European qualifiers are probably 2nd toughest after the South American ones. You made it over Italy, Sweden, Greece and some others. No shame in what you've done. 

Iran the 2nd half just brought more energy and the red card did away any shot to try and salvage a point. This will be a tough one, especially if all Iran has to do is draw with the US in game 3. They can easily fallback and load up to not let US score. 

Tremendous heart by the US boys, I was hoping the US would get 1 goal in the 1st half considering the final 20 or so minutes of the half US really looked poised but alas.

Need a win vs Iran, I have to see it to believe it that US can win a game and I feel Iran will drop guys in the box and look for the draw.

The Americans are going to be a tough match for anyone. Great physical attributes which go a long way in international football, and some good technical ability too. England were turgid, a worrying display from them.

Bizarrely, Wales still have a plausible, if unlikely, route through. A draw in the US-Iran game and a win for Wales would see Wales through over Iran on goal difference. The hope isn’t dead.

If England plays like they did today you guys could definitely win. What an uninspired game. They looked completely lost. If this is how England are going to play going forward then they’re going to get destroyed by almost anyone they face coming out of the group stages.

I’m just glad we are getting the All or Nothing USA vs Iran showdown. In fucking Qatar no less.

Tunisia were SO bad in the first 35 mins or so of the first half. I didn’t watch their game against Denmark but I can’t believe they managed to get a draw on this evidence. Beautiful glancing header by Duke for the opener, hopefully we can keep our dominance in the second half, boys in the middle have been excellent.

Australia play fearless, like they aren't afraid to go after teams. Barring what happens late in this game, that DEN/AUS game is going to decide the 2nd team. Really impressive 1st half.

Very disappointed with Tunisia. They don’t look like they want it as much as the Australians.

What a win! Tunisia came pretty strong in the second half but we hung tough, Souttar was huge in defence a few times. Great application by the team tonight, that’s the best I’ve seen them play in a long time. Our third ever victory at a World Cup - first for 12 years - what a night!

A lot of fouls by Poland that game vs Saudi Arabia but I am happy Lewandowski got that monkey off his back and got one albeit off a sloppy turnover. Big time win, they can go into Argentina getting a draw and I think that will be enough. 5 points should get you in.

Good win for Poland. The Saudis are no fluke, they carry a great threat. Job done for Poland and they’re now in a great position. Lewandowski moment was the icing on the cake.

France winning has to be good for AUS, means a draw vs the Danes is an advance.

Feels similar to USA/IRN where Iran can try and put everyone in and not try and give up a goal and still come out of the group stages with 1 point.

France may have a problem defending their left hand side as they go on in the tournament. Mbappe is so high up playing as a supplemental striker, and Rabiot, who frankly I find to be very average in midfield, isn’t screening across to help the full-back. Something to keep an eye on as they move on and play better teams. Tough game now for the Danes against a buoyant Australia team.

Come on Messi! I would love it if the great man dug deep tonight and pulled his team to be a big win.

If this stays a 0-0 draw, I truly hope Saudi draws with Mexico and Poland can draw with Argentina because Poland & Saudi Arabia deserve to advance.

Croatia always go underrated somehow. Runners up four years ago and still no one talks about them. They’re aging but still class. Canada have just defended poorly. They haven’t got the balance right especially after the equaliser. I’ve still really enjoyed them at this tournament, a lot of good attacking intent.

Herdman had a Rex Ryan moment of trying to bring the attention to himself and it worked for a little bit but now? He's got egg all over his face for this one. Love the confidence but this one felt personal to Croatia.

Especially with the Morocco result earlier, Croatia/Belgium may be for the final spot of the group.
