RT I will slap bet you that the Jets finish better than Blackhawks. Unless they trade Hellebuyck in the next month. Not saying they'll be a playoff team, but am saying they'll finish higher than Chicago.

Not saying they'll be a playoff team, but am saying they'll finish higher than Chicago. I’m basing my prediction off Bedard lighting up the league and Winnipeg deciding to dump Hellebuyck before he loses any trade value. It’s a hot take that I will probably get wrong, I know.

With the exception of Shesterkin, Rangers are a bunch of cry babies who gave up in the playoffs and let Shesterkin out to dry because there is ########NoQuitNY######.

September is the month for NHL hot takes Why do you think I keep picking the Leafs to win it all every year? I mean, THIS year I'm right. But those previous years? Dumb.

I can't imagine what it's like living in your world, always thinking that the Leafs have a chance. Must be exhausting.

Mike Babcock has resigned as head coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Bro didn’t even make it to training camp.
Jarmo has to step down too. This is a clown show.

Babcock is such a fool. Clearly learned nothing.
Jarmo should resign. They need to take the C off of Jenner for trying to sweep this under the rug. Not sure if Gaudreau had an A but that's gotta go too if so. Hate to be the young guys on Columbus. Hope they all force trades once their entry level deals are done.

What? Is Panarin like Samson? Breadman was Hairman all along. ... Anyone else find the Babcock situation absolutely hilarious? Also, is anyone else like me and fully expecting CBJ to win the Cup now because that's basically how the hockey gods do things these days? Story broke the other day that when Mike Babcock called Brendan Shanahan to tell him he was turning down Buffalo and wanted to join the Leafs, Shanahan was at lunch with Guy Boucher where he was planning on telling him they wanted him as coach. Shanahan obviously cut the lunch short and flew Babs to Toronto immediately, but now everyone and their uncle is wondering what the team would have looked like today had Boucher taken over instead. Also makes you wonder about Shanahan. We already know he is the reason Dubas is gone, he is the reason why the Leafs have quadrupled down on the core 4, he is the reason why Babcock didn't get fired after the Bruins bounced the Leafs out of the playoffs for a second year in a row only for Babcock to get fired 20 games into the following season. Fun fact: the Maple Leafs were the sixth-worst team in the league when Babcock got fired. After Keefe took over, they went 15-5 in their next 20 games, and Keefe still holds the best winning percentage in Toronto history 4 years removed.

With Panarin I'm a bit more concerned with his crime over the summer, which is equivalent to reckless endangerment in NY. But, public opinion applies differently to celebrities. I have zero interest in the upcoming season. I did not forget what a dumpster fire playoff run the Rangers had. Their effort (except Shesterkin) was an embarassment. Drury hiring his own guy, and then getting into an obvious verbal argument at the most important time of the year is a concern long term for this team.

Holy cow Foos Hellebuyck and Scheifle sign identical 7 yrs $8.5 mil contract extensions. I guess we're competing? Surprised Scheifele signed, to be honest. I think he could've got that contract in July from somewhere else. Hellebuyck, not so much. Goalies are voodoo and tough to get fat contracts on new teams. Nice yearly cap hit. Not so nice the length, 5 years would've been better. Oh well! As a fan I guess I'm happy.

Maple Leafs are debuting new goal song tonight so naturally they are down 2-0 and playing like shit.
There are 4 mystery songs that we won’t know until they score in said scenario. One is for when they play original six teams (debuting tonight IF THEY STOP SUCKING), one for regular games, one for retro/throwback nights and a fourth I can’t remember.

Perhaps the Leafs hate it so much, that they ain't gonna score until they reinstate "You Make My Dreams." Well, they scored, and I don't like the new song.

That was a fun game to watch. Matthews' hat trick saves the day, and the Leafs win it in a shootout.

God damn, Van City absolutely delivered, last night against the Oliers. Brock Boeser with four goals, amazing performance. Here is hoping, that the Canucks that played last night, is the same team that shows up on Saturday in Edmonton.

I'm ready to rock!!!!!!!!! I know the Sharks will stink but I'm trying not to let it depress me much. I'm excited to see how Tampa will bounce back this season.

Although the Sharks came out on the losing against the Avalanche, Mackenzie Blackwood played the game of his career. What a show.

The Canucks are undefeated and I'm loving it, great start to the season, hopefully, they'll keep that momentum going tomorrow night against Philly and then the Florida teams (Tampa on Thursday, Florida on Saturday). I know they'll lose soon enough, but I'd love to see them keep the streak going for as long as possible.

Apart from one dud performance against Nashville the early signs for the Rangers have been quite positive. The best development so far, in my opinion, is Laviolette picking lines and sticking with them in contrast to Gallant's line blender approach. Moving Lafreniere to RW was long overdue and flipping him to a playmaking line (with Trocheck essentially going in the other direction) has a lot of potential.
