti-immigrant protests are continuing to happen. apnews.com/article/uk-southport-stabbing-online-misinformation-1dcd23b803401416ac94ae458e5c9c06

UK born to Rwandan parents. They haven't figured out his motives as yet, or from what I've read. But it likely had more to do with him being autistic than being a potential radical minority.
Smiling - allegedly - while in court probably suggests he's not the most sound of mind.

Few days after my poison ivy cleared it pops up again despite me going out of my way to avoid any plants. The mere sight of leaves and branches was giving me PTSD. No idea how it reappeared. Forget waterboarding threaten me with this shit and I'll tell every secret including Victoria's.

I live between two variations of crazy when it comes to lawn care. One neighbor has a zero turn mower, mulches beautifully, and gardens well. My other neighbor is an empty lot that wants at least twice the market value for a plot of land that’s riddled with ground ivy, invasive trees, and a half broken down fence. This means I have a lawn being taken over by ground ivy, rabbit droppings (because of how great a hiding spot his overgrowth is and the other neighbors apple tree), and I’m constantly pulling up tree saplings, all while being compared to the beautiful lawn on the other side of this maniac.
I’m in landscaping hell here people. I have always been a “just mow it and move on” type, but that neighbors beautiful grass and my advancing dad years are making me competitive. Am I crazy to want to rip out the yard this fall and just try to regrow in Spring? (I’m not, but I want to)

I see some places in the US where the grass practically dies completely yearly. I think you'd be in your rights to poison the grass next door withina couple of feet of your fence.

It’s milder every winter. The grass will die, but the ivy comes back each year stronger. I’m going to spray twice in the fall and open spring with another round and try to reseed some of the tougher areas.

Dad Rad's been in ER/hospital for a couple weeks now. Vegetation/possible infection on the left valve of his heart. They managed to clear out 2/3 of it the other day. Things seem like they're looking up finally. Initially we thought it was just covid (he's been wheelchair bound since 2010'ish, fell out of bed a few times, had to call squad 2x) making him weak but then he failed a test + symptoms just worsened.
He's had me scared with how loopy he talks sometimes. Seeing things that aren't there, saying off the wall shit. I'm hoping it's just all the medication/anesthesia he's been on lately.
Stubbornly hellbent rn on recovering at home instead of a rehab facility. Hoping he gets some respite soon from this nightmare, man's body has been through the ringer by this point.

Hope he'll make a full recovery soon rad. It's scary watching a loved one suffer in poor health for such a long time. Appreciate this, IM. He called me a couple hours ago and sounded a little better than before, though obviously still drained. Off to see him again today. He at least got transferred to a less critical wing of the hospital now and doc said things are looking up. Just hopeful that the progress continues.

I flew to NZ yesterday and I am here doing long days, but on the plane yesterday I started to cough and get the shakes. Today I smashed the paracetamol and caffeine and worked a 12hr day, but it feels like I'm losing the battle
Last night I was shaking and shivering and had weird songs and mental images... 1.5hrs sleep. Got up at 3 and cranked the heater which seemed to help. It sounds dumb but the two hr time difference to NZ is murder for someone with sleep issues. Even at the best of times you fall asleep 2hrs later and have to get up the same earlier
