The sad part about this is the biggest offseason storyline for the Jets is Mecole Hardman. A player who isn’t even on their team anymore not really impacted their team. A player who caught the game winning TD in the Super Bowl. Therefore, a Super Bowl champion. Again. This is why the Jets franchise will forever suck. They are easily distracted. In other words; get Mecole Hardmans championship dick out your mouths and focus on yourselves. Sorry ass franchise. Bring in a 40 year old QB and let him run your whole team. Embarrass himself and the franchise by getting injured before I could finish taking my post National Anthem piss. Spend the whole season hyping him up to potentially return all the meanwhile destroying any confidence your first round QB Zack Wilson had left by constantly letting that 40 year old QB allow himself to be a distraction. They’re a sorry ass franchise and have been one ever since they let Rex Ryan go. Hardman's the one going on a podcast and airing out dirty laundry, the players are just responding and defending themselves/coaches who came under fire. Hardman got his ring, why is he so upset about how things happened with NYJ. He should be grateful he didn't get kept and deactivated the rest of the way and that he was thrown to a team he has loads of familiarity with. You were spot on with the 2nd paragraph though no doubt. When the Jets get their mojo and swag back, there won't be any room left on the train to jump to bandwagon on. Get in while it's discounted, the city is going to be rocking when it happens. Almost NY Knicks like.

I don’t hate the Jets. I like them more than the Giants if I had to pick my favorite NY team. I’ll always cheer for the home teams because it’s what I’ve done my whole life but the Jets have also been an embarrassment my whole life minus those 2 years where Rex/Sanchez got to the AFC Championship. I call it how it is. When you suck, I’ll remind you of that.

Weird that Kid is the one getting angry on behalf on Hardman who clearly pulled an absolute shit head love if the allegations are true. Regardless of how it ended or went - that’s just just some shit you shouldn’t do.
How would anyone want him on their team moving forward?

It really shows that for as much time as we spend analysing the NFL it is still so much about luck. Hardman had a wild season - if the Chiefs didn't have such a rough time with their WRs this season he would have just been stuck rotting on the Jets for being a diva and refusing to return puts. Then even when he came back to KC he was very nearly the villain for fumbling at the goalline against the Bills, but ended up being the one to catch the SB winning pass. As UT said, he's clearly not the sharpest tool in the shed and has probably damaged his chances of returning to the Chiefs again next season, and limited his market elsewhere with this. Anyway this story is getting too much attention for what it really deserves. I'm more invested in Taylor making poptarts for the Chiefs lineman.

The news is all allegations from salty Jets players. Maybe it’s true, maybe it’s not. The fact remains that Mecole Hardman caught the game winning TD in the Super Bowl and will be seen on NFL SB highlights forever. Man hit a walk off on the biggest game in sports.
Just like that German kid who won the World Cup. Kid did nothing for the rest of his career but will be shown forever.
The Jets need to stop being all over the news about gossip. That’s all they’re doing. Gossiping. Beefing with this guy, beefing with that guy. Handle your business before you talk on a champ.
You know who didn’t get a pop tart? Andy Reid.

He’s earned it for that franchise. Figured he would be a big chip to fall in FA but that’s a big fish gone.

Broncos just release Russell Wilson Future Raiders or Steelers maybe? Purely on how terrible Wilson was, the trade is an all-time bad move (Seattle got two guys that look like they might be decade long starters), but it's the fact that they released him before he even played a game under his contract extension that makes it truly incredible. $85 million dead money is double the next biggest cap hit ever. It's wild that George Paton still has a job. Pittsburgh feels like the most logical fit because they aren't in a position to draft anyone and his still decent deep ball would be a good compliment for the style of offense we saw Mike Sullivan call down the stretch. But I don't know if he is even really an upgrade on Mason Rudolph/Kenny Pickett at this point.

Essentially he gave up Two 1sts, two 2nds a fifth and three players for Wilson who he then signed to a 242 million dollar extension. All that for two losing seasons , a huge contract and subsequent 85 million in dead cap. Add to that hiring Hackett over other people in that same coaching class like KOC, McDonald and Daboll.

Every day with no announced Chris Jones contract is another day irritated for me. When he goes and all we get is a compensatory pick this feels like a real mistake.

He has so much untapped potential which is scary, he is a stupid good pass rusher. Remains to be seen if he can be a great run stopper but the lack of snaps due to the Jets system didn't get that answered. I hope he's retained but I get a bit doubtful.

Can you guys franchise him today or is that off the table? The story was that they were tagging Snead to kick that down the road either to a trade or a longer deal and putting all of their attention on a Chris Jones deal. Now seems more like they didn’t want to tag Jones a second time and they’ll probably lose him and Snead for day 2 picks.

I don’t know that I could see him going to a shit place like Washington given how much success he’s had in KC but there’s up and coming teams like Houston where I think he could make a huge difference and they have the money and SHOULD be willing to spend on Strouds rookie deal.

Not tagging him a second time seems more like a good faith thing. I haven't seen anything from either side indicating they won't get a deal done - Jones said he wanted to stay and everything that is coming from the Chiefs side suggests they believe they are close to reaching an agreement. I'd be pretty shocked if he leaves. Bucs franchise tagged Winfield but the Giants didn't with McKinney - I think it's happening for you UT

There is no way Chris Jones plays in any jersey but a Chiefs jersey next season. I guarantee it. Too much history to be made next season and Chris Jones is a Chief for life.

Chiefs played hardball with him last year and lost a game, I can see them doing the same thing again and him heading straight to Houston for Aaron Donald money. Worth noting to @admin’s point, that Tyrann Mathieu also wanted to stay and the Chiefs gave no real indication they weren’t interested until come to find out they didn’t even offer him a deal and got Justin Reid for the money Mathieu was supposedly willing to take. Chiefs front office loves you until they move off you.

Jordan Poyer gone too but that might be a blessing in disguise. He fell off the last couple years and hasn’t been the difference maker on defence he used to be. And the Bills can’t afford a 32 year old safety on that salary.
Mitch Morse leaving is tough but they can get just as good a centre for cheaper. And he is due a big payday.

The Bills defence is going to look dramatically different this year. They basically only have Taron Johnson and Rasul Douglas under contract in the secondary, and their defensive line might change a lot with Epenesa, Floyd, Lawson and DaQuan Jones all free agents. Poyer and White (and Hyde if he follows as well which sounds likely) have really been their identity throughout the McDermott era so it seems like a shock, but I think it does feel like the right time for a refresh.
