We've all seen that spot where a wrestler goes for a kick, lariat or chop to an opponent leaning against the ring post. Opponent moves, attacker strikes the ring post. There's no way to fake that, is there? So how do you do that without fracturing a bone or injuring yourself in some other way?

Same with crowd railings. In Japan especially the guys just throw themselves into the metal railings full force. How do you avoid getting injured like that?

That shit is real.  I saw Cide do a flip over the top rope and land on the middle of his back on the barricade two feet away from me.  I was stunned.  Was not sure if he would get up, but he was on his right within seconds.

A lot of this is just hitting the metal and hoping for the best.  Mondo said the trick is to relax before impact.  He claims that is likely what allowed him to walk away from stuff like the roof bump without being crippled.  Roof bump was essentially Mondo taking a powerbomb to the concrete from the roof as Zandig's ass broke all the tables on the way day.  His back was fine, but he got concussed and impaled by glass.  They glued his wound shut enough for him to wrestle in the finals, but to this day he has little memory of the main event.  Ian Rotten literally carried him through the match he said, and had to keep stopping Mondo from bringing in more weapons or trying to do the preplanned spots that Ian would not let him do because of his wound.

For people who never got to get really near the ring posts, they are heavy as shit and solid too.  Weigh about 150 pounds.  I could not even help with them, shit was just too heavy.  Generally four of the wrestlers would carry them in and get them into place.  

Every now and then someone does hit a ring post with spear and fucks up their shoulder.

Yes, it’s almost a contest to outdo each other with obscure wrestling lingo even when not talking about wrestling. I’ll answer more in other thread.

Normally every on is on edge until they have their match, so half people chatting and having a good time (unless their match went horribly) and other people sitting quietly trying to get in the zone or on their phones.

Everyone wants to be a maineventer but being in the last match sucks.
Wait on all night for your match and hope people didn’t do your shtick whilst everyone else is chilling as their match is done. Then as soon as your match is done..ring crew time.

Also some venues don’t have great amenities or they are in the locker room (with a door at least) so have to laugh about the awkwardness of that.

Have you trained anyone or were active in any wrestling schools in that way? I dunno if they still have it on wiki pages or if it's another thing they took away like the movesets Neo Zeed but I always got a kick out of seeing "credit" on the right side where people were trained under guys. Some of them it's their ONLY claim to fame.

Nah definitely haven’t trained anyone. I help out the trainees/rookies if I see them struggling with someone but that’s about it.

I was trained by TNT at the AWF dojo, this was recorded about a year before I started training but you get the general idea

Yeah I found out the day after the show before this.
Kingdom is notorious for changing things and I was waiting for something to happen that would need me or D’Licious to pull out of the show. So I was stressed af going into it as my big main event match last year got cancelled due to the second lockdown.

Belt stays with me until I drop it to the next person (no idea how
Long the reign will be). Some cases the belt stays with the promoter but
that’s usually for interstaters.

Not me personally, only because I didn’t go over often until recently :lol:.
It happens a lot in the early days of promotions as they normally consist of rookies and veterans who have been kicked out of other promotions for a variety of reasons.

They are on their best behaviour for a few shows, their true colours come out and drama happens. Good promotions handle it, others let the inmates run the asylum and ruined a promotion completely.
