I guess they could just rework that reworked script for Ghosts of Mars as originally intended.

All of the trailers give most of the movie away so I’ll link this instead but “The Menu” is worth checking out, much like Barbarian it’s really interesting to see people’s different tales and interpretations of it.

Amazon signed Mike Flanagan to an exclusive deal. Not news at this point, but what is news, is it was to bring the Dark Tower project he been planning to Amazon.  Really wonder if he plans to use King himself at the end of it.

Not much to go on, as it is a teaser after all, still though I'm hyped for Scream 6.

Yellowjackets renewed for season 3. Def gonna be seeing this one to the end.

Scream 6 should be interesting as it is a city and normally do not do slashers in cities.

I'm excited to see what they do with Jenna Ortega in Scream 6, she really has become one of my favorite young Hollywood stars.

Holy shit this looks amazing. Radio Silence def got the evolution they wanted. They still have plans beyond this film for at least one more, if not more.

Children of the Corn remake should be released soon. It will likely suck but I for one and a sucker for He Who Walks Behind the Rows.

Barbarian crew on a new film Weapons, backed by New Line. No details yet, but a film lots of people will be eagerly awaiting.

Sean Cunningham working on rebooting Friday the 13th now the right war ended. Jeff Locker and Jeremy Weiss are attached. They will be working on Cunningham's the Night Driver film. They are also talking about doing a House remake.

Finally, Fabrice du Welz’s French extreme film Calvaire is getting an HD remaster and limited theater run. This was released in the era of Irreversable, Martyrs, Inside and other ultraviolent films. Oddly enough it is not actually a French film though but a Belgium one. Print looks amazing.

Back when you could rent movies I was always fascinated by the horror franchises. Could never rent rated r's but I was always mesmerized by seeing all the various Jason, Freddy, etc. VHS tapes. It's honestly how I became familiar with them despite never watching them until later in adulthood. Always eyeing those faces of death videos, which I always assumed was a work? Just seeing the words Children of the Corn made me think those days in the 90s. Never cared enough to seek that one out though.

Faces of Death was real archival stuff with staged shit. Like some of the stuff was shit taken from news footage, other stuff was practical effects.

Children of the Corn is a hilarious film about a group of kids who fall under the sway of a kid who is a religious zealot who worships a being that brings corn, that then demands the kids kill their parents as an offering to the corn God. They then explain their lives as if they lived in the bible and offer everyone who turns 18 to the corn God. Setup for the film is a couple driving through has to stop in the town and shit gets crazy.

It is my fav film.  

Scream 6 is getting a Super Bowl ad, the studio seems to be going hard into pushing it

Not much known about it outside Scream in the city, but some fans believe the Ghostface change here is it is a cult devoted to him, and not one person.

It is happening, Return to Silent Hill is about to start shooting. They are doing Silent Hill 2.

IT remake team got HBO to greenlight Welcome to Derry. Will be about the other times Pennywise appeared in the town. Team absolutely are hardcore It fans so should be interesting.

Coupled with this is HBO also confirmed the True Blood reboot is dead and nothing got past the pitch phase.

Holy shit, watched The Outwaters, a found footage film that got a wide release last month, and it is fucking terrifying. Basically four people camping in the Mojave Desert when strange shit starts happening. Slow burn to start, then shit goes absolutely insane. Feels like Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead in the first half, then them snorting a ton of coke to finish the film.  Second half is like Lynchian nightmare fuel.   

Robbie Banfitch wrote, directed and produced the film, and it is debut. Dude gonna be a big name in horror. He basically re-innovated found footage horror.  Shot it for 15k too.

Also when I saw the original trailers I assumed this would be a skinwalker film due to the location and so glad I was wrong.  Far more crazy than that.

Is Babadook based on a Stephan King short story? I've never seen (muchless heard of) Babadook, so genuinely have no idea.

The Babadook is original content, not based on a book. I'm selling it short as a Boogeyman film, it's more a psychological horror where a mother's mental issues manifests as a Boogeyman-like entity.

This appears to be a more traditional story, but learning it is based on a King short story gives it a lot more credibility in my mind.

Yeah Babadook was more a psych horror film, where as the King story was more urban legend / creature feature style.

Should be a good film.
