Mr. Get My Shit In with a random jab at Cody while talking about Will/Danielson.
This Storm/Cody feud is what I live for. Had no idea she hated HHH/Cody this much.

I loved that when reporters started to ask Toni questions she stormed out of the scrum. The scrums are by far her best work.

Both companies are getting really good at handling these post show press conferences. There’s always something entertaining that comes from them. Lol.

So weird that AEW buts on a killer PPV and people decide the best way to attack it is to go after Brian Cage. People getting absolutely savage to him.
Do wonder at what point WWE tries to tame the tribalism. Wrestling discourse has turned so toxic it is resembling political discourse more and more and that is not what you want potential new fans to be encountering when looking into things for the first time. Also bleeding into real life with people being absolute shitheads to the wrestlers bringing the tribal attitude from social media to their meetings with them. Seen like everyone talk about why they no longer stop and talk with fans after shows in WWE due to toxic interactions.

The tribalism works both ways my friend.
People got pissy at WWE for comments made during Wrestlemania week.
Simply put, social media discourse is garbage and shouldn’t be taken seriously.

Seen like everyone talk about why they no longer stop and talk with fans after shows in WWE due to toxic interactions. AEW can dish it out, but can’t take it. But really I’m surprised more AEW fans don’t get annoyed at this shit. Here you have a situation where two guys apparently put on this great match, and yet again, someone has to make it about WWE. Cody helped build that company, and has never said a bad word about it. It’s all so small time. Clearly the existence of a second company is great for wrestling. But the way that people conduct themselves from the promoter on down to the talent and down to a lot of the fans, makes them incredibly hard to root for IMO.

AEW just put on this fantastic, incredible show and you already had someone here complaining about how other people will complain about the show. Like who spends this much time on the internet?

Cody def should be the role model for this all. People are trying so hard to get him to be tribal and he refuses. Think HHH should start doing the same. He does not need to put AEW over, but he should move fast to shut down the negative talk about competition. It would show he is the better man here and why is he on top and the rest are not.
Likewise Tony needs to stop taking shots and tell the roster to do the same. He wants to move on from Punk, then move on from Punk.
But shit needs to be done as this level of toxicity drives people out of a hobby entirely. I skipped most local RoH shows as I did not want to deal with the shit as shows near me had tribalists heckling the entire show. They were barred from some local shows for the same attitude, but never RoH.
And sure people claim this is an online thing, but when shit like the Scrums have nothing not toxicity in the chat, that is replayed with the video, it bleeds into the product.

AEW wrestler takes dig at WWE.
AEW Fan : Tribalism is bad!
Second AEW wrestler takes dig at WWE.
AEW Fan : The toxicity is disgusting!
Third AEW wrestler takes dig at WWE.
AEW Fan : WWE has got to do more to curb this negativity! WWE needs to do something..

Again, it's this empty headed bullshit. They take steps forward and by all reports put on a banger of a show, then because they're idiots and the IWC is full of idiots - us included - we'll focus on some silly comments for the next few days and for every step forward, they start taking steps back.
If you don't want to be compared to WCW, stop acting like it.

I agree with c .. Cody is the face of .. we put on a great show, let’s focus on that and not this petty stuff. Maybe it’s because he is so deep with both locker rooms. He legit wants both sides to succeed. Everyone else says they do. But in reality, they want one side to do better than the other.

Cody over the last 2 years has grown into the exact type of person AEW needs.
Articulate, professional, mind for the business. He comes across as a class act every time. Hunter, very much the same.
AEW's EVPs are two of the most obnoxious dickheads in wrestling. Kenny, isn't even a factor any more. While TK is a child.
You want to talk leadership, or lack there of take a look at how differently the two companies and teams operate.
I feel like AEW think they're the punks standing outside a Nickleback concert snickering and mocking all the normies. When in fact, they're the nerds playing Guitar Hero in the basement getting excited over Dragonforce.

I have this feeling like Cody is positioning himself to take over the WWE after Triple H. He presents himself like the executive of a multi billion dollar corporation.
All the videos I’ve seen from Kenny over the last two weeks says he should be the Cody of AEW. Why are they not letting him do all the talking for the company blows my mind.

Cody may want to take over after HHH, but I doubt another wrestler does. One of the investment crew will.
Bucks are human shitposters, Hangman super private and Kenny is awkward with the media like Tony so they are not really gonna be the face of the company you want to put before the press. But there is one guy AEW has who loves to talk with people, the champ. AEW should be doing outreach with Swerve like Cody used to. For people who ever seen Swerve talk out of the ring, dude is super smart with the code switching ability to break things down for different diverse groups. Also he is a very, very different guy than who WWE normally has as a champ which can help showcase the alternative nature of AEW.
Still cannot believe WWE had Swerve, and did not keep him.

Cage's comment was more that Will and Bryan did not need a vast story to be a great match, a criticism that has been waged non-stop at AEW. Think most are taking it way out of context. Like he is a fan of Cody as Cody was the one who made sure he had a spot in AEW after he decided to not sign them with them go to WWE, only to have WWE change their minds last minute. The whole Cage hates Cody and is shitting on his match feels a lot more like people creating a story from nothing.

If you do not know Cage sure. But like two weeks back he talked up Cody in an interview as the guy he owes his AEW spot to and how they brought him in even after he tried to go to WWE first. I imagine there was an awkward apology text to Cody at some point today, but there does not seem to be heat otherwise.
I am all for burying meatheads, but this feels like more of him being excited and tweeting something stupid to take a shot at the tribal people who said Will and Bryan needed a story to have a great match, not realizing people would solely see it as him taking a shit all over his buddy.
Sounds like Cage will just stop using twitter over this though. And likely call Cody. But since people could not shit on the show, they dogpiled Cage super, super hard on twitter. Can go through the replies to see for yourself.
These attacks of wrestlers are becoming more and more commonplace as journalists fuel flames of hate and then point targets. And what happened with Cage is tame compared to the shit the WWE girls are getting. The Samantha Rotunda hate train today was particularly disgusting.

It just backwards.
AEW comes out and drops the Punk clip and has The Young Bucks of all dickheads do it and then Will is gyrating while taking a shot at Hunter, like a dickhead.
But it's the toxic fans that are wrong.
Then they spend the week doing " Rah-Rah " speeches and talking about moving on.
Then another dickhead says something stupid and it's back to square one with everyone thinking your company is a clown act.. and full of dickheads.

Getting hard to keep defending this shit when they do not stop that is for sure. Tony needs a communication person backstage to address all this shit.
The footage Tony explained. Perry was getting a great reaction in Japan and he wanted to bring him back but assumed the fans forgot about him since he been gone almost a year. So he killed two birds with one stone, released the footage that people wanted to see and explained where Perry was. Or well that was what was attempted, he neglected to mention that Perry no longer worked for AEW as Perry did in Japan. The assumption for the angle seems that Perry was fired for attacking Punk, but sadly Tony botched it. So there was a plan for it that could have worked well if the execution was a lot better.

You know, one thing Tony is really dropping the ball with, is since he is running small venues still, why the hell are we not getting things like we just saw in WWE with Becky celebrating a title win with the kids in the crowd running up to her? Cody used to do this sort of shit, but they like dropped it when he left he seemed. Even Orange barely interacting with the kids these days. But if you are in a smaller venue, condensing fans, there is no reason to not capitalized on that and have these moments. You know damn well every time too those kids see WWE is coming back around they will beg to go back.
And hell, he has the most lovable person in pro-wrestling with a belt right now in Willow, there is little reason he should not be doing the same. Ditto for this face Swerve who wants to be someone black kids can look up to as a black role model as well.
This is where Tony can REALLY separate himself from WWE and brand his shows as more intimate encounters.

Can I be honest, c … AEW came nearby this last year and I thought about it but at the end of the day, we decided not to take the kids. AEW leans heavy on the profanity, blood, and middle finger stuff. We don’t even let the kids watch it at home. I’m not judging anyone who does. And I’m not saying WWE isn’t without its faults in the area as well. But I just don’t think of kid’s show when I think of AEW.

Honestly, I am fine with the blood and profanity, but I also would have not bought the little ones I helped raise to a show either. For me the issue would be the fans. I am fine with the actors doing things, but when fans are also chanting swears or being your typical wrestling fan.
I have no doubt thinking about it tonight that is the biggest barrier Tony faces. Chikara learned early, families bring money. Why sell one ticket when you can sell three or four at a time instead? And if someone who is liberal about violence exposure and profanity still would not want to bring a kid to a show, there are fucking problems.

I raised girls, so wrestling shows were a no go as absolutely did not want them to potentially be around sexist assholes. Even when Chikara came around, which they did like, I just could not take the risk as I did not want to expose grad school girls to the typical wrestling fans who may shout lewd comments at the girls on the show.
