So I understand it in the Bubba Ray logic. He once criticized Sasha for her "dullard" airport photo and said she should be glad that people recognize her and hassle her. It's once when no one does that you have a problem. Wrestling isn't as popular, so I do get fan engagement in that way.

Would you say the business still has a "dumbass marks don't know shit" mentality where the workers borderline openly hate the fanbase? Or has the Twitch era of rasslin' resulted in only "theatre geeks" being in the business so there's less animosity since most of them were fans at one point?

tldr do wrestlers still hate the fans like they seemed to in past eras?

Nah most wrestlers are cool with fans, sometimes too cool when they are heels IMO.


It’s mostly from the stereotypical annoying fans that think they know everything or are super upset when someone doesn’t happen but there’s a reason for it, especially in Indy wrestling.

I thought I was very knowledgeable about wrestling matches then when I started and got told “bump to the left, feed to the right” (opposite in Lucha Libre) I had no idea what that was 😂.

But when fans bitch about storylines/wrestlers not getting pushed without knowing the reality that someone is difficult to deal with/refused a job or someone just isn’t available often enough. You couldn’t write The backstage drama as referenced in the HVW thread and if I wasn’t getting a huge push and a lot more bookings now I would spill the gossip 😂.


What is your goal in the business? Happy to be here? If you're not in it to be WWF World Champion why be here? Somewhere in the middle? Just wanna have fun in the Aust scene? One day at minimum I want to have at least one match on regular TV?

Honestly I just want to get through this year at my shoot job (as I work weekends, so I have to use leave every time I wrestle) so I can go on my long service leave and I hate to vaguepost but if word travel stays restricted as it is due to..Bad Luck, i may spend it doing something wrestling related.


I always dreamt of doing it as a living but my more realistic goals for the meantime is get a more suitable job so I can wrestle every weekend (hopefully as a maineventer) and eventually wrestle overseas.

No wonder the Attitude Era and Vince Russo were the hottest the business has ever been.

The stuff behind Kayfabe is so much more dramatic and compelling than the scripted shit.

The Sydney stay at home order ends Friday 9 July 11.59pm, which was extended from July 2nd.

The election show is Sat July 10th the next day, so very strong chance it gets delayed if restrictions are extended. Or even worse it gets called off on the day, on Saturday a few shows were already set up on the afternoon only get to called off that night as restrictions tightened.

Tickets were selling really well, but postponed date might have a few people not able to come, or not attend if masks are made mandatory.

I know there’s more important things than wrestling shows to consider but I can’t say it isn’t disappointing that I’m main eventing a show and this happens.

also previous issue has been resolved, reached out to said opponent and he apologised, so no heat between us at least. Glad I gave it some time to cool down.

My match with The Mauler Z from AWF, not my greatest match but I got the W for a change lol.

Rescheduled as expected with the recent Covid outbreak.

Also a chance THE ELECTION MATCH isn’t main eventing
THE KINGDOM ELECTION which we were told at the last show and we even clarified even though it should be obvious by the poster + build.

Firstly i wanted to send best wishes to all of our Greater Sydney and Melbourne roster members. I have no doubt that lockdown has caused significant challenges to you and your families and we are all thinking of you in The Hunter and we cant wait till you all can join us again in entertaining our fans as soon as its possible.

As you may or maynot be aware The Hunter Region restrictions arent as strict and we are relatively free to go about our days whilst as long as we wear a mask indoors, check in/out of a venue and adhere to specific venue guidelines that are in place (among other little idiosyncrasies).

Clubs NSW have advised that we can run as long as we meet the following criteria's;

* NOBODY from a 'hot spot' or a 'lockdown' area will be permitted entry to the venue.

* ALL ATTENDEES (fans) must wear a mask (unless they have an approved medical exemption)

* No performers interacting with fans unless wearing a mask.

* Fans must be a reasonable distance from the ring.

* 1.5m social distancing must be adhered to unless sitting in a group whilst viewing the show.

* Hand sanitizer will be available to assist in allowing responsible hygiene standards.

* 100 person capacity.

So for those that don't know what is happening in Australia, the greater Sydney area had a Covid outbreak as has caused Sydney to go into full lockdown and the state of Queensland and Victoria to shut their borders to NSW. Our show was originally July 10 then postponed to Sunday August 1st as it was originally announced as just a few weeks. Anyway lockdown extended which meant 90% of our roster was unavailable, so instead of postponing the show we did a show on a skeleton crew. 

So we did a show with 8 wrestlers available...the promoter announcing and my dad refereeing, which he learnt how to do the day before. 

In terms of actual performance the show went really well, but Dik Brutal injured his knee badly and Linstrom got busted upon in the first segment so that wasn't great show wise. I was really happy with my match, ill post the full match when its up rather than rely on clips. We were only allowed a capacity limit of 100 people but we still less than that which was a bit disappointing but understandable if people don't want to go out at the moment + fans that travel afar to come to the show couldn't attend.

🗣 When chaos broke out after the Lollipop Mountain Mayhem match The Buccaneer & D'Licious issued a challenge to both Ferguson & Brutal for a tag match that was accepted.Unknown to the fact Brutal had injured his knee and couldn't compete Fergus called for his Presidential guard in Lucius Wulfe & Vinnie Vain as replacements who didnt show for obvious reasons. Fergus was forced to compete 2 on 1 - 

(** This was a legitimate injury and we had to change the whole match during intermission**)

🛡 Linstrom aka Grant Linstrom - Pro Wrestler defeated 🛡 Tyler Gunn via pinfall to retain the Kingdom World Championship.

🗣 Late in the match special guest referee Fergus Ferguson was inadvertently taken out via a miss timed linstrom spear. With no authority figure in place to officiate show host Adam belcher-Graham was left with no other choice than to count the 1-2-3 leaving the crowd stunned.


2 matches and special reffing back to back was an experience :lol:

I think it’s just to go with the Kingdom them as promoter always uses swords and shields on the show posts.

It’s the name of the wrestlers “page” on Facebook, EG mine is “Fergus Ferguson - Pro Wrestler” so you can click on the link in the post to go to it.

Made my refereeing debut, stressful stuff especially for a championship match.

Full show will be up soon inc the debut of System Senior.

This show happened 5 days before my area went into lockdown and Sydney residents & wrestlers couldn’t attend hence the low draw. Vocal crowd though!

System should be recovered by December and back in the ring 🥳!

Nothing to plug but not many people can pinpoint the exact moment they got Covid. For me it’s using above microphone

I packed my bags and left immediately after this (Rumble was still going :lol: as sandylea and I were going on road trip next day and I didn’t want to get Covid/stay up late hence the fast elimination. Didn’t find out until I got back from trip at least

Thankfully sandylea has super immunity or something and never got it despite spending 2 days together travelling.

Yeah he’s been wrestling since before I was training (2010) so has been around quite a awhile.

Powerslam not running as those have been used as finishers, but just the transition level move. Kinda decent.

How is a moveset even made? Do you learn the basics and if you get praise for certain moves does that become your stuff? Things can change as you go up the card, but what do you do after training? Do you just do random moves? Stick with a gameplan? Just do the basics until you move up the card?

Also are you trying to find out who has their sigs turned on. I thought you posted that image as a reply and it kept showing up.

Like why does no one have a powerbomb AND a piledriver in their arsenal? If you fail the powerbomb, then you can fail it right into a piledriver! A snap variety even. Neck snap in fact. Like Brock's spin on Bobcore.

Just make the move set yourself, trainers will pitch stuff but you pretty much have free reign within reason unless someone already uses it or it’s a huge move in WWE (like no one will be dumb enough to use the AA)

Only rule we were given is whatever your finisher is, you have to be able to hit it on every one at training. EG don’t make your finisher some huge lifting move if you’re a smaller guy and can’t lift biggest guy at training.

My finisher is the STO because I liked watching Kenzo Suzuki use it, not the flashiest finisher in the world but I can hit it on anyone I wrestle.

Though has been times were people use a very overused move and try to protect it, like one girl came in and demanded that one of the guys didn’t use the cannonball because she used it. He was a big guy and made much more sense for him to use it (see: Kevin Owens) than for her but besides it’s not far from the super kick in times of over use in the indies.

You just pick the moves you like and do well, EG one of the Aussie wrestlers used to do this spot where he’d do 3 running knees in the corner, he has sinced moved to the US so I stole his move and made it more of a splash: (8:40)



Also have to consider your wrestling style if you’re working face or heel.
Australian indies are a lot like the territory System so I’m one of the top heels in Kingdom in the Hunter valley as a cowardly heel so I don’t have to do a whole lot of stuff, just be a weasel and do underhanded tactics.

Travel down to Sydney and I’m booked as a face so wrestle a faster pace and do more stuff.
