Montgomery 1 hit shutout... Yeah Maddox is a beast of a pitching coach. I didn't see Gumby having this much success. He's been amazing, he was faltering late with the Yanks before the trade. I still like Bader's glove and he will look like Ken Griffey Jr with the bat vs Aaron Hicks once/if he returns. Also the Cubs are a pretty shit team altogether. At least Montas didn't embarrass himself today for once. How the Mets didn't terrorize both Domingo German and Frankie Montas these last two nights I just don't know.

Mets bats have been really streaky for a few weeks now. Not getting much from Nimmo or Alonso. Heavy schedule is playing a factor, 27 games in the last 26 days.

Mets/Dodgers was absolutely spectacular tonight. DeGrom majestic as usual, Nimmo's catch of the season contender to rob Turner of a game tying homer, and Narco live to play Diaz in for the save. And it was all over in 2 hours 20 minutes - if only baseball could always be like this.
3-3 between these two teams this season with one more game tomorrow - let's hope they meet in the playoffs.

Peraza makes his MLB debut as a pinch hitter in the 9th with two outs in a blow out. Boone has got to go.

Peraza makes his MLB debut as a pinch hitter in the 9th with two outs in a blow out. Boone has got to go. This obsession to play IKF is ridiculous, he hasn't even been bullet proof defensively at SS to warrant this. Let Cabrera and Peraza play over Hicks & IKF, enough.

No idea why Hicks gets any playing time. Start Peraza not this ridiculous pinch hit waste of an at bat. Boone put him in a terrible situation.

Been a rough few days for the Mets, some terrible losses to bad teams seeing the division lead evaporate, and Scherzer going on the DL, but at least we've got Jake. His WHIP is 0.55 for the second straight season.

Mets clinched the playoffs tonight, even after pulling Scherzer on a perfect game bid through six innings. Will be the first playoff appearance for the Metropolitans since 2016 - essentially the same drought as the Rangers.

Amazing day for PW supported teams today! Lindor hit a go-ahead grand slam in the 7th that led to the Mets beating the Brewers Judge hit HR #60 (and is now in line for the AL Triple Crown) and Stanton hit a walk-off grand slam for the Yankees against the Pirates Jays scored 18 (and allowed 11) beating the Phillies Mets clinched the playoffs tonight, even after pulling Scherzer on a perfect game bid through six innings. I agree with you in theory, but it was his first start back off the DL and they can't risk losing him again ahead of the playoffs.

Dayton Moore fired mikec. I swear I was in high school the last time KC had someone other than him running the show. Think it is overdue even though he has built a pretty good farm.

I could not take that opportunity away from someone. One thing if Sherzer had 100 pitches through 6 innings. But, he didn't. Just 9 outs away. First hit or walk allowed he is out.

No pitching and a ridiculous amount of loyalty shown to pitching coaches that never developed pitching and a lot of losing.

Embarrassing that the Guardians have clinched their division at 86 wins while teams like NYY(94) and NYM(97) have not.

Lame that Judge hit #61 in Toronto but whatever. I'm more upset the Jays didn't clinch the wild card last night. Our fucking pitching blew it again.

I know it's in the team's DNA but the Mets rolling over as they have is so disappointing. They sleepwalked through an easy part of the schedule, and then completely failed in a mini playoff series against Atlanta. They only needed to win one game and instead managed to get swept. A complete choke.
