I took a gamble and drafted Ohtani 2nd round in the PW fantasy baseball league last night.

I like drafting degenerate gamblers.

Anyone else watching opening day? I've forsaken the Rockies and am back to the Dodgers which was my team before the Rockies existed.

Mets washed out on opening day. 0.5 ahead of the Nats and Marlins though!

Juan Soto is a beast. With Judge struggling, Soto is just feeling it today. Clutch hits to cap off the 4 game sweep in H-Town.

Frank "The Tank" Fleming is panicking big time, Metsies 0-4. Offense looks completely shot.

I guess now that Ohtani can’t bet on himself anymore, he’s just not going to hit HRs again.

Finally got off the schneid today although it was very close to being no hit. :lol:

Pitching has actually been very decent, they're first in the NL for team ERA, the bats are just completely cold. Nimmo and Lindor are a combined 2/45 leading off the order. 😔

Cabrera not starting in the home opener... after a day off... week 2... no bench players should be in the starting lineup of a home opener. I can't stand Boone.

This is all from one game, 7 innings today(and still going). Angel Hernandez is easily the worst official in any sport, there's nobody worse than him.

No doubt. There’s not one person that likes this guy. The only reason he still has a job is because he sued MLB years ago.

They don't have to fire him but why do they keep putting him behind home plate? Stick him on 2nd base and leave him there. Let the union file grievances. You have mountains of evidence why the league does not have faith in him to do a good job.

And yes I know he has made bad calls everywhere on the field, you might as well just stick him at the spot that has the least responsibility.

Mets have really turned it around after the rough start, 10-3 in their last thirteen. The bullpen has been immense, it's so great to have Diaz back at his best and Reed Garrett has been a revelation. Getting a lot of contributions from a lot of different guys, seems like they have a team spirit that was completely missing last season despite having bigger names on the roster.

Be interesting to see how they fare against the Dodgers.

Also, Elly De La Cruz is the NL MVP and the season has just started and I’m locking it in. That dude is amazing.

Juan Soto is hitting near or around 400 mill on that next contract.

Better late than never....amazing he made it as long as he ended up making it as an umpire with the # of blown calls he has had. 

THE giant among giants, is no longer with us.

Willie Mays passed away today at age 93.

After beginning his career in the Negro League, the Say Hey Kid spent all but the final two years of his career with the New York/San Francisco Giants.

He hit 660 career home runs.  Which at the time, was third all-time behind only Babe Ruth, and Henry Aaron.

And he had perhaps, the greatest catch in baseball history, at the 1954 World Series.
