Ok now that would be fucking hilarious.
As would "Chris Jericho, if that is your real name..."
Or mistaking him for Christian.

I feel his pain. Security companies have the worst customer service imaginable because there's like 3 of them that control 99% of the market and they don't care if you're unhappy or not.
I have to contact security companies almost every day as part of my job and if I'm on hold for less than 30 minutes I consider that a win. They all fucking suck.

I made the point over on PWO, but thought I'd share it over here.
We talk about MJF and how he makes talent go through trials to face him.
What about Jericho fighting people over membership of his crew? The feuds with Moxley, MJF and Ricky Starks all hinged around them being offered a place in the group but ultimately turning it down. Then on the other side there's been feuds where Jericho caught guys like Danielson & Eddie Kingston trying to turn members of his crew against him.
Not only is it played out, but there's only so much interest you can generate from an angle like that.
In fact, the majority of his angles have been relatively low stakes. Even the Orange Cassidy feud boiled down to Jericho being upset that OC ruined his jacket.
The thing is, it's all well and good for Jericho to have these feuds to keep himself on television. Jericho has already built his legacy and done enough to keep fans interested. It's the other talent who haven't had the opportunity to be interesting who get sucked in and repeat the same motions. Not only does it hurt their career, it also hurts the show because it's the same song and dance.
Maybe if AEW could book stables better it would mean something, but the whole stable war in AEW feels like an after-thought.

Mad King been doing all he can to get Ortez over and been working a long angle with him on Rampage and Dark. Likely if Kingston was not doing this. Ortez would have been on the chopping block and off the shows completely when Santana bailed. I would not blame Jericho for Kingston going to bat for his boy.
As for RoH, the brand should not matter right now. They have no TV and the belts on AEW TV are just excessive and will never mean as much as the AEW titles on AEW TV. Shit is just silly.

I don't buy the Ortiz excuse for a second, even without Ortiz there he'd still be on Rampage cutting cryptic promos about being on his best behaviour.
Maybe the ROH brand shouldn't matter, but Claudio and Garcia should.

ROH is a dead promotion that didn't burn out, it faded away.
On Jericho, shit guys.. I've been saying it for the better half of 3 years. His ideas are awful, his execution of them is painful and he's done nothing but drain the momentum out of everyone he's worked with, and then surrounds himself with a bunch of jokers who think they're getting an education under the learning tree of the Grand-Wizard of Q and despite how terrible he is, all these retards in the crowd still sing his shitty excuse for a theme song which gives him validation, and justification to expect more creative freedom.
My favourite Jericho story is when he won the Undisputed Title, ate Dominos pizza off the floor alone in his hotel room, because even then in 2001 no-one liked the guy enough to hang around to the end of the show to celebrate with him.

"To me, [WWE is] not ‘the place to be.’ AEW is the place to be. It really is. I’ve been in WWE. I know how it works. They work that way, I don’t care if Vince is there, Hunter is there, or whoever is there. I have zero interest in ever going back to WWE.
That’s not out of bitterness or anger. I love Vince and I love Hunter and all the people there. But I just really dig AEW, and I have a stake in the game. I came here right out of the gate – I was the guy. Besides Jim Ross, there was nobody that had really been on television on a national basis other than me. I take great pride in that. I started here, why would I want to walk away? There’s so much more that we can do. The sense of accomplishment is massive.” - Chris Jericho.
Cody, Dustin, Moxley, Sting, Cole, Billy Gunn, Christian, Danielson, FTR, Black, Miro, Joe.. but sure, ok.

I came here right out of the gate – I was the guy. Besides Jim Ross, there was nobody that had really been on television on a national basis other than me.I think he's talking about when the company first started. Jericho attached himself to the project and others signed on because if Chris was willing to do it surely this project has some legs to it. Otherwise it was just this potential Being The Elite show with Cody as the only recognised name. Even then, Cody was a talent that arguably peaked as Randy Orton's lackey going on nine years prior, if this son of a billionaire could only attract him, Dustin and PAC there must not be a ton here. Instead they get Jericho which helps bring Moxley in and that gets the ball rolling. However Jericho's let his ego get in the way. He certainly helped but it was a team effort with Cody, Omega and The Bucks all making early contributions before Moxley stepped up and took over.

Still think Jericho retires at a WM. I think you're right. In the meantime, Jericho is smart enough to keep the work going though. TK pays him handsomely to forget WWE exists, and for every dollar his contract goes up, he's setting the price on a WWE return. The man knows what he's doing.

It's interesting, that these things only ever happen to Chris Jericho.
" Hey @mandalaybay…it’s unacceptable that u tried to bully me & assault Me, when all I wanted was my bags that I left at concierge. Ur security staff IGNORED me for 30 Min & when I made some noise, physically & mentally assaulted me& laughed in my face. I want restitution NOW! "
Translation:
Jericho: " Do you who I am!? "
Staff: " Christopher Irvine? Please leave without causing scene Mame. "

I know it is kind of off-topic but the reason we don't talk about Chris Jericho in the same breath as Hogan, Austin, Rock and Cena is 100% down to HHH and his egotistical booking of RAW that put the entire WWE into a tailspin for years. They made Y2J job to DX for years and they never gave the fans the pay off.
They did the same thing with Booker T
HH would shit all over the booking and then claim he had to because his segment was the highest rating segment in ever dwindling numbers. Jericho has a right to be pissed at the WWE, he could have been as Hollywood as Cena if they had booked him better. I was never a huge Jericho fan, but they shat all over him when he was their best shot.

The reason we don't talk about Jericho in the same vain as Austin & Rock as they are arguably the two best to do it. They also had a very short run, so in terms of quality v quantity they have that advantage. Jericho, particularly has shown the last few years, he's not nearly the creative genius he thought he was.
The reason, he's not spoken about in the same conversation as Hogan, Cena, Austin or Flair is because he never drew the money, nor had that ability to do it.
The reason he's not talked about in the same conversation as Angle, Bret, Shawn, Eddie or even Brock is because he's never been a world class in ring talent - he was good, but never great. And in fact struggled when he first came to the WWF performance wise. He, even in his prime had weak offence and sloppy execution. He was never silky smooth or ungodly gritty in his work.
What Jericho is great at, is selling himself. He's a showman. He's been incredible the last few years of articulating how amazing he is, when the reality is, he was a second tier performer.
Nothing to do with Hunter, or anyone else. And as, I've said... the man won The Undisputed Title, and not a single person hung around to congratulate him...

There was an undeniable quality all four of those guys had that Jericho lacked. That's why Jericho was never able to break through.

The Rock got a shot deal at the end of his run, but he was too big for HHH to squash. When Jericho had his moment there was no Rock and Austin, there was no big face in the whole promotion.

That's my point, guys like Cena had undeniable quality about them despite HHH openly burying him on television, Jericho didn't. To say that he'd be on their level if it wasn't for HHH is giving Hunter way too much credit.

At any point in his career, if you look at the locker room he had no business being discussed as a top guy. He just wasn't.
The Attitude Era, he was perfectly placed. That period was a HOF main event roster and it would be hard pressed convincing anyone he could compete with Austin, Rock, Undertaker, Angle, etc.
That Ruthless Aggression era, it was even more of an All Star Cast, and hence his positioning on the card.
He got his runs as Champion numerous times during different periods, he should be happy with his career.
He's just upset, another bell-hop doesn't care who he is, let alone knows his name.

In hindsight, Jericho becoming the first ever Undisputed Champion ruined whatever chance he had of a proper main event run. It was a poisoned chalice and whoever had the belt was always going to be sacrificed to Triple H who was at the apex of his career. If they had have held off, it would have been a card they could have played with the Jericho character. However by 2003, it seemed like his story had already been told and he already had one foot out the door with the Highlight Reel. I don't think it was intended as such, but it had a similar connotation of sports stars taking up part-time media gigs when they're at the back-end of their careers. The more he stuck around, the more he had to make way for guys like Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Edge etc. who had been around a similar length of time but hadn't had their moment yet. Then the writing was clearly on the wall when the John Cenas, Batistas, Randy Ortons and even Shelton Benjamins started to get favoured over him.
While it seems ass-backwards, the best thing you can do in Pro Wrestling is go away for awhile and comeback when the company is desperate. That's how Jericho went onto have his best run in 2008-10, because they were desperate, they were more invested in promoting Jericho so he got far better opportunities than he did previously.
Now he's got more power than ever before, but there's just something off about Jericho's run. It's like his character fails upwards while everyone else who beats him ends up in purgatory.

Your promoter caring about Meltzer ratings feels like a problem. I know TK being a mark is apparently part of the charm (promoters, they’re just like us!) but that really makes him seem goofy.

I would love to see a chart of the last 20 +5 star matchs vs the total viewership or the revenue, etc.
I don't care if Kota Dontgivesashita v Tetsu Whatajoke was 48 minutes of chops and running the ropes, did people watch it? Because it's pointless otherwise. Because it's not real.
