I’ve flipped through a couple times, to summarize: Trump is the best ever, Biden is the worst ever. Trump’s tenure was a golden era of peace on earth, no terrorism, vets weren’t homeless, no immigration, and military was stronger than ever. Oh, and democrats love abortion so much they’re cool with killing healthy babies after their born.

I knew Trump was going to win again but I am still surprised for some reason.

So the US you pay state and federal taxes.  Fed taxes vary by income, then you pay a second small tax for social security.

Then states are the fucking wild west.  Some you get a separate income tax.  Then you get sales taxes, property taxes on your car and house, and a flood of other little taxes.

If you have cash, you can get into asset and capital gains shit.  

Then to make things weirder, some town have their own taxes for property, sales, or whatever they want.  

There are also over a hundred years of specific exemptions, crafted so corporations and the wealthy can essentially avoid paying most of the various taxes outside of sales taxes.

I watched the debate. It was what I expected. Trump did not answer policy questions at all and lied his ass off, and since Biden had a cold, people will assume he is dying and his mind gone to dementia. In the end no one tuning in will change their opinion one bit.

Hard to say as while progressives dropped Biden, Haley supporters will primarily be voting for him over Trump.  Weird political environment right now.  Map I have is Biden gets exactly 270 electoral votes then the courts decide the election.

Biden wiped the floor with Trump in 2020. Hillary won 2 of 3.

That was a disaster. Trump did what Trump was going to do so he doesn't come off looking better or worse really, its just compared to Biden who stumbled, who had low energy, who had corpse like facial responses to any of the dumb stuff Trump said was so offputting to watch. Biden and Trump spending 30 seconds talking about whose golf game was better said it all really.

Biden 4 years ago was actually writing notes and the like, this time he did it once and was just spacing off into outer space the rest of the way. Biden looks like someone who wants to step away from presidency but doesn't want to concede out of sheer pride. 

Trump did the smartest thing he possibly could not overshout and yell Biden, why do it when you have someone who is half awake speaking on the other side who will self detonate on your behalf?

Basically all of Canada has gone Conservative at a provincial level and Pierre Pollievre (the literal embodiment of victim blaming) will probably be Prime Minister in 2025 so at least our countries will be aligned politically as we all ride the proverbial garbage chute towards utter destruction and untimely death.

Biden being allowed to respond several times to Trump with Trump being asked a new question instead of given a chance to have a rebuttal has the left thinking Trump was “ignoring” questions. 🤣 

Sure Trump plans to restart Covid protocols on the border, popularly known as remain in Mexico, gonna make things all better.

Mexico also stated they will not allow people seeking asylum in the US from outside of Mexico to remain in Mexico to do so.  Pandemic agreement is long over.

Normally I would argue with you but I see your point and the same thing is happening in Canada. Main reason why Trudeau is getting voted out. His immigration policies were insane. I’m all for a big happy world where everyone gets equal opportunities but when I see every single corporation in Canada giving jobs to temporary workers, job fairs flooded with thousands of unqualified applicants, and no chance of my own kids finding work in their teen years…I have a problem with that.

Everything you said about the debate is correct.

Whoever wins, America loses.
Any pretense that Biden shouldn't be in aged care facility was put to rest tonight.

Seems though that in the partisan world we live in that the facts and the performance of either candidate is not going to push most voters in either direction.

For absolute certain if he was pushed on the issue by the DNC he would step down, he can only govern from such a compromised position because he has their support.
It would only be because Biden has failing health that the DNC is free to run the Whitehouse by remote control that they haven't pushed for change.

This is why I expect if there is a shake-up they will parachute their own front man into the Whitehouse before the election, No way it is Kamala.

I appreciate that. And I try … I genuinely try … to be someone that just calls it like I see it, and not try to excuse everything because my politics lean left or right (as best exemplified in this thread by Kid and c).

I struggle to see Biden actually stepping down, but I hope to hell he does. I could see Newsom being a lead candidate, but honestly, the governor of California - which has by and large lost its fucking mind - isn’t the best option in my opinion.

Mayor Pete was and still is the brightest mind in the Democratic Party.

If he wasn’t gay, he’d be President right now.
